Great video! It's so interesting and I think that all countries can be better, but need people like u that talk about the things that sometimes are not too good.
Spanish movies featuring gunplay are very popular in Spain. Here's but one example (there are hundreds more): Gun City (Spanish: La sombra de la ley) is a 2018 Spanish-French action thriller film directed by Dani de la Torre and written by Patxi Amezcua. Set in 1921 Barcelona, the plot displays anarchist struggle and police brutality as a backdrop. The cast features Luis Tosar, Michelle Jenner, Vicente Romero, Manolo Solo, Paco Tous, Jaime Lorente, Adriana Torrebejano and Ernesto Alterio.
But I never hear of Spaniards ACTING out with violence like Americans do EVERY day! How many MASS school shootings in Spain? (USA has DOZENS every year!) Or just mass shootings? Or just everyday gun deaths? Big DIFFERENCE
Great post. I am male, 66 and live UK. I can remember being in US and a very friendly native struck up a conversation, asking how I enjoyed America. I said I loved it, people were very kind, but I did not understand the gun thing. Very quickly the mood changed, he was very cold towards me, almost aggressive and said he could easily show me the way to the airport if I did not like US laws and constitution . So I don't mention the 'gun thing' any more ☺ Also I cannot imagine why Spanish/Hispanic descent would be met with racism. A Spanish person in UK would be treated as an absolute equal, only difference being that English was not their first language. But you are USA born. The mind boggles

Great video. You were spot on about gun violence, wastefulness, and having to drive everywhere. I've lived in many places worldwide, so it's very easy to see just how flawed the U.S. is in many ways. You can't get any dumber than electing a convicted felon on 34 felony charges and who committed treason by trying to overthrow a newly Democratically elected government. I take issue with Hollywood violent movies. I've traveled on buses throughout Ecuador and so many of the movies you will see have violent films from places like China as well as the U.S.
Your comments about driving everywhere is great. The reason is our zoning regulations. This was forced on the people so long ago that we consider it logical. We do not allow different types of businesses to be mixed up. So for example if I want a certain amount of wood I must drive to the nearest lumberyard. It's really crazy
Being English I didn’t even notice that you were Latino, you’re just a pretty young lady to me with a very interesting story to tell. My husband visited US a lot in the 1990s, I think the US now is a very different place to be. I have seen quite a lot of vlogs from people like you who now see the US as it really is after living in a different country. Stay safe Emma, I’m now subscribed. X
I don't understand what it means to be "Latino". Latino is nothing, it is not being from a country or a race. "Latino" is a stupid thing invented by the French and I don't understand why the inhabitants of Mexico and South America adopted it. In South America there are whites, blacks, indigenous people, mestizos... there are people of many races, like in many other parts of the world.
I want to move to Spain. I studied there twice for a very short period of time. I told my daughter if she were to have children that they must be raised in Europe and more specifically Spain or Portugal. I'm so tired of this country and all the propaganda and ignorant citizens. I've experienced racism numerous times, and it gets old. I'm at the point where I call them out and make sure they feel some shame for their behavior. I'll probably just have to leave for Spain, and my loved ones can follow
You should definitely move if you don't feel comfortable where you are now. Don't waste your mental health over constant abuse. I'd do the same if I could.
TS 1:49 was she a long time American? Long time Americans are usually friendly, it is a West Coast quintessential characteristic of a European American. Newcomers from some other cultures sometimes see interacting with people as rude. Example, in Asian culture, when someone gives you a gift, you take it home to open in private so you do not look greedy. However, if you do that in America at a party full of Americans, you will be seen as extremely rude. In America, you open the gift in front of the giver and exclaim your appreciation for the gift ( even if you already have 3 of what they are giving you at home). 😉

