Sold my first gen switch last year and got a PS5. And what should i say, just bought an OLED again. The First Party Titles are just unbeatable. Most games that i could play on the Steam Deck i can play on the PS5 aswell. So the Switch is still the king of handhelds!
Can't ever recommend the OG anymore, for a mere $50 the OLED screen is totally worth it. The OG unless you find it used cheap is ewaste imo. It's lite or OLED imo.
Though I have a v2. I got a deal for a brand new OLED for around $170. I think the OLED is the definitive Switch and playing my old games on it made me feel like the games are new again.
@@KEvin-qw9xz I am from the Philippines, we have Shopee (its like our Amazon), the Switch was on sale for like 11,000 Philippine Pesos plus Shopee had a 1,000 peso off voucher. So all in all, 10,000 pesos.
I say buy a limited edition switch because this is gonna be your last chance to buy a new switch and those usually hold their value if kept in good condition.
I only bought a swich just just last year (2023) the oled model, was my first switch. Do not regret it at all. Played it more than my playstaion I think after a year than than I did the whole time I had my playstation for, kinda fell of gamming. Within a year I already kind of felt like I got my moneys woth over 300hours just in BOTW that game bought me so much entertainment. I was ill last year in bed enjoying botw for my entertainment. My only regret with the switch was that I did not buy it sooner. I had thought about it b4 but like I said i fell of gaming. I can only imagine how much joy and use I would have got out of it during lockdown. However I'm not sure if I would by one for the first time now in 2024 since supposedly there's a new console next year. It really depends how much you will use it between now and then like I said I think I got my use out of it after a year. So for someone like me it would be worth it if there's a lot of games you want to play but then again if the next console is backwards compatible you could have the new console and still original switch games anyway. I have enjoyed my switch enough since last year that if a new console come out next year I will probably buy it when it's released or if not then maybe 2026. I usually like to not by consoles when they first come out incase there are any issues so I can get is once they fixed any teething problems from the first batch.
I’m glad you are doing better! That’s great to hear. I agree with you, if there are a ton of games that you might be interested in playing, then buy one and if not, wait it out. Still no word on the Switch 2, so we will continue to wait. Thanks for the comment! 🙂
I’d love a switch but I’m guessing at this point it’s worth waiting until the S2 is announced as presumably the current versions will plummet in price.
you could find one on a huge discount either on eBay or Black Friday sales! there’s so many games for Switch, it’ll still be a very good device for years to come!
I'm 40 years old and haven't been keeping up with systems since 2001 lol. I just got the switch this month. I play it handheld mainly. I got the og model and it's been awesome. Been playing Zelda botw and I'm having a great experience. I didn't know it was 7 year old. But it's cool. I see new games coming out also. Great video
Very useful, thank you. I’ve never had any console, but our son wants the OLED for Christmas and i wanna get one now so we can bond over his interests. I’m leaning towards the ACNH special edition for myself tho,, cos i don’t care about the latest and greatest, the bigger screen, etc. etc. I like the retro vibe tbh…guess I’m of that generation or something.
I just bought a Switch cause Ive always wanted one, the games alone are enough for me and knowing its still a very popular console helps a lot. I bet ill get the best of its lifetime out of it still even if a newer one comes out

@@nanox4825well probably because it has a very big library of games and also the switch 2 may not get an oled screen for a while, it’s hard to go back to a normal screen like an lcd when you get an oled
Jus bought mine yesterday because of the 7/7 sale. And i don’t think that there will be a Nintendo Switch 2 but rather they will improve more and give more variety on their games
For someone who isn’t a sweat and doesn’t play Fortnite for 12 hours a day or other competitive games, it’s definitely worth getting. Obviously it’s quality isn’t going to compare to an Xbox or a PlayStation, don’t know why your comparing a handheld device to a a ps or Xbox that you can’t bring anywhere. If you just play games to relax after a long day of work or school or just to pass a little bit of time, I definitely recommend a switch

this is so true! PC and PS5 mostly share the same library, but you can’t say that about Nintendo!
glad to hear your enjoying your Switch!

100%! the OLED is so nice, hard to go back once you see the screen
Can the oled version be jailbroken???
dang how did you snag that deal

if its going to be docked, just get the OG model (non oled) and it will have the dock included!
During the pandemic, I bought the OG model. Sold it in mid-2023
Plan to get OLED model rather than the Switch 2 whenever that comes out.
Interesting, this is the first comment I've seen getting an OLED rather than the Switch "2".
How come?

The answer is no, buy an oled.
Short answer: no. Get an oled, and be happy.

Buy it used. Should not be too hard getting a regular/lite switch for like 100 dollars/euro.
this is the move
I want one to play Pokémon arcues lol but the new Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored but not confirmed yet
Just get the OLED I highly recommend botw totk and odyssey
I never played the new Pokémon, but I was interested in Arceus due to the new gameplay, looked fun!
i wanted to buy one now but knowing the switch 2 is coming it is not worth to pay full price maybe if i find a used one cheaper
eBay always has some sort of deal!
