The Firm was a really crazy one bc the way they debuted made you think they were gonna be impactful. Then on the first Dynamite after the PPV, MJF said these guys will be on retainer and then weren’t ever on retainer??? Then never given a real story? Insane
The point of the Welcoming Committee group was to take down Charlotte Flair when she moved from Raw to SmackDown. Then they randomly reformed for someone else, I think the Riott Squad. I never really saw them as a faction anyway.
The point of the group was to turn Charlotte face so they had all the SD heels going after Charlotte which made the top faces Naomi & Becky fight with Charlotte which led to a PPV match(where Becky takes the loss). The problem is why are they "welcoming" Tamina who also just came to SD like Charlotte. Also another reason was to set up feuds for Charlotte down the line when they make her champ again. Natalya eventually won the title just to lose it to Charlotte & Carmella eventually beats Charlotte for the title with her MITB. WWE wanted Charlotte to be the #1 SD face of the women so they basically buried Naomi & Becky & pushed the top heels(Welcoming Committee) for Charlotte to overcome.
Also the Nightmare Collectove backlash started before the group event debuted. People saw a vague vignette (a wrestling staple) but heard Brandi talking. That was all it took. It wasn't gonna matter8f they were good after some people heard Brandi talk. And then they actually did suck.
