FM 2023‘s new physics are really well done, but the upgrade system is probably worse than some of these sounds. FM7 looks & sounds better sometimes, it looks newer too sometimes.
Also it's dosent even have rear wheel steering. Horizon 5 does, so why does this built from the ground up game not? lol

I think that’s exactly what it is the sounds in Forza Motorsport 8 sound like real life they have a more natural sound but Forza Motorsport 7 they just sound more appealing to the ears but some of these cars they completely miss the mark

Fantastic car list for the year it came out, a great mix of serious AND silly game modes (rip car soccer😔) - Autovista actually being good (narrated by Jeremy Clarkson 😩) - Open public lobbies, better overall track list, better progression, manufacture affinity, no stupid upgrading system. Ugh:(
And the last game with Fuji Kaido track which was absolutely sick and it should be in every forza game.

To be fair, most of the cars in FM7 sounded bad and extremely unnatural. But FM8 takes it a notch further and makes them all sound like vaccum cleaner.
Yeah I get that but some of us like the bit of exaggeration in the sounds that’s what makes you feel like you’re going crazy fast. Although doesn’t make much sense for the lower end cars. As Clarkson once said, “still…. Could be worse…”

Forza Horizon 5 improved on its car sounds after feedback from the community.
Whereas its sim focused sibling actually seemed to go backwards from the previous installment. And FM reboot is a newer game than both.
Build from the ground up my ass- tells you a lot when the "arcade" game got the sounds better than its more supposedly serious sim sibling.
But the sounds in fh5 are trash and nothing close to the real thing for a majority of cars 😑

After hearing those car sounds, im genuinely wondering what happened because for the majority of them they all sounded worse in motorsport compared to Fm7, and im like how? the 812 sounding like a n/a v8 is hilarious and yes i get that some of sound's in Fm7 were maybe a tad unrealistic but id rather have unrealistic amazing sounding cars rather than this, Also the gt350 r's new is down right disrespectful. Im praying to god we get a sound update fast, also the new upgraded system as you say is bad.

Minor detail but I loveee the way some of the cars shift I'm fm7. Especially in single clutch cars like the aventador.

Hearing the 2012 Aventafor in FM7 for the first time made my giggle like a little fuckin kid. Some of these in the new one sound pretty bad. I'm on my knees begging for a sound update.

In addition to being disappointed with the graphics and sounds, I was disappointed with the car list too, no Zondas, no Murcielago, no aventador 2012, aventador SV, huracan 2014, no Sesto Elemento, no Aston Martin one-77, no Aston Martin v12 vantage, besides there is only 1 Alfa Romeo??? Why only 1?? Considering they recently came back in fh5, no lancia, no BMW m3 e92, no m4 2014, m5 e60, no Camaro zl1 2012, no Maserati granturismo, just 2 koeniseggs!! where is the one:1? Regera? Agera 2011? CC8S? CCX? And where is the 2012 gtr? No veyron ss, this is unacceptable, half of the cars that appeared in previous forzas are not there, and there are also a lot of GT cars from previous motorsports missing
And they keep using outdated models, the model of the s15 still trash, same for the mk4 r32,

No f430, 458, turbo s, clk gtr AMG, 599 or 599gto, noble m600, c6 z06. V8 vantage, base Gallardo etc Etc Though they brought back certain cars like the 07 997.1 gt3. But left out the 997.2 rs4.0.
I’m sure there are other cars we are missing and just can’t think of. They also brought back the Lexus LFA but you need to complete part of career to get it and the sound just isn’t the same as old games. So strange. It’s like the old team that was passionate is gone and they just have people making a game, not a racing game

In my opinion, FM6 was arguably the best sounding of all the Motorsport games. It was clean yet aggressive, natural yet appealing. It was honestly perfect

On one hand, they removed the obnoxiously loud road cars, but in the process kinda made racecars lose their well... racecar noises.
Some sounds that were good or decent before just got masacred but some got reworked in a good way (like the F355 or the 918)

How the cars sound in a racing game is one of the main reasons, at least for me, when deciding on a purchase. Sadly with the new Forza, they have ruined the sounds.

