Lovely ‘Singaporean’ review from yr heart. Love it. Great videography and lighting! Alright that’s it, Am going to get one right away (if I can find one) haha
Excellent review that I wish I'd seen before I purchased my BB58. I really appreciate how you showed the watch off from many different angles, something I couldn't find in other reviews. Loving the watch so far!
Thanks for posting your experience/opinion. I got one on bracelet a month ago in portugal. Agree they should include the nato straps but it still is by far my favorite watch. Wears perfectly for me and i constantly find myself turning the bezel just because. Lume is fantastic also.
Did I miss a lume shot? Mine arrives next week from Uk to Australia. I’ve been waiting for 8 months. Whilst waiting I purchased an Omega Speedmaster moon watch the sapphire sandwich version. Thanks for your review I’ve watched a few times
Have an old gmt 2, just bought the tudor gmt, but its to top heavy. So I was happy to get the bb58.. I like the bb58 the best..I like how it wears.. with older eyes its the easiest to read..
Hi, do you think it might be possible to fit the steinhart 39 bracelet in your BB58?, I also own a Steinhart 39 and I was thinking to get a Tudor bb58 in leather strap and possibly fit my Steinhart bracelet from time to time. Thanks 🙏 for your helpful answer
nice review and wish you wear in good health. I just got this stunning looking watch yesterday from grey market (its virtually impossible to get it from AD now). And I do agree with the on-the-fly quick adjustable strap, its easier to wear it in tropical weather especially Singapore :)
Fantastic looking watch. Looking forward to getting one myself. Also, you've got nice hands for doing watch reviews. Clean, slender hands with good skin integrity are often overlooked and are important when watching reviews. Quality watch presented with quality hands. Great review.
Good choice! I bought mine about 4 weeks ago and I simply love this watch. However I have 1 simple question. In the manual they say that the watch needs to be winded about 30 times. When I do this the watch stops moving in a day... while the power reserve is 70 hours. I have my concerns about this. How many times do you wind it so it stays ticking for 70 hours?
Oh it should not stop on your wrist in a day if you wind it 30 times. I would continue to monitor it and if that still happens I'd bring it in for repair.
Tick Back Time meanwhile I have winded it 50 times and it stopped ticking in 70 hours. I guess you have to wind it a little more. Anyway thanks for the advice!
thanks for the great review, i am too from singapore on a waiting list to get 1 of this bb58. did you have to pay more to get it 2nd hand ? and is there any reputable 2nd hand dealer that you can trust with the purchase here locally ?
Back then, I did not pay more but overall I ended up spending more than if I just waited patiently. As for 2nd hand dealers, most brick and mortar shops are safe as they are all licensed and selling a fake watch will get them into deep, deep trouble with the authorities. Shops in The Bencoolen are fine.
Great video and story! Im more of a fan of the bigger Black Bays (79230) as the 58 is just way too small for my comfort. But both watches are pretty much the same other than the size, and my favorite thing about them is the bracelet. The way they fabricated the clasp is just perfect in my opinion. You got a new subscriber man!!
Thank you so much for the support! It's even better if you enjoy the larger black bays as there are more color options, and all the ADs that I'd been to sell it for way less than the 58
Good and honest review. Glad you share your impatient of owing this BB58 which resulted in getting a bad pre-owned piece. You should avoid that preowned watch dealer in your watch journey at all cost for not being honest and trustworthy.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, it was unfortunate but I see everything as a learning journey. At least it happened to me relatively early in my watch collecting hobby!
In regard to smaller watches I have the same principles. Although I have a 7.5 inches wrist I can sport watches from 36 to 43 tops. Look into 36mm watches (the Smiths brand from Timefactors - Eddie has great designs for vintage inspired military style watches)
I also have a 7.5 inch wrist and a 36mm looks like a little girls watch on my wrist. I’m confused right now as to how you think you can get away with a 36mm.
Congratulations for this amazing wristwatch! I'm looking to buy myself a "proper" watch and can't decide between this BB58 and the Speedy Professional (on Hesalite); any suggestions?
Hey! Thanks alot. Well, the speedy is actually kinda in my radar some time in the future, but if you could only have one, I would go with the bb58. It retains it's value better than the speedy, it's cheaper, is a dive watch so its way more water resistant, has longer power reserve and is an automatic. In essence it's a more practical watch but the speedy of course has a richer history and perhaps more "soul".
They are very different watches. You can wear the tutor everyday all day everywhere and probably have no problems. You can definitely wear the Speedmaster daily but it is a bit more I'm a fragile watch although stunningly rugged for a chronograph. Totally different look as well. If it were me I would go with the tutor. But personally, I need a date on my daily watch. I mean, if I'm going to give up 30 features of your average digital watch + 150000 of a smartwatch I want my watch to do more than literally one thing which is telling the time only semi accurately. Let's be honest, mechanical watches are a joke when it comes to keeping time. Humans were making clocks that keep two seconds a day 200 years ago and we are still talk to you about the amazing movement of this or that company because they keep a few seconds a day. It's ridiculous. I still love watches... Just sayin . . .
The second when I hear you speak, I know you're a fellow Singaporean haha. I just got mine early this month, it's my first luxury watch too and I absolutely love it. Congrats on your new watch! Cheers :)
I didn't get a sleeve with my BB58 (i picked mine up the day before you) but was told by AD that they no longer come with a sleeve. My Black Shield from 5 years ago came with a red one.
The actual day that I got this watch was 17 March 2020. By sleeve I guess you are referring to the cardholder? In that case it seems like it's something that the AD can decide to include or not.
That looks great! I am trying to get a Black Bay 58 too. I have been on the waiting list for about 4 months now and still no sign. Btw, which AD did you go to?
@@tickbacktime Yes, I am from Singapore too. I should give that place a visit once the Circuit Breaker ends. Thanks for the details and enjoy the watch!
thanks for sharing experience with you purchase. for my purchasing of BB58 . My BT (not AD) did not give me tag and guarantee booklet. but I have guarantee card print my chinese name not sign on it
Tick Back Time I did many times, but they say thay are boutiques of tudor&rolex and would not provide guarantee bookle from them. but still feel not good as well
If you wiped that watch any more than you did, I think you would probably wipe the metal away. Also, it’s a great looking watch but I don’t like the fake rivets. What would make it better looking and more practical is a matte ceramic bezel like what’s on the Pelagos along with an on the fly adjustable bracelet and that would make it perfect. Rolex won’t do that because that will directly compete with the Submariner.
Now Tudor is were they want to be they are already cutting back and giving you less for more, no more nato strap plus they have even cheapend the box, no more piano black laquared box. In regards to the rivits why can't people see it for what it is, its a design cue like so many watch designs.
Thank you for the feedback! Yes I agree I've been wiping the watch too often during the review. In future reviews I'll probably be wearing gloves to reduce fingerprints while handling the watches throughout the review. Cheers!
Good review. My two suggestions are spend less time on the box (if any) and don’t wipe the watch on camera. Do that before you start filming as it gets in the way and is distracting.
😁 I found myself wanting to know the box contents when looking for pre-owned so I thought it was important! I'll try to keep it as short as possible in the future, thanks for the feedback!
Congrats. This too was my first venture into “luxury” watches. I had stepped up from Oris. The BB58 is so worth every penny
Lovely ‘Singaporean’ review from yr heart. Love it.
Great videography and lighting!
Alright that’s it,
Am going to get one right away (if I can find one) haha
Thank you bro! Great to see Singaporeans in the comments as well!
Good pick up. Between this and Rolex GMT, the BB58 has got the most of my wrist time comfortably.
Congrats on your purchase. I like the look of the watch its so elegant looking. Thanks for sharing!
Nice purchase mate! Just got one myself from an AD in SG as well (a few hours ago no less). Loving it so far! Wear it in good health

