And the Tridents from a Treasury for an Ashen Lord (and perhaps a Skeleton Fort) is certainly a good one as well. I soloed my first ever completed Skeleton Fort using a ton of Tridents I had on my ship.
I ran 4 world events in an hour by stealing a fleet from a galleon, using the fleets tridents on an ashen Lord,using the ashen winds skull on a fort, then stealing a flameheart from a brig that was running the event right next to the outpost I sold the other 3 events loot at :-) it was a profitable day
Another thing with the Kraken, I found in my first ever encounter that the harpoon caused the creature to shriek and withdraw whatever tentacle I speared. Basically rotating from one harpoon to the one on the other side, I rendered the creature unable to properly attack. Stunlock if you will
I can try to help clarify the shipwreck sounds. There are 3 different sounds when colliding with "terrain" or solid objects. Colliding with a shipwreck will only yield the "Collision" sound, meaning no damage has been taken, or sometimes no sound effect at all depending on how you hit it. The other two sounds are Damage, and Scraping. You have to listen closely when dealing with all of these sounds, because the Collision and Scraping sound effects do not necessarily mean you got a hole, but they can be accompanied by the Damage sound effect meaning you did get a hole. Also, if your ship is in a constant state of "Scraping" or "Being Stuck" for 10 minutes, your ship will despawn. So be careful!
Thanks for the tips, Phuzzy! I don't think this is something that can be intentionally replicated, but I was anchored at a shipwreck to fish for wreckers. When I ran out of bait, I launched myself to a nearby island, stocked up, and mermaided back to find skeleton ship music playing, but no skeleton ship appeared. I figured this was a golden opportunity, so I swapped to Battlegill bait and actually caught a few over the roughly 20 minutes before the skeleton ship music ended. So that was a fun time ^_^

I wish everybody watch your videos, that would make crews a lot more experienced. Instead of leveling up the bullcrap stuff from the companies to get PL or commendations, people need to understand that those knowledges are what really build up a true Pirate Legend. Litterally yesterday we did an Athena grinding with my gf, and after some peacefull sailling during late night, we encountered a basic skin brig running at us after a server merge while trying to complete the veil voyage. We first though it was a hopper type threat, so started gaining distance and tried to board, but realised it was kinda easy to board them and put their anchor + sword lunging them out of their boat. So we harpooned a rock to turn back and shot them, and they sunk pretty easily. Then i killed one and got finished by his mate, and i talked to the one i killed on the ferry. He was asking me "how the f*** could 2 people one mast", or something like that. I was confused and did'nt understand his question, so i answered "chain shots are made for this"( xD) while his mate joined the ferry and was swearing at me because he got upset. And later i realised he was wondering how 2 peoples can be on a sloop. They were duo brigantine because they did'nt even know you could be 1/2 players on sloop and 2/3 players on brig. xD I mean, some people don't even know things you could know by reading a little bit in the menu before starting your game. :') Hope they'll find out by themselves as i was unable to understand their question properly at this time.
Never knew any of these things and I've been playing casually (and quite poorly obviously based on my lack of knowledge of this) for 4 years haha. Thanks for putting this video together!!!
My dirty pve secret: Use a single firebomb during a Veil Haunted isle quest and it will complete itself. And using a Trident on a Spanish fort will complete it in under 2mins
It took 2 years for any creator to let slip the amount of boats on a server with the Reaper Chest spawns as fact. (This took a year to be confirmed by a dev). Also yes It's 3+ boats on a server but NOT including your boat if freshly loading in a new server. (Because the reaper chest resets every so many hours.) So if it's red when you join the server then changes to gold it would mean more boats have joined the server :D
fun fact: if your on a shipwreck, and you hear seagulls, that means you can fish for wreckers but if your lucky enough, if a storm anf a shipwreck is near by, you can get storm wreckers(the white and blac, stripped wrecker) 2:04

That Siren tip is a game changer. My first attempt to activate fotd was brought to an end because the only storm that was within the far edges of the map for sone reason had no lightning at all. We sailed in it for about 20 minutes with our swords out and didnt even hear any thunder. Not sure if it was a bug or if rainstorms are a genuine feature, but my crew and i felt very defeated.
You may have gone into the "Tall Tale Storm" around the Coral Fortress. It behaves different to the "real" storm. It doesn't fill up your ship, won't turn your wheel and (AFAIK) has no lightning.
the wheel not spinning and not taking holes does work at uncharted islands, can confirm 100%, did lots of stormfishing at them. With all islands you just have to be close, the smaller the island, the closer you need to be it seems
This is probably your best video. I’ve been playing since day 1, and I knew pretty much none of these. The compass part I don’t worry about since you have your map, and obviously the skelly ship flag is newer, but I had no idea there was a flag there
The skelly ship flag is actually pretty old. I’m also a day 1 player and while I’m not sure I think it’s very possible that the flags have been there since cursed sails
We once got a skeleton boss stuck on the fort door in a way that no sword slash nor gun shot could hit him, not even plunder bomb could damage him and at the same time the boss couldnt teleport or hit us either So i thought of a genius idea and i told my friends "set me on fire and bring me all the good you can find" I stood there burning next to the boss while fire kept spreading from one to another and after about few minutes we heard the glorious sound of the boss dying and the key being dropped, i felt a bit proud of myself from that back then
you can always work out north without compass while sailing by looking at what direction the waves come from. they always go NW to SE and the trenches between waves are always SW to NW. Handy in a storm
I have one: Rudder Breaking... Coasting with Sails Raised, if you turn the wheel one way and then quickly the other way, it will slow the ship quicker. Just like sailing IRL.
Im aware of the reaper's fortune showing more than 3 ships and the trident is so OP, it'll burn through skeleton and ashen lords so quickly. And the kraken's maw trick too. Really essential to stop it from causing constant damage to your ship.
Hi Phuzzy, i love your content mate but being and old fisherman on sea of thieves I can tell you that the best way to know if you CAN fish storm fishes aint the BELL ringing. The secure way of knowing if you have activated storm fishes is to go to your ships compass and see if its spinning. If its spinning you CAN fish storm fishes 100% but the BELL will sometimes ring and your compass wont be spinning, this means YOU CANT fish for storm fishes. TLTR: the only SURE way to fish storm fishes is to be near a storm or on a storm and have your COMPASS spin.
if i was not so dang high with em *i think i am low in gold horder or the traders* i would proably remember it :P ya know i may redownload for the fun of sea some time if its undownloaded

Found the Kraken one helpful for when they wrap around your boat, I was always confused on what to do when they do that. There was also the Ashen boss trick, I always just use the ship and cannon balls but Ig if you only used around 4 tridents it'd be much faster. Might even use this trick along with the fire trick on a fort of fortune and make them a breeze, I'll just have to rack up a couple tridents beforehand.
