The reason peggy (The other schyler sister) wasnt there in the first song was because she died during the intermission time, but she also played the actor known as maria renolds (the lady in the red dress) and doesnt mame a lot of appearances later on.

Ngl, I'm actually less mad at Hamilton now than I was when I first heard the song years ago. I never understood until this last year the degree burn out genuinely destroys you're ability to make logical choices while still seeming logical to yourself internally. Not excusing Alexander in the slightest, I just more realistic believe he could get to this point without realizing what'd he'd done. It actually happens again with Hurricane. The pamphlet he's about to release is a terrible idea, but that song pulls you just deep enough into his way of thinking you almost believe it's gonna work out the way he thinks it will.

Fun history fact that's not in the show: Aaron Burr eventually represented Mariah Reynolds in her divorce. It wasn't exactly easy for a woman to sue for divorce at the time, but her husband was such an absolute jerk (and Burr was a great lawyer) that it was granted.

I think it’s nice to recognize them, the founding fathers, for the good things they did, because there was so much bad in the world (Even though some of them they were apart of it). To give you some context.
Maria was being abused by her husband, James Raynolds and he might also threatened her with her daughter's life. We are not sure whether she knew that her husband would blackmail Alexander. I will explain more about what happened to her on another video so I won't spoil you what happened.
As for his relationship with Angelica, what we know for sure is that they wrote letters to each other and that they were friends. Don't forget that in Non Stop when Angelica said that she's leaving to London to get married she told to Alexander _"Don't forget to write"_ so it's safe to assume that they were close. If something more happened between them is unknown. It is important to note that *in real life* when Angelica and Alexander met she was already married

The Macbeth reference at the start of take a break is cool because there is superstition that if you say the name of the play, it is unlucky. The song is at the start of his downfall. Ah yes “Penelope” my favourite Schuyler Sister. But in all seriousness if I’m not mistaken, Peggy (the third sister shown) had died fairly young from an illness at that point and she wasn’t very historically significant so they just decided not to really mention it. The Schuylers also had a 2-3 brothers and 2 other sisters.
Also Mariah has the sane actress as Peggy which is very funny to think about for some reason.

The first part of the musical is meant to paint Alexander in a good, positive light, while the second part is meant to show "Hey, he's human, and he is very much imperfect." Whilst this isn't exactly a revolutionary idea, it's very obvious that this is at play- especially later on in the second act.

It's a line (and music) borrowed from "The Last Five Years" musical. Did you catch that Mariah was the same actress that played Peggy? Hamilton did not deserve Eliza, period. By the end of this, you'll see what a wonderful person she was and how much she loved Alexander. If you think back to Satisfied you'll remember one of the reasons Angelica backed off and introduced Alexander to Eliza is because she knew that her sister would have sacrificed her desire for him if Angelica had made any hint that she wanted him. All through the musical we see Eliza steadfastly loving Alexander, and asking him to make just a little place in his heart and mind for her and their children... and he does this. I can't imagine how much this will shatter her heart when she finds out.

I did a bit of research on eliza a bit ago and she was such an amazing woman. Loyal far beyond anything u could even comprehend. I personally think it might've been a bit of a polyamorous relationship. She knew about laurens and was ok with it (headcannon). But they didn't discuss Mariah beforehand. (The other thing I was going to reference here would've been a spoiler so I cut it out and replaced it with this sentence) But even after all of that. After the betrayal. She was strong and powered through and sh!t, I don't think this is a spoiler since it's real life, so: long after he died, she still only showed him love. As far as I know, she never remarried. She remained independant. And she confronted hamilton's enemies directly without visible fear.

Oh it's going to get political and geographical 🤭 And as someone else commented, this ends up being very important in the political narrative as well. As you said, there's a reason we're taking a minute in the story to think about this.
What I like about Alexander and Angelica's real historical friendship is that Alexander aknowledged her inteligence and insight in a moment where there weren't many places for women to talk about politics at all. They got each other in that sense as two very intelligent people. You can see a bit of that here, with Angelica giving him advice on how to deal with Jefferson.
Buckle up because things just get more and more intense from now on. Can't wait!

Or stay single entirely and just date casually, or whatever, but don't sneak around behind anyone's backs because the person being betrayed has feelings and that shit really hurts them. 🥺
This is why I hate that monogamy is still force fed as the only acceptible lifestyle choice in mainstream society. 🙄

Aaron Burr never really knows anything while the story of Hamilton plays out. He kind of switches from past Burr (the one who is interacting and speaking with other people) and present Burr (the one who is speaking to the audience, typically looking out into the audience, which you’ll see much more in the very next song). So the Burr who seems to know everything actually does, because he’s lived through it! Essentially he is narrating the story. Great video, love seeing your reactions and hope I could help clear things up for any future songs you react to!

So in American history there are three things most people learn/remember about Hamilton from school. His legacy, as you were (since he talks about in the show leaving a legacy). One he established the first national bank. The second, well the second is related to Mrs. Reynolds and I will let you find out exactly what we learn about their connection. But in a show talking about legacies and a man's desire for greatness, you need to mention all the parts of the legacy that he did end up leaving us with. The third thing we know about hamilton from school, well it was mentioned at the start of the play in the first song, but I won't spoil it if you don't know what it is.
