I wanted to thank you for your advice to stay on the lower dose as long as it’s working. I’ve now taken 3 shots of .50 of Wegovy after being on .25 for a month. In 7 weeks I’ve lost 17lbs. My doctor has agreed to keep me on .50 since it’s working for me. That is a huge relief to me. I also bought some 2lb weights to start doing some TH-cam videos for arms. You are looking great and so inspiring to me. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.
What was the lowest you have been on? And has it work for you before you started taking 0.50 mg? Im on 0.30mg and I took my first dose and I haven’t gotten much from it,I only had headache but the hunger is still the same.Ill wait and see tho

I use a Cronometer to keep within calorie limits for weight loss and to monitor protein, carbs and fat. Not often but there are times I go over my calories.. my thoughts on that is as long as I log everything everyday… I don’t feel deprived of anything… like you Mindy I hate exercise and only do things I “want” to do.. lol. I like the parent yourself idea. Let’s see if it will work 😂. Unlike you I don’t weigh myself everyday. I’d be nuts… I actually don’t have a specific amount of days I go it’s just when I think of crap I havnt weighed in a while… I’m learning to let go… there is something to be said about logging everything….it keeps me accountable… I started at 350 and am now around 314… so far so good… I know I have to start moving…. That’ll kick it up… anyway thank you for all your candid sharing… it’s priceless..❤

I really appreciate your honesty. As someone who has spent a lot of time neglecting myself, I've experienced the teeth brushing (or lack there of) thing. Now that it's something I do regularly again, I have to show myself grace for the permanent issues I now have to go through with my teeth. Self-care is such an impactful thing to witness. Mindy we are about the same weight. I started at 342 and got down to 238- since I switching from MJ to compound Semaglutide I have gained 10 pounds 😢. I’m talking to my doc (using Fridays per your suggestion) next week. I think I’m going to go back to Terzepitide. I wish my insurance covered it :(. Anyway I also need to get back to walking and strength training and you’re inspiring me! I have had some health issues that really derailed me. I got your fitness class link. This Mindy watched your video while on the rowing machine! Thanks for your honesty, as usual. I like the idea of parenting yourself. I, too, in my deepest depression (and highest weight) struggled to brush my teeth. I know it’s horrible, but I just didn’t love myself enough. Especially during Covid when I worked from home… 😱 Your meals look SO good!! I’m T2D, so I can’t have that many carbs, but I love seeing everything you make. Great job modifying during that workout, too! 💪🏻 😘
Thanks, Mindy. I usually have less than 150 carbs per day. As a T2D that's less than my mom's doctor has told her to have. 🤷♀️ That's also not net carbs... if you prescribe to that, it's usually less than 125.
@@mindypweightloss my bariatric doctor told me less than 70/day for weight loss, but that was before I was diagnosed T2D and on MJ . I’m thinking of going up a little on carbs to see how I do. I usually only get 50/day. 😬

I keep reminding myself that as long as I’m doing the right thing every day, I have made progress, even if the scale doesn’t reveal it. I have not begun any formal exercise yet. I’ve given myself a start date of August 1 to do that. I do have a couple of dogs so I do get some informal exercise from walking the girls. But I know how important strength training is and need to make that a priority at least two days a week.
Hey Barbara, No rush on the exercise... I would make sure you feel really solid with your eating habits first and then add the strength training. Work on getting your steps up as the increased NEAT will do far more for your metabolism at first. You have all the time in the world, my friend. You're doing GREAT!!

I put that supplement in my cart. I just got my A1C results and it's 4.5 so I don't want to bring it lower. (Most of the things in it are used to lower blood sugar too.) I do a lot of research and have been taking Acetyl-L-carnitine, 500mg 1-2x a day on an empty stomach and it's helped lower my appetite. It's supposed to help weight loss, insulin resistance, depression, etc, and moves triglycerides into the cell for the mitochondria to use for energy. My blood work is still improving and I've been on mounjaro 15 months, but my triglycerides and VLDL cholesterol are too high. I just started ALA too, which is an Omega-3, it's sometimes combined with Acetyl-L-carnitine in supplements. ALA helps insulin resistance, triglycerides, and is an antioxidant, supposed to help inflammation too. I'm still very insulin resistant even on the highest dose of mounjaro so I'm studying it. IR causes inflammation (my C reactive protein is borderline high) and I've never felt good physically since a mood medication made me diabetic for 3 years. I totally feel you about poor mental health causing you to neglect your teeth for months. I'm bipolar type 2 and went through a lot in 2021 and did the same thing, and it caused lots of dental issues. If you don't use an electric toothbrush, GET ONE. It makes the whole process so much faster, less work, and my teeth feel so clean afterwards. Studies show the best cleaning is from brushes that rotate and have sonic movement, like the Oral-B Pro 1000. It's $50, make sure you get the version that has 3 modes. I think you can see them light up on the handle. I'm glad things are going better for you. (That "parenting yourself" clicked with me too.) I hate working out, so I just have Alexa play my rap playlist from the 2000's and dance around at home.
My apartment pool is constantly being closed... it's also a time constraint issue. A 20-minute strength training workout is only 20 minutes... a 20-minute swim takes at least twice that with having to go to the pool, dry off, wash off, etc. Now that I'm working, I just don't have the time. I also get WAY more of a workout with the dumbbells. 💜
They are not bad... they are a lot dryer than the Applegate ones and I don't like the flavor as much but they are certainly more macro-friendly and affordable. ❤️

