Tried to save time after my girlfriends original Honda alternator took a dump. Ran to advanced and spent $200 on a remanufactured one and it was only putting out 12.7 volts. Thanks for the video it helped me prove I wasn't crazy 😂 returned it and ordered the one you put in the link. We can wait a few days to save a $100 and keep the original Honda one in case I decide to get it rebuilt. 👍

With my old alternator the car couldn’t keep a charge now that I’ve bought a new one the battery light comes on while I’m driving and it died as I was on the road should I just buy a new one please help me
there is an alternator fuse under dash drivers side, you also have a eld in fuse box that controls voltage for alternator

I found the answer on another video and by reading my Honda service manual. There's a current sensor built into the underhood fuse box. When that goes bad, the voltage will be bad, erratic, whatever. Also, Honda design their cars so that when it is running and has no electrical load (like when idling with a/c off, the voltage drops down to 12.6 (determined by the current sensor). Also, there's a fuse on the inside fuse box that can blow out and cut power to one of the 2 circuits on that system, and therefore give a false reading so the BATTERY idiot-light comes on. That happened to mine, and it was caused by a bad AutoZone alternator (2 years old, purchased brand new, not a rebuild). Changed the fuse and alternator and it works now.
Having the same problem, the battery is an older battery testing at 12 v not running and with it running it’s at 14 , cranks and everything exactly like yours could it maybe be the battery ? Or an bad starter ?
Can you find a date on the battery?….there should be a tiny sticker on the sides of the battery. If its more than 5 years old the battery life is done. Car batteries typically only last 5 years….even though it shows 12 volts the cranking amps are dead. Hope this helps
Okay I have a 2005 v6 ex accord. This year alone I've burnt up two alternators can you possibly give me a few tips as to whats killing the alternators so fast
Sure bud….well let ask a few questions. #1- Do you have any after market electronics hooked up like a subwoofer amp stereo?….#2- are these alternators brand new or reman (rebuilt)?
Do you have a boom-boom 🔊🔊🎵 sound system you like to crank up your favorite music to?
I have the battery light on i put in a new alternator and a battery and accord still dies out what else could it be?
When it dies…,does it fire right back up? Or cranks only?
Also just noticed the original was 110 amps and the new one is 120. Can't hurt😆
My alternator only puts out 12 volts, so check the signal wire to it (the field) and it is only 9 volts! With a full charge battery! How can that be?
You most likely have an amp draw somewhere. I’d be concerned with the alternator not reading 14 volts with the engine running.

I’d say they are pretty good… it’s still holding up fine til this day. I will say if you buy it locally from a parts store you will pay more unfortunately. Save yourself some money and buy it online.
Don’t make me laugh any alternator except OEM will fail within a year😂
