  • One of the most recognized liveries ON EARTH wrapped on MLW's own M420 locomotive for BCRail is now available from 'Diesel Workshop' for Train Simulator Classic.
This pack seems to continue the greatness from the CN M420 pack adding some new bits as well as a booster/cabless (B) unit and 3 liveries.

SP, every time you release a video, I feel my wallet getting lighter, even when the product you review is free. How does that happen? LOL Thanks for another thorough review!

Sean, that would require me to actually work, which I am HIGHLY opposed to as a retired person....LOL. Who knows, maybe I'll dabble in that someday, but don't hold your breath!😁@@schnauzahpowahz

I got to operate one of these when I was a teen riding with a crew for Ohio Central back in the early 2000's. I loved it, but the engineer did not. They only had one brake shoe per wheel, and were not ideal for switching. The engineer routinely let me run the train and switch customers. I can tell you it had one hell of a cab heater, and i loved the hot plate. It was an ex-CN unit.
Edit: It had "Contact the Diesel Doctor regarding defects" stenciled on the front wall. The engine didn't "lub lub lub" like it sounds here. It was a 4 cycle and it hummed. It didn't hit 8 cylinders on each stroke. It was balanced. It was more rythmic.

What a lost opportunity to do Atomic Train engines! 😂
Iirc though, they did have the B units painted with the single stripe for even a short time in the 70s! 😁

All I can think of when I see BCRail's red white and blue is Leslie Nielsen getting chased through the forest by the train in Wrongfully Accused.
Another wonderful video on another wonderful engine by DW. Thanks Ms for sharing, Schnauz!

We need a Squamish sub or Lillooet sub to run these on! BCR has a fascinating history, it belonged to the Province for most of its history, and original line wasn’t finished until the 50s. The original diesels were bright orange RS3s, everything got painted green later. The tricolour scheme is my favourite by far. CN has gutted everything now, barely anything runs on the south end anymore. Some of the most challenging and spectacular railroaing anywhere!

So we could recreate the Atomic Train movie :) There's already the Lillooet sub for TS but it's very very old and I don't think it's still available.

There is a sound update on their website. The horn is way louder now. However, distance still has no effect. You back way out away from the loco, and the horn still sounds like you're right beside it

I thought the prime mover sound was a bit too weak and the "ALCO chug" was not as prominent. Not "chuggy" enough, especially at notch 8. The horn is way too weak.

You hire on as a conductor and pass your rules and once you have some experience you go into training ,rules, mechanical, air brake courses .Then you go training with experienced engineers for 6 months then you’re on your own.If you have to go on another subdivision where you are not qualified you go with a qualified engineer on that subdivision for to get experience on that subdivision or piece of track.