Hey Mindy ❤ 😊 I used to love hearing compliments about my weight loss from friends and family. But because my weight has fluctuated so much over the years I notice how much it hurts when I don't receive complaints when my weight is up. For example, some family members we only see once or twice a year so when we visit I get looked over. If my weight is up then silence but when my weight is down I get the whole "oh Lisa you look so good! Have you lost weight?" 🤨😒 ugh I usually just say a quick thank you and change the subject. Makes me uncomfortable now. Like why can't I look good either way?!
I find the 20 oz bag of applegate maple chicken sausage is a better price by weight than the box. Down side is I can only find it at Walmart which is hard to get to.
Poo... it only comes in the patties... I prefer the links. I know it's the same flavor, but the texture is definitely different to me. Also, 2 links are the perfect amount for me for a portion, and the patties are bigger.
I alternate between the Costco chicken sausage and the applegate maple. And that works for me. The applegate is amazing. So I look forward to it when I switch to them. The price is amazing for the Costco. I east eggs and sausage and toast 4-5 x a week for breakfast so it’s important to me.
It's not right how good that Applegate sausage is... they've RUINED me!! I think I'm gonna try crumbling some of that costco sausage up in an egg bake.
We're about the same size Mindy and I'm at a 1400 calorie cut currently. Just wondering what your current cut is. I'm loosing 0.8-1.5 lbs a week pretty consistently.
Hey Emily, That sounds REALLY low. I'm close to 1750 right now. I would take a look at a TDEE calculator and see how much that says you should be eating.
Someone else told me about that... unfortunately it's the patties which I don't like as much... but I may make it work because it's a much better price and I really do love them.
I've heard from nurses that because the inner thigh is very vascular (lots of blood vessels) and has lots of nerves there's more risk for injection site injury on the inner thighs which is why they recommend the top of the thighs... but as long as you're following your doctor's advice you do what works for you. 💜
Oh no!!! That's so odd... I didn't think any of the ingredients would be responsible for any GI interactions. Were there any other changes you made to your diet recently as well?
It happened again yesterday and I had ate something fried and I didn't take the supplement so that would be the reason. I don't eat fried food only in moderation. I thought it was the supplement but it's the fried food. I see 7.5 mg doesn't agree with fried food.😫 And thanks for responding.
I started taking my semaglutide today,this shot I take is 0.30mg and it does nothing for my appetite,and the side effect I have is headache,I took some pain tablets and it did nothing for the headache,it went away on its own and I’m still feeling hungry.Who else have this problem,I’m tired of being fat and wanna lose the weight man!
Hey Kimberley, The loading doses are mostly intended to get your body used to the GLP medications. Apart from super responders, most people don't start feeling the effects for several weeks or until they move up in doses. It isn't an instant fix. Give it time, my friend. 💜
After I had my sleeve surgery years ago I would go into the doctor's office and would be so upset because I had gained muscle instead of weight. Dunno but seemed right

Hey Mindy ❤ 😊 I used to love hearing compliments about my weight loss from friends and family. But because my weight has fluctuated so much over the years I notice how much it hurts when I don't receive complaints when my weight is up. For example, some family members we only see once or twice a year so when we visit I get looked over. If my weight is up then silence but when my weight is down I get the whole "oh Lisa you look so good! Have you lost weight?" 🤨😒 ugh I usually just say a quick thank you and change the subject. Makes me uncomfortable now. Like why can't I look good either way?!

I find the 20 oz bag of applegate maple chicken sausage is a better price by weight than the box. Down side is I can only find it at Walmart which is hard to get to.

Poo... it only comes in the patties... I prefer the links. I know it's the same flavor, but the texture is definitely different to me. Also, 2 links are the perfect amount for me for a portion, and the patties are bigger.

I alternate between the Costco chicken sausage and the applegate maple. And that works for me. The applegate is amazing. So I look forward to it when I switch to them. The price is amazing for the Costco. I east eggs and sausage and toast 4-5 x a week for breakfast so it’s important to me.
It's not right how good that Applegate sausage is... they've RUINED me!!
I think I'm gonna try crumbling some of that costco sausage up in an egg bake.

We're about the same size Mindy and I'm at a 1400 calorie cut currently. Just wondering what your current cut is. I'm loosing 0.8-1.5 lbs a week pretty consistently.

That sounds REALLY low. I'm close to 1750 right now. I would take a look at a TDEE calculator and see how much that says you should be eating.
Walmart does sell the big bag of applegate for 12.40 fyi.
Someone else told me about that... unfortunately it's the patties which I don't like as much... but I may make it work because it's a much better price and I really do love them.

I did my inner thigh. No pain at all.
I've heard from nurses that because the inner thigh is very vascular (lots of blood vessels) and has lots of nerves there's more risk for injection site injury on the inner thighs which is why they recommend the top of the thighs... but as long as you're following your doctor's advice you do what works for you. 💜

It happened again yesterday and I had ate something fried and I didn't take the supplement so that would be the reason. I don't eat fried food only in moderation. I thought it was the supplement but it's the fried food. I see 7.5 mg doesn't agree with fried food.😫 And thanks for responding.
I started taking my semaglutide today,this shot I take is 0.30mg and it does nothing for my appetite,and the side effect I have is headache,I took some pain tablets and it did nothing for the headache,it went away on its own and I’m still feeling hungry.Who else have this problem,I’m tired of being fat and wanna lose the weight man!

The loading doses are mostly intended to get your body used to the GLP medications. Apart from super responders, most people don't start feeling the effects for several weeks or until they move up in doses. It isn't an instant fix. Give it time, my friend. 💜
