My 1st gen 6s version stripped gears, 7yrs ago, upgraded It to 8s via upgrade kit and have never blown a diff since. I am handicapped and use self righting all day long...
It works perfect on flat textured surface. If it's smooth it slides a bit and can not quite get the traction it needs. Also on uneven surfaces it can find a dip or hole and get itself stuck. Works most of the time and is great and sucking down your battery that much faster.
Good idea, but it is VERY HARD on your model's driveline (axles, gears, and esc as well as motor) and terrible on the tires (breaking the glue loose on the bead, and it can easily blow nonbelted tires when u run 3s and higher on a powerful brushless setup).. also u can use "auto self righting" if u run belted or undersized tires since it won't have enough inertia
Kevin Talbot said in one of his recent videos that he uses self right and has never blown a diff. I use it with my E-Revo. No problems. Plenty of other crap has broken though.
For everyone in the comments saying not to do this because it’s bad for the car: I’ve done it a lot on my Traxxas Hoss with no problems. I’ve only stopped recently because the driveshafts are beginning to wear down from constant use
Comments are just complaining about stuff breaking. The only thing id be mad about breaking would be the bulkhead just cause its a pain to replace. Everything else is cheap af
I’ve never owned one of these high performance rc’s. But I’ve seen hundreds of videos of these things getting absolutely thrashed and beat on and slammed from 20-30 feet from a jump and they just keep going. So how does this shred the diffs and shaft? Genuinely curious
Bad for the drive train so I’ve heard but I know for fact bad for tires ruined two sets of tires doing this stopped doing this and have been on one set for some time now

Okay I got a question dude like I just got a used x Maxx what were u doing with the controller I've noticed mine not as fast as I thought are you through the controller making it faster
Everyone saying this brakes diffs my I do this with my mt8 and its never broken a diff or gears and the thing is a shitbox if it hits a bump and tumbles on flat grass it'll brake a turnbuckle a caster block and probably rip a pin threw the a arm😂

I've got the max and when I put the Rivo tires on there and it does it twice as good And i've never stripped anything on it. Thing is a beast!

I bought one and managed to shred the main gear in less than 10 minutes. Maybe skip this feature.

I got upgraded steel gears on them
I can't do it with my hoss 4×4 vxl
I just hold throttle cus of my upgraded motor

Ive got the optionals speed spur on it in the video. It helps alot without overheating anything.
