I wasn't playing regularly enough when the runs were around originally, usually only once or twice per update, making me very sad that I have TECHNICALLY been around the seas a really long time but I don't have any of the cool old stuff and never played the adventures.
They also removed the ability to keep your emissary quest after you lower your grade 5 flag. You used to be able to get back to grade 5 from the emissary quest and repeat but not anymore 😒
It makes sense though since you can now bury treasure so it would be an unfair advantage against newer players who don’t know how to do it. It used to only affect PvE. I do miss it tho
Cursed sails was awesome, we had the whole server at an outpost playing music prior to going into all out war against skellys that SPAMMED cursed cannonballs. Good times.
I get why you would remove some stuff, but things like adventures and events shouldn’t be removed unless it must be time limited for it to function. Removing content is the height of stupidity in a game
I really liked the Fate of the Damned update, my absolute favourite. I really liked the graymarrow fights. And playing those are my most memorable times playing sot.
I remember doing a skele fort, but my ship was stuck. So I buried everything besides the stronghold skull(becuase I had garbage Order of souls) and I swam over to the nearest outpost, which took around 5 minutes, and sold the skull + put my map on the board
As an owner of many “rare” limited cosmetics, I wish they’d just bring them all back I think its kinda lame new players are locked out of obtaining so many cool old cosmetics
I miss pre-Veil Thieves Haven Runs. Not because I liked to do them, they got super boring. But because everyone who did them almost always turned in at Plunder and almost always had a mega keg in the crow’s nest. Some of the most fun outpost camping I’ve done. 😂
Random SOT idea: Cursed Ammunition Crates: Ammo crates can be found in certain areas with curses attached to them, usually through skeletons, who use the ammo in their attacks to add danger. Here are a few ideas: Flameheart’s Malice: -Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with red ammo, which sets opponents on fire for additional damage. -Has a maximum of 30 ammo and cannot be refilled with the ship’s ammo crate. -Found in the Devil’s Roar. Sirenshot: -Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with blue ammo, which deals knockback on the opponent. -Has a maximum of 20 ammo and cannot be refilled from the ship’s ammo box. -Found in sea shrines. Phantomshot: -Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with cyan ammo, which teleports the player to the location of the closest hit target. Powder-Pellets: -Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with orange ammo, which creates an explosion and applies tier 1 damage to ships it hits, as well as giving the weapon AOE damage with falloff. -Overall damage remains the same. -Found in active Skeleton Forts.
The rewards were nice, especially that Servant lantern, but I do not miss Adventures one bit and I hate that they locked world-changing lore like the Golden Sands arc/Flameheart's Return/Merrick's death behind them
I use the questboard since they removed the ability to take merchant specific quests. Before you could just go to your selected group and get a bunch of order of souls quests, some even on the same place which was great. Now you can only have a single Voyage selected at a time, sure you can instantly get another right after, but I liked the chance of having multiple things on a single island. The new voyage feature will always pick a new island for you to sail to.
I check the quest board nearly every time I get on a server. I like to see what stuff players will bury. I have found a few cool treasures, like Chest of Rage or Athena loot.
I miss the Arena tbh. I was a tired solo slooper that was sick of getting killed over and over, so i went to SeaDogs and learned how to fight there, i'd just sail with a galleon, do basic tasks, then learn how to bord with canon and lunge, and how to be a fast and efficient treasure finder 😂 i do miss it
Legendary messages in a bottle were removed. Being able to repair only grade 1 holes and no fire damage was removed. Sailing your ship straight 10:40 without veering off course was removed. Being able to buy a cosmetic set at the same outpost was removed. Being able to purge your supplies in the devil's shroud was removed. Open crew being the only option as well as forced to play on mixed servers also removed ( or changed). Turtles were... jk, still waiting to be added.
I remember when there were available fishing quests for limited time as part of some event back when you had to actually buy the quests not just vote for them anywhere anytime on your ship ehh i miss the old days and the arena
I still use the quest board but let me tell you my boyfriend absolutely f****** hates it when I grab some Quest board quests. Constantly telling me how much of a waste of time it is and people only put garbage on there but one day one day I will find that one map that will have the most rarest treasure that you can only find and sells for 50,000 gold and then I will tell them that look what I found! ( the chances for somebody that actually find this chest that is in the devil's Roar region is lower than 1% and then the chances of somebody putting that on the quest board is even lower than 1% so yeah I will never be able to find this chest on the quest board and I will have a more better chance of finding it myself.)
Btw there were more time limited mercenary voyages in Fort of the Damned, The Seabound Soul and Festival of Giving 2019. Very minor but thought I would mention it.
