I own a series X and every time I hear backwards compatibility it just irritates me. I have too many games that were on Xbox 360 that will not play... Walking Dead survival instincts, Aliens colonial Marines, ext.

I’m a ps4 owner but I won’t pay $700 for digital only ps5 pro nor pay $80 disk attachment. I am willing to purchase Xbox series X special edition 2TB for 600 as it comes with 2TB plus Blu-ray drive. I missed out on this generation of consoles because of the pandemic. Even years after I couldn’t find either one. So now since I have gaming laptop plus games pass it makes more sense get Xbox series X as my ps4 ruined my copy of stargate. Also I never bought systems solely due to the gaming library. I bounced from psone Xbox ps3 ps4 so I’m no fanboy. I even briefly had Wii and 360. I loved handheld as I had psp, vita, dslite, switch and before that game gear and gameboy advanced sp. I grew up Atari 2600 then genesis. I never was Nintendo guy.

I bought Nintendo switch , quality is very bad , don't recommend. Ps or Xbox are much better.

I love my switch OLED I mostly play in handheld mode but I use the kickstand and my new Hall effect 8bitdo pro 2 gc classic edition! I also got new shells for my joycons

The best way to finish your backlog is by not adding to it. STOP buying new games all the time and focus on the backlog. Play 5 or 10 games from your backlog then play ONE new game, then go back to another 5 or 10 games. Rinse. Repeat. Also: CLIP. THE MIC. TO. YOUR. SHIRT. It's a bad look holding it like a Derp. That's WHY the clip is there.

I'm 40 years old and haven't been keeping up with systems since 2001 lol. I just got the switch this month. I play it handheld mainly. I got the og model and it's been awesome. Been playing Zelda botw and I'm having a great experience. I didn't know it was 7 year old. But it's cool. I see new games coming out also. Great video

During the pandemic, I bought the OG model. Sold it in mid-2023 Plan to get OLED model rather than the Switch 2 whenever that comes out.

Can't ever recommend the OG anymore,for a mere $50 the OLED screen is totally worth it. The OG unless you find it used cheap is ewaste imo. It's lite or OLED imo.

So after owning both PS5 and Xbox series X I would like too say ps5 all the way … the remote felt cheap from Xbox and made loud clicking noises .. the graphics looked terrible on my tv and for Some reason the Xbox would turn off mid game .. also the lag killed me with game pass …. Xbox seems more accessible because it’s cheap .. ps5 seems like a quality product .. my internet runs fine so it’s weird that the ps5 played cod effortless but on the series x it was laggy and the quality look terrible

My comfort game seems to be Hades and its sequel and I couldn't believe it. Me. Someone who likes to play jrpgs with battle systems that don't need you to think on the fly suddenly finds rest and enjoys every moment in the dodging and hack and slash nature of Hades. And btw, I don't like the idea of roguelikes or rouguelites at all.

It's funny because FIFA used to be my comfort game between all the big releases - then it became more of an obsession, newest FIFA after newest FIFA, hundreds of hours into Ultimate team, to then need a break from that and going to Pokemon as my comfort games

I thought this was going to be a psychology video, but what I actually got was a bit of a personal opinion ramble. Your title and thumbnail are a bit misleading :/ If you want the true answer to why you're always drawn back to a particular game, it's for mental exercise - in the same way you need physical exercise, you also need mental exercise and the reason you're drawn to that particular game is to reassure your mind of what you can do (a bit like remembering a memory, so nostalgia is one aspect.) It doesn't require learning anything new, it's the mental equivalent of a swimmer going through the strokes or a runner exercising their favourite path. You're probably deterred from newer games because learning new things is daunting to you. Subconsciously, in the past you may have had terrible experiences with learning - such as being bored being made to sit and do nothing while waiting for the rest of your class to finish their work/test in school - or worse, bullied while you were learning either by staff or students and it puts you off learning something new unless someone you trust shows you the ropes. The reason you may be drawn to a new game is because it has the same aspects as ones you've usually/previously played but maybe improved with new features, such as better graphics, new characters, new story or new mechanics that don't deviate too much from the originals (example, fifa.)

I only bought a swich just just last year (2023) the oled model, was my first switch. Do not regret it at all. Played it more than my playstaion I think after a year than than I did the whole time I had my playstation for, kinda fell of gamming. Within a year I already kind of felt like I got my moneys woth over 300hours just in BOTW that game bought me so much entertainment. I was ill last year in bed enjoying botw for my entertainment. My only regret with the switch was that I did not buy it sooner. I had thought about it b4 but like I said i fell of gaming. I can only imagine how much joy and use I would have got out of it during lockdown. However I'm not sure if I would by one for the first time now in 2024 since supposedly there's a new console next year. It really depends how much you will use it between now and then like I said I think I got my use out of it after a year. So for someone like me it would be worth it if there's a lot of games you want to play but then again if the next console is backwards compatible you could have the new console and still original switch games anyway. I have enjoyed my switch enough since last year that if a new console come out next year I will probably buy it when it's released or if not then maybe 2026. I usually like to not by consoles when they first come out incase there are any issues so I can get is once they fixed any teething problems from the first batch.
