Our highway patrol has been using HEMI powered Chargers since 2006, and the officers love them. Besides being faster, and better handling than the Crown Vics, officers say that they are just as durable, which makes sense, since both the HEMI and the NAG1 tranmission are bulletproof.

Many of those problems you refer to, can be eased by buying either a civilian Crown Victoria,
a Mercury Grand Marquis, or a police model used by high ranking officers, fire marshals, or detectives.
The National Park Police also used Crown Victorias, and those cars had an easier life than
a city, county, or state police patrol unit.

I have a 2011 crown Vic. It’s my second one. I can back what you said about the car it’s easy and fun to drive, easy to maintain , tons of customization options and more. This car rocks the highway, with cruise control set at 65-70, no one will be in your way. I had the fun of building my own center console with a radio and armrest vision built in, looks badass and it’s something you’d never be able to do in a more normal car. The seats are so comfortable it makes a long trip feel like you’re relaxing on a sofa. The interior besides that is extremely basic and black plastic. In the future I think it would be cool to replace all the black plastic trim with a softer material from a normal civilian Vic. So many things about this car that just amazes me. Idc what people call me driving this thing, wacker, grandpa, etc. I don’t care I love driving my land yacht.

This may have made it very easy to steal my car in broad daylight. I eventually threw away the key, so I cannot confirm that mine was one, but it makes a lot of sense. If I were to get another, I would put in a hidden kill switch. Check the number stamped on the key and look here and if it matches one of these it is a fleet key:

I LOVE the Vic. drives so smooth and feels the same at any speed over 25 MPH. Another upside is no one will beat you off the light, fear strikes them if they think you are a cop. That happened to me a few times. I told a friend of mine who is a policeman about it and he rolled out laughing. He knows I drove with a white shirt and my truckers headset, not to try to look like a cop, I just liked white shirts.
