The lyrics of this song is not so much a list of their beliefs, but more like a conversation between the various branches of spirituality and science, trying to find a middle way
Oh yes, KOH part 1. There’s a bunch of fans that prefer this version (beautiful version and I get why they prefer this one), but I personally prefer the one in Omega Alive, just because video and audio quality is excellent. Either way, masterpiece. By the way, I believe they talk about the concept of reencarnation and not ghosts. In some religions the concept of heaven is similar to Christians in a sense, but humans need to ‘polish’ their souls in several lifes by sorting different experiences and learning/becoming wiser/gods. I don’t believe in this but I find it interesting. Kingdom of Heaven part 3 MUST be from Omega Alive. Kingdom of Heaven part 2 as many mentioned, is the less bombastic of the trilogy and not played live, but that’s a great song anyway and I suggest you check their studio/lyric version. P.S. I get you about your new crush =)
There's also a common theme in a bunch of belief systems from around the world in death being a rite of passage, and that you need to prepare to navigate the afterlife. Failure on that front leads to reincarnation over and over again. Successful navigation leads to dissolving into a greater unity and thus ending the cycle of physical incarnation, or you alternatively keep your consciousness and continue on in a non-physical form. That is what Epica touches on in the "Bardo Thodol" part of this song, and again in KoH Part 3 as well. And of course, the common part of all of these beliefs is that you really are a non-corporeal being inhabiting a corporeal body. Literally the literal meaning of In-Carnation, being in meat 😆
So, you have heard part 1 which was from their fourth studio album, Design Your Universe. Part 2 was the title track from their 6th studio album, The Quantum Enigma and part 3 is on their 8th studio album, Omega. There is no live version of part 2 but part 3 (and part 1) were part of their Omega Alive, livestream.
Great reaction!! New subscriber here! Epica is the summit of symphonic METAL! The Sun is under Epica today like never before, and it is their 21st year and staying always to their metal roots. Simone is Siren Of The Earth! I am thankful to many excellent symphonic metal bands like visions of Atlantis, Delain, within temptation, Xandria, Nightwish and others that were my gateway up to the greatness, power and beauty of Epica! This song here I truly believe to be the true anthem of a mega symphonic metal song. 🤘🏻😎🔥🔥
I do not often get touched by a song, but this one did, i had a NDE close to what is told in this song.. I asked Mark how he came so close and he told me that it is a compilation of a lot of NDE stories that had this in them. To him this stood out as something common. And even if you do not believe in such thing, i think you can imagine the positive impact it has on people, to be without a body is to be pure... life is not that important nor unimportant. It just is.
I did as well, I was 12 years old and almost drowned in a swimming pool. Got stuck under water after foolishly trying to swim under and behind a metal ladder hanging into the water. My vision went black from the edges inward from lack of oxygen, like a dark tunnel or looking into a high magnification rifle scope from the wrong angle. Then I sort of blinked out of my body, accompanied by what to me sounded like a loud earthshaking bang. Heard a voice that inhumanly calmly and with zero emotion said "not yet, go back". Blinked back into my body with another bang, and I was unstuck from the ladder and got a burst of energy that let me swim up to the surface again. I was shaken to the core and still remember the entire experience vividly now almost 30 years later. Also developed a strong belief that there is more to life after this. And I swear the voice sounded like my adult voice today, something I only realized once I got older and heard recordings of my own voice. Time and consciousness is perhaps a wonky and wonderous thing.
@@rolsen1304 thank you for sharing.. yes time is relative.. i have had several experiences in my life that i realized i had known the future moments perfectly... Proof that there is an entity outside of time, but only personal proof.. i cannot ever show it to others.. but i think those that need proof will get it, they just need to realize it when happening. And from that point of view, any source within time cannot know it all, it simply just does not have the time or space for it.. so i reject all religions as being true. But i do know they all are based on the truth.. then misunderstood by humans or souls in different ways..
@@johnvanmanen3149 and also as a point to @teckreacts reaction where he said a NDE would imply God made a mistake, I disagree. I had zero spiritual inclination before my NDE, and the NDE is what woke me up so to speak. Perhaps some of us are so dense we need a proper club to the head to start noticing the larger picture 😂
Thanks for sharing. I may have misspoke regarding near death experiences. I think those, sometimes, can be legit experiences. Whether that’s the chemical imbalance caused by trauma or what, I’m not sure. What I meant is that I don’t believe after permanent death spirits lurk about with “unfinished business” or go to purgatory.
@@teckreactions heh, do not worry about having misspoken or anything, we do not get offended easy after such an experience.. or maybe it is just me ^^ i can imagine spirits to have not learned the lessons needed or being stuck in time due to frustration to either haunt or reincarnate. But i do not believe in hell's eternal suffering, the sun will not burn forever... i think it is the new creation of earth spoken of. To keep the world turning it sometimes needs to be restarted... downside of time, it has always a beginning and an end. When humanity destroys this planet's life, it better have some kind of insurance.. outside of time it was known that we would destroy it. To let that happen can only be done knowing it is not the end of all creation. There has to be the end and the beginning..
Hi TECKreacts, KOH part 2 is called 'The Quantum Enigma' it's the least bombastic song out of the three, it has a different feel, and I love it, there are no decent live recordings of Pt 2, so go with the lyric version, it's great, Epica - The Quantum Enigma - Kingdom Of Heaven Part II - (With Lyrics)
Epica's song writing is extremely complex. The beliefs discussed within the trilogy are obviously not from a Christian viewpoint. I can't remember the name of the philosophy, but it is a humanistic based philosophy. If i can find it I'll let you know. From a musical viewpoint you need to listen to Part 3. Use the Omega Alive virtual concert. It's stunning
I am glad that you discovered KOH but this video does not have a good quality. The song is amazing but OMEGA alive version would have been a better option. But still I am happy that you are listening to Epica.
i don't really like this live version because it's not very good quality and is only good if you've heard the song before in a studio recording because in this quality of the live a lot of the song is just lost in the noise. But the song is absolutely gorgeous. You should hear it in other versions, studio or from the omega alive concert 😉
If he had done the Omega Alive version all the discussion around philosophy and spirituality would have never happened. This song deserves videos with subtitles, because it is thought provoking and always leads to discussion and interaction in chat and comment fields. Whenever I see reactors do KOH they always get more out of this fan version then the OA version. Just search through youtube and you will see the same. Now if we had the OA version with subtitles, that would be ideal!
Ummm. We’ve been a disaster for four years. I don’t want more of the same or worse. I’ll vote for who I think has the best policies to get our country back on track.
It is GREAT guitarist ISAAC DELAHAYE and SIMONE SIMONS. Do not mention EPICA with "nw" (small letters) music garbage (trash, waste). You are lover of "nw"!
