Most in-depth review I have seen so far about the Tudor BB58. I like it how you take the time to inspect the watch and have a look at all the small details of the BB58. I expect as well that at next Baselworld new models will be presented and this is currently holding me back to purchase one. Earlier this year I was blown away with the presentation of the watch because it ticks all the boxes I'm looking for in my next watch: vintage style, somewhat smaller and diver. However, after watching some reviews I start to think it looks a little bit... dull.
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏 It’ll be interesting to see what Tudor will bring out during Basel 2019. I think the MT5402 movement platform has great potential.
All great watches. I chose the Black bay blue eta. I wanted the rose, I wasn't fussed about the movement. And the faux patina on the other watches didn't appeal to me.
Cool vid thanks. I've had a 58 for a month or so now and it's been a pleasure to wear. I was eyeing a submariner but this is ideal for my slim wrist. I bought it with the factory leather strap that has a clasp, the leather colour was ok but i found it uncomfortable and fiddly to use. i've since changed it for a traditional vintage mid brown leather strap with light colour stitching, which has proved to be a perfect match, significantly enhancing its visual impact and wearability .
Glyn Lewis hi Glyn if you don’t mind me asking where did you get your BB 58 from? I’m on every Tudor stockist waiting list and been told I may have to wait a year. If you decide to trade yours in please let me know I’d happily buy from you 👍🏻
I have an 114060 for a week or two now, and had the fortunate opportunity to order a full bracelet 58 today (hopefully arrives before Christmas!). Do you find their is room for both in your collection or do you find its hard to choose when to wear which (due to their similarity). My initial hesitation is that the watches are to similar in style/look to justify having both, that being said they are totally different watches to the connoisseurs.
Zach Blass Congrats on your Sub and incoming BB58! Personally I find them to be very different and different enough for me to justify having both in my collection.
a guy named Tommy thank you!! I plan on eventually getting the nato, at that point they will definitely have a different aesthetic. Their nato fabric from france is super soft (highly recommend hodinkee’s video on it for tudor owners to make you feel extra special about how they get it so soft!)
Just bought it like you on the nato. Ordered the bracelet from Rolex NY. Just curious if you've received the bracelet by now& if so, how long did it take. Mine has to ship over from Geneva.
Nope I haven’t. I called my AD a few days ago and it’s still on backorder with no ETA. I’m actually in the process of trading for another BB58 on bracelet for less $ than purchasing the bracelet by itself.
Bracelet goes for about $900 plus sales tax. No I never got it, ended up trading it for one that’s on the bracelet and the net difference came out a lot less.
@@kemosaabe It's been 3mos & still waiting. AD said initially 4-6 weeks, but i think realistically it'll be by the summer. Cost is $850 + tax. Seems like you would pay more by ordering bracelet separately but there is at least a 1 yr waiting list to buy the watch on a bracelet than on a strap. Also, Chrono24 & Stockx have new ones @ 4K plus so it's about the same. It's very hard right now to find one readily available on the bracelet. There was a seller on ebay selling the BB 58 bracelet for $950 but it just sold. That may be the best option if you're not willing to wait.Hope this helps. Thanks.
Nice collection brother. I’m on standby for the BB58, looks like a fantastic watch! I’m currently rocking a 16610 Submariner, so I’m hoping the no date 58 will be just what I need to offset the Sub date. We shall see 👍🏼
Hey there! Where’d you get your blue fabric bracelet from? Is that like that nylon climbing rope thing? I see a lot of watch guys with these fabric-style bracelets
Dear Mr. Does the indexes and hands have plated real gold? Or its just a color? Personally I would not prefer the 58 indexes to be with plated or real gold . Thanks and kind regards,
Thanks for the sizing lesson and giving us your wrist size...Turns out same as me, I'm now positive a 36mm Explorer will work on our wrist. My 58 gets here the 16h. yay. Waited 9 weeks
Tommy - Will the different colors drive down the price or discontinue the current Black Bays? I do feel most people still prefer larger watches even though the community seems to be going toward smaller watches.
I don’t think the current BB’s will be discontinued although it’s possible that different features maybe introduced to differentiate the regular BB from the BB58, like adding a date for instance. It’s possible that Tudor will further position the BB58 for the enthusiast/purist crowd, and the regular BB for a wider audience. As for price, who knows? With the exception of the BB58 and original BB Black ETA, which is still fairly limited and was produced for 6 months respectively, the BB line and most new Tudors in general, aren’t known to retain its value well.
Objectively it’s 904L SS in the Sub vs 316L SS in the BB. The 904L has a particular sheen to it. Subjectively I think the finishing on the Sub is slightly better and more refined.
I think the sub has a better finish than the royal oak or overseas ... watches in the price range of 3-3.5 k won’t even compare to the finishing of the Rolex case
Kai Soerfjord (10:48 into the video) Did you actually put your Submariner in the sand, Tommy ? And your thinking was, like, it is a brushed finish, so, that’s almost like sandblasted, so a little sand should be - ok?
Kai Soerfjord Ha! Yes I put my Sub in the sand and no that’s not my thinking. Unlike some, I brought my watches to actually use them. And yes, I even went into the ocean swim with my Sub - oh the horror!
This vid isn't new, so my comment might be irrelevant. But Strapcode has a solid end link, BB58 fitted oyster bracelet. It's a good option. I think they skip the faux rivets. And it's not like the OEM bracelet has glide lock or is anything special in the first place. So this is a quality third party option at a fraction of the cost, with a cleaner look.
Strap is Jacquard, specially sourced. The coin edge on the Tudor bezel is sleeker looking than the knurled Rolex, but for actual diving use, the knurling probably works better.
Yeah I appreciate Tudor’s fabric strap but glad I got the bracelet. IMO, it was hard to get a good fit from the strap and it was uncomfortable. Among the OEM’s, I still that Omega makes the best NATO’s.
Yeah they are a little hard to get still. Not sure if it’s a production delay or Tudor is experimenting with the Rolex release strategy of 1 to 2 watches per month per AD and long wait times.

I think that you should wait at least until next Basel (March 2019) to see what Tudor releases. The BB’s don’t hold their value that well, relative to Rolex, so I wouldn’t advise getting one with the intention of selling it, especially new, even with a discount. If you must, consider pre-owned.

FYI - The buckle is in the shape of the Tudor shield. And not sure what you mean by “make the strap authentic”? It is an authentic Tudor fabric strap that came mounted on the watch. Not aftermarket or fake.

Doesn’t have the Tudor Logo on the buckle!!!!!
WTF? Spend the extra money & offer it on a GD Logo. Make the strap AUTHENTIC! Wake up Tudor! Quit riding on your brothers tail coats!!!!!!!! And then a satin box. Makes me want to slap Tudors Management Team!!!!!
FYI - The buckle is in the shape of the Tudor shield. And not sure what you mean by “make the strap authentic”? It is an authentic Tudor fabric strap that came mounted on the watch. Not aftermarket or fake.
Hey guys, what is going on? Why tf start such a video with such a dumb question?
I guess what’s going on with you is criticizing people over their greetings. 🙃
