    Bought the 'Super O' from you a couple of months ago. I was pleasantly surprised when the '3D' updated version arrived at my doorstep (it was only after I had placed the order that I found Strapcode had made this significant upgrade) Excellent service, many thanks!

    So I had this clasp and the fit and finish is amazing but it was not comfortable for me. The edges were very sharp and with no mirco adjustments it couldn’t be sized without being to large or to small. If they added 2 micro adjusts to the extending end it would almost be perfect.

      Thanks Nicholas. I can see what you are referring to. It is a very bulky clasp.

    If I was still actively diving, I would definitely be getting this! Who knows, maybe if I get back in shape it will be possible. I think that was a great move for Long Island Watch. Keep up the great work!

    I had been searching high and low for a good clasp w/ extension; this is close to perfect and worth every penny. For the sharp edges I just took a file to it and rounded off all edges where the strap mounts. I cut a rubber Bonetto Cinturini 300D to fit and it is worn with my Shark Diver 40 and Sinn 756. Honestly once you have a strap with a quick adjust it's hard to go back. My Shark Diver 38 Ti came stock with a similar adjustment which is a big reason that watch gets all my high activity use. I don't dive but these clasps expand to go over a base layer when doing snow sports. It IS very chunky which works fine w/ tool watches.

    Late to the party but I've found a workaround to the micro adjustment issue. Simply remove enough links until the bracelet becomes ever-so-slightly too small for your wrist (assuming that the clasp is installed) and then use the extenders as micro adjustment, this way you get 1-2 micro adjustment positions for regular wear and 3-4 positions for use with a wetsuit. This clasp was originally designed by Citizen if I recall, and this method seems to have been their intention of how the clasp should be used. With this method the clasp has become my favorite and I now wear all my Strapcode bracelets with it, switching the clasp between them as necessary.
    Still, the ideal ratcheting clasp design in my opinion would be Seiko's Marinemaster clasps because of how svelte they are compared to other solutions including the one on the Tudor Pelagos, which is very functional but also even bulkier than Strapcode's.

  • @jmand63
    @jmand63 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great addition to your assortment, Marc! Strapcode like LIW smells and follows what customers need though I am myself a "desk diver". Lol. The price is reasonable (in comparison with the watch bracelet) because the clasp is made from zero default's numerous tooled pieces of steel which must be reliable when closing and opening thousands of times. Always open/close the same perfect way. Bracelets' links can be made by the tens of thousands in a standard production process. And since the Ratchet Extension Clasp is an accessory, it is produced in smaller quantities, therefore at a higher cost. But it is very fair.

    I have a Prometheus Poseidon which came with a very similar clasp - but it has 3 micro-adjust positions on the extension tail, with about 4.5mm of adjustment range.
    Not as adjustable as most bracelets where you have 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 link positions, but better than nothing.

    Hi Mark, does the ratching clasp permit micro-adjust ratcheting (in say 2mm increements) or is it only in or out in two settings (if you follow me)? If not, are there any ratcheting clasps that allow micro-adjustment on the fly like the Omega Seamaster 300m clasp on the new models (post 2018)? Your video is not clear in relation to the level of micro-adjusts when using the rachet?

    • @aussie8114
      @aussie8114 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each ratchet movement is 2.5mm. So you can easily extend it in individual increments of 2.5mm. Easy to extend and even easier to retract. Well worth trying one.

    Helm watches' bracelets now come with a very similar (if not same) clasp - which are universally hated by the buyers who replace them by reordering Helm's older, simpler designed clasps. It seems to be quite hard to come up with a new patent-free or original design for on-the-fly changeable bracelet clasps.

    I put that same clasp on a watch (only it was the 20mm clasp) and my problem was that those pins are custom. They have a thicker tip and a bigger hole in the clasp and they're quite fat and didn't fit into my links. Regular pins stuck through the clasp. I had to buy single shoulder pins and I had to get them in the UK, couldn't find them here.

    I love the quality of the Super-O I purchased from your store, along with an extra NATO strap & some additional odds ‘n ends. I received fantastic service and blindingly fast shipping, even amidst a global pandemic! Unfortunately, I have super thick wrists & getting quality straps of sufficient length has proven almost impossible. I’m on the very last hole on the OEM rubber strap from Seiko on my SKX007J. The NATO is a little better, but I really want the class look of the Super-O. At present, with the rubber strap, I’ve been duct taping it over my wet suit because I don’t trust the strap not to tear. Is there any way to purchase extra 18mm steel links as opposed to the factory ratchet extension? It costs almost as much as the strap for minimal extension of length. As a Canadian customer, with shipping, tax, duty & the horrendous exchange rate, I’d be into just the bracelet and ratchet extension for well over $200 Canadian!😳😢

    I have a Deep Blue Juggernaut 4 bracelet and I wanted to change it with HELM Diver Extension clasp. The problem was HELM clasp have thicker pin size (2mm) compared to the original(1.5mm), so the pin doesn't fit through the link hole. What should I do? Should I drill the links in order for the pin to fit or do you have a better idea? I heard strap code also use thicker pin size 1.8mm-2mm. Please help, thanks.

      It would be uncomfortable with those corners against the wrist. It's not something to use when your body changes through the day. Unfortunately.
      I can see the use Mark mentioned, and it's nice that you can snug it after putting it on the wetsuit.
      I just wish they paid attention to those inside corners when they designed it. If they had thought about possible daily use, I'd be buying one post-haste.

    A bit ugly buckle there. And huge too. I’ll stick to rubber or nato for versatility. ;)

    Strapcode is bad 👎 specially the pins that it comes with as they easily bent and will come undone and your watch will hit the ground hard, like it happened to mine ! I am going to warn all watch lovers to avoid buying there strap.