X cancel with the shovel made digging a little bit interesting. My best guest on why they would remove such an unharmful bug was because kegs can now be buried and even with a 4 crew diggin it up it doesn't has enough time to be defused... If thats the reason damn, L Rare
you forgot about the removal of the Ashen Key and Ashen Chest Stash Voyages from Bilge Rats (used it to farm tomes when there was no world event that i could reliably get the two)
The first round and a half of mercenary voyages was one of the only things I missed out on, and it was so disappointing to come back to the game and find out that they'd made this interesting dynamic with these voyages directing players around and then just ended up removing it right after. And, of course, the magic of the first few updates, particularly Hungering Deep and Cursed Sails, was incredible and rather unreplicatable, due to just how different the community was at the time to how it is now. Everyone had a lower skill level, and there was a greater variety rather than only retaining the most stubborn, closed-off or combatative players as the game does now.
It would be different with the quest board if they showed what emmisary loot was buried there. Which in turn could also split the maps if you're burying more than 1 emmisary's loot
I would love for them to bring back adventures as mini tall tales, I also wish they would bring back the ashen fleet and allow the fleets to be in other areas, it would make the areas feel more alive Especially now you can choose to dive to specific stuff I could see it working so well
For the mercenary voyages and the Reapers run I actually only did them because rare was you know removing regular voyages probably one of the last people to do it and I wasted so much time having all those voyages in my Voyage wheel either way worth it for no reason❤
thieves haven run was such a meager chore and underwhelming. They should've buffed up the table for higher grade or reuse with fresh new legendary loot like what they did with the Chest of Legends Voyages. Compared to the Veil, the Voyage of Legends (especially the ashen version) you can get up to 5 levels in 4 hours (10 during G&G) and the Veil takes much longer to achieve the same results. Though, im glad i got the outfit from the thieves haven run voyage. quite unique that im one of those who actually put their life aside to complete it.
I was around for some of the limited story adventures.. but was not always able to get on. Wish they would add them back in to some degree, i know for the major ones like golden sands and return of the damned, its a question of how- but those could be chatting points between merrick and belle. Merrick can speak on the battle for golden sands and belle could speak on return of the damned.. where in both cases you can travel somewhere (or to the sea of the damed) to witness and "re-live" them using their memory or similar.
or the adventures that aren't world-changing(shrouded deep, forsaken hunter, etc.) could be replayable in the regular game, while the adventures like shrouded islands and lost sands could be replayable in safer seas
@@infinitypeaches3329 true, it would be difficult to work out properly hence why I thought about using the sea of the damned to redo them as "memories" but safer seas is isolated to one crew so i get what you mean, it'd be useful there as well.
I wish they still had something that could be done at Sea Dogs Tavern. That island is so cool to explore but there is just no reason to go anymore. I understand they have changed things to make it more convenient and streamlined but I still think it’s been detrimental to certain parts of the map like Devil’s Roar. Edit: PvP Sweats ruin everything.
I purchased the Reapers Run of Wanderers Refuge, but never did it. It sadly sat in my voyages until it was completely removed this season. Should I have done it when sooner - yes - but in my defence I saving it for a rainy day. RIP purchasable voyages
i dont mind occasionally limited stuff, but i hate when they do it to the lore. let lore be in the game. I have been sick so i played minimally generally for a few years (bit better now so i play more, now i can even play SOT more because i can play on a ps5 which can be enjoyed in the sofa and bed for my bad days and safer seas for less stress) so to see i had missed so many story missions honestly sucks. great video tho, nice to get a summary of what's gone now c:
I hope they improve the quest board so you can get some kind of idea of how valuable the loot is. I like to hide valuable loot and try and make an adventure for other pirates; too bad that means a few CoFs will go to waste.
The run of theives haven upsets me. I never got to do it and with the new voyage system, it'd be a huge payout. Understandable as to why it was taken but it wouldve been a massive reaper hotspot too in that case
They removed shovel tech (x-canceling as you called it here) for Arena, since digging up chests faster in Galleys was an advantage. But now that Arena is gone... 🤔🤔🤔
im an beginner, yesterday i had the reapers mark flag because it looked cool, but i didnt know this until i searched it up on google after looking on my map
I was so sad when i returned to SOT in some random update and realised shovel canceling was not working anymore. Also how are they expecting a new player interested in the SOT story to know wtf is happening, from their perspective the story ends with like seabound soul where flameheart is unleashed and then it just kinda ends but you can see that a lot has changed in the sea of thieves without any explanation. correction: there are the 2 colab stories that also progress the story, i forgot but still a lot has happened that isnt explained.
They should have increased the shovel speed to at least halfway between shovel cancel and normal. The small boost would have tricked players into being thankful they don't need to cancel anymore.