every single FM8 cars in this video got that "base sound" which sound exactly like a vacuum cleaner, they just tone it so they sound slightly different for each car lol
To be honest, I think that the only car sounds that actually improved is the peugot 905 evo and maybe ferrari f355. Everything else degraded lmao.
My thoughts as well. I know forza 7s sounds are not exactly realistic, but they are at least fun and raw to listen to. The new game isn't even realistic with the sounds either, and they made almost all the cars sound boring/dull, what a joke.
I mean the 905 is one of my favorite Le mans cars ever, and it does sound better in the new forza, but that isn't enough for me to buy the game when everything else looks like a downgrade lol
@@Skumtomten1the new games sounds as a whole are a lot more realistic. The proper race cars still don't sound gutted but there is a noticeable difference. The way all the sounds come together inside the cabin is different compared to previous forzas.

Forza, GT7, F1 games... they all look and feel like remastered games rather than whole new next gen game engine builds

I waited six years for this game to come out only for it to have less features than its predecessor.
Here are some things that are missing on this new Forza, that were included in Forza 7. Some of them you can even see displayed here.
-Animated interior parts (The windscreen wipers and other parts like the gearshift would vibrate in accordance to speed and engine revs.
-Animated exhaust pipes. (These would be dynamically linked to the engine revs, and would shake independently from the car model.
-Animated Spoiler Turbulence. (You would visualize the airflow bending and twisting the edges of your cars spoiler, if going fast enough. Also present in Horizon 5)
-Both player cars and AI cars will get dirt, rubber patches and dusty on its lower bodywork and windows if racing long enough.
- Puddles will accumulate on certain areas of the track and will generate aquaplaning.
Superficial perhaps, but it's never pleasant seeing a sequel going backwards on what the previous entry managed to add. Sorta gives me that vibe of EA's Sims, launching and relaunching the pets expansion over and over again and calling it a revolution after people forget it was already implemented 8 years ago.
I dont know what game you've been playing because the only one of those fm8 doesn't have is the puddles...

Oddly enough to me some of the cars don’t sound bad and in my opinion a handful even sound better the fm7. I can kinda hear what they’re going for, more natural engine noises and not so aggressive sounding ones like m7 was, which works for a few of the cars but for a lot just feels like a downgrade when if they toned up a few aggressive notes in the exhaust it’d sound so much better

All the engine sounds in Motorsport 7 had a accelaration rev and all had their unique sound that adds personality and realism whereas in Motorsport 2023 the sounds are the same as each other like they are all evs or some shit, I guess turn 10 didn't had the money to pay the automotive companies permission for the sound samples or were too lazy.

I think my favorite FM is FM2. I still play it daily.
I'd say around 1/3 of the cars sound the same, 1/3 of the cars sound worse, and 1/3 sound better. But that's a LOT of cars that sound worse, considering it *SHOULD* be 3/3 of the cars sounding better.

1:09 This is the kind of shit that's inexcusable to me. The shift lights on this car worked in FM7 and then miraculously don't work in FM8. One has to ask where the developers' priorities lie when they can't get something that simple working or forget to make them work entirely.

I do like the gear shifts however, I feel like some cars should keep the harsher gear shifts in my opinion. I would say that around half of the car sounds need work, some sounds are fine.

The thing i find so disappointing we just want a aggressive raw clean sound that sounds realistic it sucks that in the trailer a camaro with a supercharger sounds so good but when you get in the game it sounds like a V6 that you barely hear a whine even the hellcat and demon are disappointing for the 3rd game in a row rhey been in 😭

I just recently imported that Shelby GT350R sound into Forza Horizon 5 from Forza Motorsport 7. I couldn't take it anymore that it sounded like a Coyote and not the proper Voodoo engine.

The idling sounds are phenomenal in FM8.
The sounds certainly need an update. They need to be more aggressive, with more high end and mid range frequencies. Without the mid range they sound so hollow. Some cars sound great though. And the interiors look miles better compared to FM7.

Why do I feel like all the focused on was the damn environment. Because FM7 seem to have better rendering and resolution. FM8 looks like it's rendered at 1080p and the trees alone looks crisp lol
