And the way (some) type 4 textures have trouble with tangles is NOT the same as wavy or straight textures. We literally have to stretch our hair with twists, braids, or heat just so it doesn’t ravel on itself (single strand knots say hello). Some of us can’t even use brushes if we want to retain length. Deep conditioning and leave in conditioner will probably help a lot. There are a few product ranges that specifically target frizz.

You can if you want it to penetrate deeper, but that’s not necessary every wash.
My hair is low porosity and hates cold water with a passion.
