I've got one of these Strapcode bracelets on my SKX007 and love it. Every so often I revert back to the Jubilee just to reminisce....but every time the Strapcode is back on within a day or two.
Great video mate! Although I really like the quality & look of this bracelet, I have a soft spot for the quirky charm of the jubilee, even with it's shortcomings. I really look forward to your upgrade mod to the NH36, as that, along with what you've already done, truly make the modified SKX close to perfect. The lack of hacking & hand winding has been a real issue for me on a $200 watch. This upgrade fascinated me since I watched 'Lume Shot' do it a few weeks ago.
I like it, it is a bit thicker and very well made. The watch doesn’t move around as much and is better balanced. It’s also much easier to remove links and overall it makes it look more expensive, modern and more masculine, like an omega. That said the original one looks very elegant and refined and is very comfortable, kind of like a Rolex. Seiko definitely put some thought into making their bracelet. I think manly is the way to go for daily things like wearing at work or with a long sleeved shirt, but I liked the original bracelet for the summer. Always nice to have different options though, keeps me from having to buy a new watch!

It looks great on your 013. I love this bracelet as it came on my Islander ISL#63. It looks great and it supports the 38mm Islander/Seiko 013 as if it were weightless.

Great job Jody. One notice I have to make here. As notice at 5.53 of the video, the brushing on the watch case is not the same as that of the bracelet. I had that same issue with my watch and it doesn't make the bracelet look organic.
Jody, sapphire glass, new bezel, new strap, soon a new movement..... Your basically changing everything except the dial. Will it be an SKX when it's done? You seem to be building your own watch from a parts bin :-). Which is ok of course :-)

Why can't Seiko mfg a new model with the right hacking movement, a sappire crystal, a lumed ceramic bezel and a milled end link/clasp bracelet? Fairly priced, it could compete with many microbrands that already have figured this out!
Bert Kanne So true, but the SKX is a great looking watch. If the SKX is the watch you like, which I do, it is worth doing these mods. Seiko is just not going to put a 4R36 movement in it.
I bought the StrapcodeJubilee bracelet for my 009. I love it. But I was changing it from a Seiko rubber strap. Not a fan of the modern Seiko rubber straps. Nice vid. I'm looking forward to the next instalment of this mod. Love the tee shirt.
I liked the build quality of the Strapcode oyster, but it was ultimately too heavy and couldn't micro-adjust enough for me. Back to the unbeatable stock jubilee! Like a pair of sweat pants!
is it 18mm clasp width if so buy the marine master clasp and after new movement buy the signed crown from Tiger uk has the link to that and then you the best Skx you wish Seiko shouldve made.love the video

It's been months now. Who says he's screwed up the movement swap and doesn't want to publish a video on it? :P Jokes aside Jody, this series was/is a learning experience for you and me, along with many others. If you do/did mess it up, hey, you'd get a lot of views and it'd be a good lesson for a lot of us :)
Hey mate I am waiting for the next modification on this watch...I own a Citizen BN0100-51E Ecodrive on a metal bracelet - wanted to know if the bezel insert on this watch can be changed? Also my watch bracelet was spoilt by a local watch maker while sizing can I get some replacement am unable to find one in India 23mm lug width? Please help me friend....
Thanks to your videos I'm planning on the modding my SKX013 in nearly the same way. I don't think I'll want another type of bracelet other than jubilee though - jubilee makes this watch stand out vs all the other oyster bracelet watches. Shame Strapcode doesn't offer an upgraded jubilee for SKX013 because I would buy it immediately.

If you are getting a new movement, get also a new skx013 empty case, and build a whole new watch with all the spare parts. Also, will this watch still be an SKX? This ain't about watches anymore. We are talking about the old metaphysical debate of identity now.

My watch was 81grams before installing and 139grams after really sm in love with it

A tiny bit similar to the old cartier bracelet screws. Better put some locktite on them though.

Jody you should have got the new Razor Wire strap from Uncle Seiko for your SKX, it rocks.
Chris! I have one ready for a 7002 mod, but it is 22mm and the 013 is 20mm. Good to hear that you recommend it, it is still in the packet.

They do offer an upgraded jubilee bracelet for the skx013 now.