@@muhdnoh1908 slightly below retail. 4.8 G? there about

Well I'm a retired cop and have 2 kids in college so I congratulate you on your purchase but as for me it's the invicta 1953 for me for now! Lol
Thanks Brian! These are just nice-to-haves, not necessities!

I am convinced that the Rubber B black/cream strap would look unreal on that. I am undecided on this or the dark.
Man, I'm looking to pick up a blackbay 58 within the next few weeks from an AD. Sad to that they don't include the extra strap anymore....
Reminds me of these James bond submariners from the 60s...

Hey there. It'll probably not fit. The end links are of different shapes.
Very nice watch to start with, am planning to start my collection with the same watch. How much did u get it for around ?
Hey how long did you wait before the AD contacted you? Which AD was that? Im still waiting for mine to contact me.
Hey there, probably waited around 3 months if my memory serves me correctly. You could try Swiss Watch Gallery at Sentosa.

good for you, buddy! I also believe you should be totally satisfied when your'e paying top dollar

It is a beautiful watch. Unfortunately, anything smaller than 40mm is too small for me. I have the blue 41mm version. It is just perfect for my wrist.

Thank you! I may be tempted to pick up a Pelagos as well in the near future 😉
The presentation or lack of from Rolex/Tudor is sad! Tudor I can forgive but the Rolex presentation box is so beneath the brand.
I fully agree! They seem too stuck in their old ways.
Good stuff! Keep posting!
Thank you for the kind words!
The box is an Exemple of what is needed to bring the price so down for this watch
Tudor B brand because of Rolex and the out of control advertising budget nothing special. Seiko for 500 / 600 euro looks even better.