Had you stayed on the sidewalk and not gone into her yard, I think you would have been fine. It's just a no-no to trespass on people's property in the US. Hey, I'm about as liberal a person as there is, and I live in a very blue state, which I enjoy, but I don't like people I don't know coming into my yard uninvited or not for a legitimate reason. It just isn't done here. It's seen as a possible threat or sign of disrespect. Now, did she have to be so unpleasant? No. But after all, it is her house, not yours. My wife and I lived for ten years before we left our jobs to live and work in Guatemala and El Salvador. Then a few other countries and now living in Portugal. I believe more Americans are learning what you are presenting. We do have the most overweight people, we do have the most violence, we do seem to view one another as the enemy. All signs that the US empire is likely in a decline. It will be a difficult decision for us to return where we have family. The processed food, the guns, the hate, the fear all seem to drive the Nation. Some still say the greatest nation on earth and blessed by God. More indications of the arrogance and self deception.
You are absolutely correct in everything you talked about in this video. I have been living in the USA for over 40 years and still don't know what is the American dream except propaganda. Having said that, this is a capitalist society and it is different from any other country.

You nailed the US. It's all about me. Others are not real, they're just out there for our own entertainment, when we're bored. What you see is not because US politics sucks. Politics are made by people and political figures do not come into existence out of thin air; they come from our neighborhoods and schools and communities. In the US we have the politics we deserve. In France, it seems like owning a car would be a pain because all the roads are windy and narrow. There is a refreshing lack of tangled ribbon superhighways and cloverleaf exchanges. It doesn't make a difference. Only a mean spirited paranoid freak would react that way to young woman and a toddler standing in your yard admiring some flowers, wind chimes or other garden feature. That´s strange. Seattle was traditionally a politically left-wing zone with very strong workers movements which required trust and unity, not individualism. I guess since the 1980s the individualism and private property mantra has really swamped the entire country. But, I have myself seen the reults too, the broken down cities that were once thriving, the homelessness, the desperation of people living paycheck-to-paycheck. It´s getting pretty hopeless.
You are so right about movies with a lot of violence. This comes from the producers of Am. movies. Most of them think only in simple terms. Most are prob educational drop outs. Yes Am movies are only for 12 year olds.
You say "Am movies are only for 12 year olds" -- you think it's okay for 12 year olds to watch graphic violence and guns/weapons worship? No wonder there's so much aggression in everyday life in USA.
Quizás la gente n0 confía en sus vecinos, por la ficción americana es muy propensa a contar historias de personas resentidas que se ganan tu confianza para joderte . Es como la película “ la mano que mece la cuna”.
I bet you wouldn't be able to because they portions are can be ridiculous and.... they quality of food is in general not good if you are used to proper food.
Your comment about food portions in the USA being so big, compared to Spain (and other European countries as well) is probably being approached from the wrong angle. The quality of food in US is very poor because of all the additives in it, meaning you need yo consume vast amounts to gain the required nutrients. Here in Europe, most of those additives are banned, because they've been proven unsafe, meaning the finished product you buy contains much more natural goodness. Even though portions here are smaller, our food is much richer for natural nutrients.
I was about to write the same. And it shows how smart Emma is to immediately detect it as propaganda and spam. (not to say: brainwashing) No matter which country ... but leave your own bubble for a while to get a different - and more critical - view. The US fear of neighbours is mind boggling. A new neighbour moved to my town. The first time I saw him was in my garage when I just was coming home from work. With other neighbours they all cleaned my garage after a minor high water issue. How nice! Then we had a couple of beers. The next time - when he needs a helping hand - I´m surely glad to help him. I moved a couple of times, big cities, country side ... it always was like this. For sure sometimes oneself has to do the first step.

Interesting take on the individualistic things. You are right, of course, yet somehow that tendency exists right alongside a compulsion to conform, especially when it comes to buying what "everyone" has this year. As for political situation, just be glad you were here a year ago, and not during campaign season. It's unbearable.
So I don't mention the 'gun thing' any more ☺
Also I cannot imagine why Spanish/Hispanic descent would be met with racism. A Spanish person in UK would be treated as an absolute equal, only difference being that English was not their first language. But you are USA born. The mind boggles

Sure, long time Americans are never racist.
