    Hey everyone.
I'm watching this video post-fracture. I never armwrestled professionally but I've done it with friends at the bar many times for years, until this time the worst happened. I got a spiral fracture in my right humerus just 5 seconds in, and after watching this video I finally know why. None of the doctors have given me an explanation and it makes sense now, I was kinda losing and left my arm behind, putting so much rotation and pressure in my right upper arm with no support from the body, and to add things up I drank quite above my limit, so my bone couldn't take it at all. I'm now recovering and will start rehabilitation in a few weeks, but the worst hit was at my nerve. My humerus was displaced so it pinched the radial nerve and almost broke it, which means I didn't lose mobility on my arm for good by a milimeter. The surgeon told me that he found the nerve half cut, but with time it will heal, thank god. For now I have partial paralysis, which means I can't lift almost anything, cant drive, write, etc, but now I'll have a plate and 6 screws forever in my arm thanks to me not doing it properly.
So please learn from my mistakes because I don't wish this to happen to anyone else, think before you do stupid shit. I'm only 24

I broke my arm as well, i didn’t need any plates or screws it was also a spiral fracture didn’t hit any nerves, its been 3 years now and i can do everything any normal person can with their arms my only problem is that every once in a while i get aches and tenderness in the area where i broke my bone, other than that things are pretty normal definitely take rehab seriously because all your upper body muscles will be imbalanced which can cause injuries due to them overcompensating for your broken arm, it sucks its not an easy thing to recover from but you got it! im glad i at least still have four functional limbs which is still very lucky and a lot to be thankful for when not everyone is that fortunate, I recovered so im positive you will as well but it will take patience and perseverance I was 21 when it happened and also under the influence of something haha…

    What I've learned:
    1. Lose and win with your whole body
    2. Shoulder rotating inwards, because beginners eagerly want to win: Broken Arm position
-> tendons are pulling on the bone
    3. Should do: Look at arms all the time/ pull al the time, no matter the position/ stay close to the arm

I was always good at Armwrestling against the amateurs but these things like the "Hook" and "Toproll" are new to me.
My "secret" was just to be close to my arm.
I am watching many videos but theory is not enough.
One question... Can I start with the Hook and finish with the Toproll (change hand position)??
Of course I have to do this as fast as I can.

@dakax4303 still not 100%, but it's more from fearing the pain and my body shielding itself.
I've started to deliberately push myself to pain the last couple months and I'm seeing improvement. There's a reduction in the pain I would feel from other exercises like pull ups and chest presses now.
I'm going to earnestly try to get back to my previous strength. Right now I can do 50lb dumbell chest presses, and I'd like to get to 80lb by the end of the year.
I don't think I'll get full range of motion. It does feel like hitting a wall at my max extension. However, no issues with daily life activities.

I am watching Armwrestling videos almost daily for years but just started pulling on table two weeks ago. I also switched from pull to push whenever trying to go for the pin. It was very light sparring and the veterans there immediately stopped and explained to me that I need to continue pulling. It feels so weird pulling when you want to pin someone hence I am not surprised that the concept is hard to understand and that arm breaks happen often. The guys I was pulling knew instantly that I switched from pulling back to pushing sideways because all the force disappeared for him while for me I didn’t notice and it simple felt that I am going for pin strongly 😅. Really looking forward to my second session now. I understand that I need to pull and pretend to be falling backwards under the table. The reason why this was so hard for me is because my back pressure is extremely weak and much weaker than my pronater. I realized that I won’t pin anyone for a long time until I can PULL their hand to the pad for the win. But I know that I will be save and not break my arm. Glad to have good guys around me, despite them being casual amateurs as well.

I snapped my arm 6 weeks ago arm wrestling, wish I found this video sooner. I was winning the arm wrestle close to touching the pad and my humerus snapped. I didn’t move my body with it enough and the bone couldn’t take it.
Narrowly missed my radial nerve, had a long plate and screws. Still have no strength but I am undergoing intensive physio.
The issue occurs when you have a few drinks in a bar and you don’t support with your body, the crazy thing is your muscles will feel fine but your bone can still snap.
My arm felt fine and the bone felt good but seemed to snap while I was just inches from winning the arm wrestle.
    Stay save guys

The amount of stress going thru your humerus/upper arm tendons during actual armwrestling cannot be understated, or compared in any way to any other gym lift or even armwrestling specific lifts

@@voiceofarmwrestling Sure it does. This is very useful video as every other video from your channel. If there was more people watching those videos about safety arm wrestling- we wouldn't have "AW Broken arms compilations" hehe.
