    Hi! I was able to go mostly by your instructions to fix my 2010 Sebring; there were just a couple extra parts to undo the air filter. And a few hoses required some light pushing with a slotted screwdriver to get a bit loose so that I could wrestle them off. I didn't see any sign of breakage or warping of the plastic housing; just the square-ish gasket seemed fairly flat, and the thermostat that goes against the engine had rubber that was very flat and started coming apart easily. So I bought just that new thermostat for about $15.00 and a $2.99 square-ish gasket and put it all back together. I noticed at first that my heater wasn't getting hot afterward while idling. I drove a couple minutes and it kicked in. After the car is warmed up, the thermostat gauge also gets just a bit above halfway then cycles to just below halfway. I'll re-check fluid levels tomorrow but didn't see any sign of new leakage. I'm very grateful to people such as yourself who have taken the time to post such great vids and helpful information! Thanks, and I hope you are able to get some great help whenever you may need it, as well!!!!

    That seems like simple job,I had the same replaced by a mechanic here in California,to be exact the name is nave automotive in novato CA, a few days after it was replaced,the check engine light came on, I went to a friend or mine and hook the machine and it was the p0128 lower coolant temp,so I called the place and their told me to take it back and so their can check it, I did and their nicely told me that I their will reset the computer and if it comes back their will assume that their gimme the wrong thermostat and their will replaced I sure hope so,after 700 buck! Light came back and I called them so their told me to take it back and I did,for my surprise their told me that their gonna check it again and go from there, next their tell me that is has 3 codes now! Thermostat oil and some coolant flush! But their couldn't get the thermostat that day till later, I live about an HR away and I couldn't wait,so their ask me again if I can go back again another day! I'm just hopping that their fix it this time and their not gonna play the same game. But at least I know how to do iT myself ........but their sure did it cause is under their warranty.

    If it's just a thermostat replacement, why replace the housing?

    • @akustaka
      @akustaka 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The housing is made of plastic and exposed to rapid heating/cooling from ambient temperature, coolant flowing through it, and the heat from the engine. It gets brittle and cracks easily over time. Not to mention the Dodge Avenger of this model with that housing, has TWO thermostats. So why not get a fresh housing that comes with 2 new thermostats, and the peace of mind knowing that the new housing should last while. The two thermostats (if buying from reputable brands) cost upwards of 55-85 dollars depending on the brands. the new housing using with OEM thermostats is roughly 110 after taxes. Not to mention if your gonna take it off why not just replace it with a new one :)

      @DULLAHGOSOHARD  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Antonio Mayoral Romo Check the fan and make sure you bleed the system properly

    • @antoniomayoral
      @antoniomayoral 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dullah Gosohard yes the fan is ok, i think not purge the radiator, how drain the radiator? Because the water is not pass

    • @DULLAHGOSOHARD
      @DULLAHGOSOHARD  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Antonio Mayoral Romo did you change both thermostat and you can drain the radiator by removing the lower radiator hose and there should be a bleeder on the bottom of the radiator to drain it

    • @djsi38t
      @djsi38t 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Air gets in the system,you have to seal a tall funnel in the radiator and fill it with anti freeze,air will rise to the highest point in the system that's why a tall funnel with a tight seal to the rad will become the highest point.then air will work its way to the funnel and out.also squeeze the rad hose to help push out air.and you can pull the temp sensor to help air to escape.run the engine with heater on high to do this.

    That was a really good video but you left out the part where you either put new O-rings in or use sealer of some sort that would have been a very helpful thing to show someone taking it out and putting it back in doesn't fix the the problem you need to seal it or do something in the video did not show that why

    • @DULLAHGOSOHARD
      @DULLAHGOSOHARD  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't put back the old part and the new parts came with the orings so i didn't have to put any form of sealer on it and i change it because it was leaking

    I think the reason why you have a hundred and four thumbs down is because mechanics don't want you to show this video cuz it's not really hard to do it yourself and why pay someone an arm and a leg