I agree with u about the story!! I played the beta all weekend..Friday I couldn’t get on any servers but Saturday they had fix the issue so I was able to play..I went straight to higher seas and just done gold faction and bounty’s..I made 170k from Saturday to Sunday to buy my first ship..I was wondering is there a story to this?If so where’s the story?I was really clueless what to do so just farmed the two factions for money I really need to learn about the other stuff I keep getting megs chasing me but I can never kill them But all in all I had a blast I was sunk 6 times over the weekend but enjoyed it I’m still not good enough to get my first sink yet but I’m working on it and I’m solo so it’s a lot harder solo
I love sea of thieves but the game would be way better if they would stop removing content. Why spend time developing content just to take it away? That's purposely holding the game back from it's full potential. Only good thing is that seasonal stuff becomes purchasable with doubloons after a long enough time.
Amusingly, I have actually used the questboard thrice in the last month. Although, woe betide anyone picking up the quests I left there (Chests of Infinite Sorrow awaited you).
I really liked how Adventures pushed the story forward, but they kinda sucked in practicality. Not only did you only get a short window to do them, but they were typically rushed out using recycled content and riddled with bugs making them not super fun or interesting and sometimes requiring you to do the entire thing over again if it bugged out badly enough, and since they'd only be around for a couple weeks Rare didn't have the time nor reason to fix the bugs. Despite mostly recycling content, they also took development resources away from more interesting permanent content as Rare had to keep churning these out on a regular basis. I really wasn't a big fan and part of me is glad they seem to have stopped doing them more or less.
Cute pfp :3🏳️⚧️ But yeah i can agree that the adventures were not the best, tho they did include lots of lore, a part of me wishes they could be replayable, tho the smartest way i could think of implimenting this is to make them safer seas exclusive since most of them included some kind of change to the game world, tho this would mean they would need to re think some of them since in safer seas you cant get the five pirates to summon the shrouded ghost in that one adventure😅
ngl I actually stopped playing when they brought out Adventures. The absolute level of fomo hit me enough to go "Fuck that" and walk away from the game. Im back now but I kinda wish I'd stuck around for them,
i would like them to make the game have stable servers maybe? i cant tell how often i lootet for 2-3 hours and then the game just sent me to the menu without any pc problem or so. its so frustrating when you loose all you worked for
would be cool if Guilds could set bounties for ships that sunk them. Make the quest board more interesting and make emergent storytelling PVP. Only show bounties that are on the map when you check the board.

I actually hope the new skeleton camps replaces forts, they seem to function much better like phantom sea forts
The orb says the skeleton camps will be at tiny islands
World selling for you skeleton foods were made in the game.
I put stuff on the quest board all the time, i still think its a super cool addition despite the likelyness no one ever takes my maps
I remember doing a skele fort, but my ship was stuck. So I buried everything besides the stronghold skull(becuase I had garbage Order of souls) and I swam over to the nearest outpost, which took around 5 minutes, and sold the skull + put my map on the board
As an owner of many “rare” limited cosmetics, I wish they’d just bring them all back
I think its kinda lame new players are locked out of obtaining so many cool old cosmetics
It would be amazing if they did even if it was only some of it like Arena stuff
Fr and they could still make their lazy recolors. Why in Ramsey's name do we need THREE wild rose recolors?
I miss pre-Veil Thieves Haven Runs. Not because I liked to do them, they got super boring. But because everyone who did them almost always turned in at Plunder and almost always had a mega keg in the crow’s nest. Some of the most fun outpost camping I’ve done. 😂
Random SOT idea: Cursed Ammunition Crates:
Ammo crates can be found in certain areas with curses attached to them, usually through skeletons, who use the ammo in their attacks to add danger.
Here are a few ideas:
Flameheart’s Malice:
-Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with red ammo, which sets opponents on fire for additional damage.
-Has a maximum of 30 ammo and cannot be refilled with the ship’s ammo crate.
-Found in the Devil’s Roar.
Sirenshot:
-Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with blue ammo, which deals knockback on the opponent.
-Has a maximum of 20 ammo and cannot be refilled from the ship’s ammo box.
-Found in sea shrines.
Phantomshot:
-Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with cyan ammo, which teleports the player to the location of the closest hit target.
Powder-Pellets:
-Using this replaces all empty ammo slots with orange ammo, which creates an explosion and applies tier 1 damage to ships it hits, as well as giving the weapon AOE damage with falloff.
-Overall damage remains the same.
-Found in active Skeleton Forts.
The cursed sails event was the best! I really hope that rare will do events like that once again and also add more shores of plenty items :D
“The quest board is no longer usable”.
Me, who just posted maps on it the other day: “????????”
Who's gonna pick them up though?

