It doesn't make a difference. Only a mean spirited paranoid freak would react that way to young woman and a toddler standing in your yard admiring some flowers, wind chimes or other garden feature. That´s strange. Seattle was traditionally a politically left-wing zone with very strong workers movements which required trust and unity, not individualism. I guess since the 1980s the individualism and private property mantra has really swamped the entire country. But, I have myself seen the reults too, the broken down cities that were once thriving, the homelessness, the desperation of people living paycheck-to-paycheck. It´s getting pretty hopeless.
I was about to write the same. And it shows how smart Emma is to immediately detect it as propaganda and spam. (not to say: brainwashing) No matter which country ... but leave your own bubble for a while to get a different - and more critical - view. The US fear of neighbours is mind boggling. A new neighbour moved to my town. The first time I saw him was in my garage when I just was coming home from work. With other neighbours they all cleaned my garage after a minor high water issue. How nice! Then we had a couple of beers. The next time - when he needs a helping hand - I´m surely glad to help him. I moved a couple of times, big cities, country side ... it always was like this. For sure sometimes oneself has to do the first step.
Americans do trust each other alot, they just trust those with similar views to them. It does lead to echo chambers but the US does have the properties of a high trust society, such as the ability to create large corporations and social institutions, very little low level corruption, ease of doing business. People do distrust media and government but that usually is not a sign of a low trust society. Low trust societies pervade Africa and Latin America where there is alot of low level corruption and people are unable to organize effectively into larger institutions.
Yes, is an controversial topic but, you're saying true, I went to USA last month and I needed to take the bus to move, because the long distances hahaha
I really appreciate your intention in this video, but please do not generalise Spain as Europe, which, at least based on the video‘s title, you seem to be doing. Europe is a geographically vast and culturally diverse region in the world. Also, people here in Europe have a cliche-Iike assumption that people from the US visit one city (usually Paris) or one country and think that the whole of Europe is like that, and with that title and that video, you seem to be confirming that assumption. I from Germany and I am living in Madrid, Spain, since two years, before that I lived in Paris, and even I had culture shocks. I also assume that visiting one state in the USA will not make me understand the USA as a whole, as there are also probably a lot of cultural differences within it.
An American flag is a red flag? Let me tell you about your hometown before you were born. Forty years ago Seattle wasn't a garbage heap and crime was minimal. Now take that old ladies perspective of Seattle now. The reality of present day Seattle is a statement about their politics....isn't it lovely? And the flag they wave isn't red white and blue.
Ale, me he quedado a gusto, lo siento. :D Sevilla es preciosa, disfrútala.
Just came back from Spain. I loved it there, but I prefer living in the US. Nothing wrong with individualism. Collectivism is the basis of socialism and communism. Plenty of rude people in Barcelona. Wanna talk about rudeness? They were spraying people with water guns there just because they are visiting the City. Never seen this in the US.
I think the Spaniards' reaction to the tourists is wrong, but I understand their reasons. You do know that there hasn't been a socialist or communist country in Europe since the 90s, right?
@@arnodobler1096 I was born and raised in Eastern Europe during communism. After living in the US for 30 years, going back to Europe every country seems socialist and even borderline communist to me (especially western Europe).

@@arnodobler1096 you are sort of veering off topic here. I completely agree with the comment on the media. All mainstream media is propaganda, indoctrination and straight up false narrative, no question about that. That's why I don't even have a TV. As far as American exceptionalism, yeah that's part of it. Remember, I'm technically not really an American as I was born and raised in Europe. The point I was trying to make is that I like the American lifestyle better, although it is far from perfect. The points that this youtuber makes in her video are in my opinion false, or at best, a far exaggeration.
Yes please don't go to the U.S. go to Canada or better yet go to Europe and ask for food stamps, free healthcare and cash deposited in your bank and contribute to their society. Love it.
What people work for is theirs, not yours. Having the American flag on their private property was patriotic and apparently they are proud to be an American .They kicked off their property because you are a stranger on -their-property. It has absolutely nothing to with race or you being Mexican. People that work hard in this country and obtain a comfortable lifestyle doesn't owe you anything. Understand that I am not a patriotic American, but many of your views are like of a teenager.
@@blindfoldsanddaggers5350 I wasn’t actually on their property, we were on the public sidewalk. People all around the world work hard for what they have, not only in the USA. No need to be rude and greedy.

Were you actually on her property or admiring her property from the public sidewalk or street it makes a difference.
@@afaria6173 we were admiring from the public sidewalk
It doesn't make a difference. Only a mean spirited paranoid freak would react that way to young woman and a toddler standing in your yard admiring some flowers, wind chimes or other garden feature. That's the point! People don't react like that in Spain and many other countries. My reaction would have been, "Hello, I see you that you are admiring my garden. What a cute little boy!" Or something to that effect. Have a conversation. Why didn't the mean creepy neighbor just put her stuff in the backyard where it wouldn't attract attention?
You are so right about movies with a lot of violence. This comes from the producers of Am. movies. Most of them think only in simple terms. Most are prob educational drop outs. Yes Am movies are only for 12 year olds.
Emma, you are one of the most beautiful and smart young ladies in the whole world. If some evil racist people are mean to you, it is their evil nature, we can just ignore them.

Very good. Take on your video even though you didn't mean to go off, I will tell you that things have gone out of control for way too long is that there's no one fit solution to anything at this point thr gun violence has gotten outta hand. While you were in Seville, I will tell you that I was in San Sebastian last month for 2 days and I enjoyed my time over there. The people were great even though I didn't get to spend more time in Spain and I wish I did but man it made me want to explore more into the country more, The way I see it the United States is not going to get any better. Definitely the propaganda is strong and what you said about the mistrust of people.... American society have gotten.... So rotten, Even though I lived in the United States for so long, I don't consider it my home
@@leonlagrey where are you from Leon? I also don’t feel like the US is 100% my home, even though I was born and raised there. Too many issues, people are very distant and cold. Come to Spain more often to soak up the warmth of people ☀️

I cannot believe the issue with the propaganda messages. In germany this would not be possible.
@@AnnetteLudke-je5ll in Spain this would never happen either! Just another benefit of the EU - data protection…
I was about to write the same.
And it shows how smart Emma is to immediately detect it as propaganda and spam. (not to say: brainwashing)
No matter which country ... but leave your own bubble for a while to get a different - and more critical - view.
Latin America?. I didn't know that the Roman Empire had extended there.
They build it up. It´s a Truwoman show. So. Many flags Martinez.
Yes, is an controversial topic but, you're saying true, I went to USA last month and I needed to take the bus to move, because the long distances hahaha
Yes! Literally you have to take the car everywhere because of the distances 🥲 thanks for the comment!

¿Gringa? Eso qué é lo que é.
If u dont like the US LEAVE!!! No country is perfect..
Gringos are weird (that lady who was rude to you)
An American flag is a red flag?
@@CaliSteve169 You can see what American Exceptionalism, US media, school, McCarthyism, etc. can do to you, frightening I think.
No one from any other (western / OECD) country would see it the way you do!
You should know what communism and socialism are.
Germany and many other countries have social democracy and a social market economy. The GDR was socialist, at least on paper.

@@emlanguages Yes, I agree . 🙋
