The other day, I was at Bunnings all day working on putting in a new fridge. I even went inside the Tradies area and it started raining was very handy toilets free drinking water chilled and even free coffee if you have a PowerPass . I asked the guy on the door. He said it was fine to stay there that they have people there all the time. It was reasonably quiet considering I was right in a big town. I have been free camping for decades never been fined. Talk to my way out of a few though.
Reasons to watch your vids: 1) I have a 21' RV - starting out to travel the US to visit all of the National Parks 2) The drone shots are beautiful - I hope to upload my own examples 3) Learning about solo traveling 4) The serenity in your voice... Please start a channel voicing bedtime stories ;-) Keep up the good work
Yes, your voice. I listen to Yoga Nidra for Sleep TH-cam videos by Ally Boothroyd and she is the only voice that puts me to sleep - I could really hear your smooth and gentle voice doing the same!
Love your videos, and your awesome Toyota camper. When I used to travel, I would park near Police stations when possible. I would also tell the officers behind the desk my purpose, and most of the time they were fine with it, especially in small country towns.
Wonderful information 😊 Picking up my van this weekend and am starting to scope the area I work 9-5 in for potential overnight spots. My main concern is being a target for tradie content theft being a large white van.
OMG yay!! I'm so excited for you!🙌🙌 I hope my tips help. I have had others say they have this same concern, so they park directly under street lights to try and deter anyone ☺
Think about signage for your van (magnetic) or for rear windows. Put in fake name of business like cleaning, chemical supplies, etc something they wont want steal. I have a fake costume clothing hire sign
That’s was such a great video full of really useful information- thank you! I’m currently out at sea for 6 weeks working, I like my job but sometimes it’s quite stressful so I always save your videos for my lunch break as I find them so relaxing to watch. Your van interior is absolutely gorgeous btw, the whole aesthetic is just so calming, I always look forward to your videos! Safe travels Christie 😊
I didn’t want to come back to sea, I was pretty much done with it tbh but I’m doing it for the love of vanlife lol! I sold my large van and bought a smaller one but turns out I was ripped off, it’s a death trap according to my mechanic! I did get some money back off the sellers (after legal advice!) but she still needs a fair bit of work. However I love my van, she is perfect for me, so I decided to fix her up as I know then she’ll be safe and reliable for future adventures! Just needed some dollars to get the work done, meanwhile I shall live vicariously through you 🤗
Great tips, thanks for sharing. I’ve been enjoying doing some stealth parking too. Thankfully I’ve never had any trouble so far but thanks for the tip about beeping the horn. I hadn’t thought of that. It’s definitely trickier for us women who have to worry about how safe we are in places.
I agree dont park on your own in remote areas. Recently i hired a juicy van and camped on an off road of the great ocean road. It was an isolated track and at 3am someone drove in to the rear of my van and then deliberately reversed and drove into the front. Luckily they then left and the van was driveable so i got out of there. It was a costly and scary event.
Interesting, I know that there is very little free parking for camping along the Great Ocean Road. I get the vibe its a place were the locals have a lot of attitude like.. 'not in my backyard' and 'you must pay to stay'. That's no excuse for damaging other people's property but WOW some people are vindictive!
Things that women have to keep in mind when travelling alone is obviously different to the male which is extremely unfair really, did think only seeing you once a week usually when I saw this pop up thought wow that week went fast , three years in the van that’s certainly a commitment = if you want the rainbow you’ve gotta put up with the rain , take care you = me .

Thank you so much for your support 🙏🤗 And for sharing this tip, I will have to remeber that one!
I have parked at petrol stations where trucks park out back but always park away from trucks nit blocking them. I feel safe with trucks around
Thanks so much for sharing this! 🙏☺