I still use the board every time I play solo. Never know when you might get lucky enough to dig up athena loot.
I would love for them to bring back adventures as mini tall tales, I also wish they would bring back the ashen fleet and allow the fleets to be in other areas, it would make the areas feel more alive
Especially now you can choose to dive to specific stuff I could see it working so well
For the mercenary voyages and the Reapers run I actually only did them because rare was you know removing regular voyages probably one of the last people to do it and I wasted so much time having all those voyages in my Voyage wheel either way worth it for no reason❤
My Vanguard Sails have a hidden feature: they protect me from FOMO in Sea of Thieves 😅
thieves haven run was such a meager chore and underwhelming.
You know what also doesn't exist? The 29+ million other pirates they claimed they had.
IKR? 😂😂😂
I’ve got 7mill but 29 mill sounds nutty
I wish they still had something that could be done at Sea Dogs Tavern. That island is so cool to explore but there is just no reason to go anymore. I understand they have changed things to make it more convenient and streamlined but I still think it’s been detrimental to certain parts of the map like Devil’s Roar.
Edit: PvP Sweats ruin everything.
I use the quest board, to get a single map then do unintended stuff with cannons, but apart from that I’m done with buried treasures
I have been sick so i played minimally generally for a few years (bit better now so i play more, now i can even play SOT more because i can play on a ps5 which can be enjoyed in the sofa and bed for my bad days and safer seas for less stress)
so to see i had missed so many story missions honestly sucks.
great video tho, nice to get a summary of what's gone now c:
ngl doing those flameheart fortresses when he was outside was always so fun I was always fighting someone when those happened
I don’t think a real joke of a game actually ever existed but here I am
I was playing the ps5 beta yesterday and was mad pissed because my last vault voyage was bugged and wouldn't open
Welcome to SoT. Want bugs? We got 'em. 🤣
RIP the Chest of Sorrows rowboat trick, too. They're no longer worth the headache for me, anymore.
If you're not in any sort of danger, you can still grab the chest and hang off the ladder and it won't flood the ship.
@StalledAgate832 That's what we usually do but we also seem to find danger a lot so we just drop it in the water.
It was removed after Arena, right?
Maybe I'm the only one, but I miss Athena's run of Thieves Haven. It was a cool, more or less chill voyage.
Weren't the kegs remade that if you try to umbury them they'd explode? I doubt you'd want that as a voyage
Good video
I always end my session leaving any maps I have left on the board. So if you are on oceanic centric servers its worth checking once in a while.
I feel like a veteran because i was in these times every single update. Only updates i missed bc of boredom was season 9 and 10.
I never realised how much content season 11 removed, which is especially annoying considering it didn’t add any new content
I almost forgot that explosive rowboats existed
And this is why live service is evil.
I miss the black powder missions, easy stronghold kegs
Maybe in the future they can release some of these as paid DLCs
im an beginner, yesterday i had the reapers mark flag because it looked cool, but i didnt know this until i searched it up on google after looking on my map
that shovel cancel is so godamn missed
I played the beta all weekend..Friday I couldn’t get on any servers but Saturday they had fix the issue so I was able to play..I went straight to higher seas and just done gold faction and bounty’s..I made 170k from Saturday to Sunday to buy my first ship..I was wondering is there a story to this?If so where’s the story?I was really clueless what to do so just farmed the two factions for money
I really need to learn about the other stuff I keep getting megs chasing me but I can never kill them
But all in all I had a blast I was sunk 6 times over the weekend but enjoyed it I’m still not good enough to get my first sink yet but I’m working on it and I’m solo so it’s a lot harder solo
I wish theyd add a replay mode. Where you Take a portal to the past and play some of the old content.
Until season 11, I had a crews of rage voyage in my quest inventory, but then, they removed the quest inventory completely 😢
I still had a reapers run of shipwreck bay all the up until season 11
Im so sad that i missed Hungering Deep because of all the cosmetics and the event itself.
I love sea of thieves but the game would be way better if they would stop removing content. Why spend time developing content just to take it away? That's purposely holding the game back from it's full potential. Only good thing is that seasonal stuff becomes purchasable with doubloons after a long enough time.
ghost fleet is in the game now idk why you listed it. it came back
Forgot about Athena's Run of Thieve's Heaven
It was in the video.
@@AShinyRay Ohh hell nah, forgot my medication, sorry
Only real ones remember the festival of fishing which brought the one and only hunters call voyage
Shovel cancel... always in our hearts
Amusingly, I have actually used the questboard thrice in the last month. Although, woe betide anyone picking up the quests I left there (Chests of Infinite Sorrow awaited you).
You can dive to an ashen fleet right?
there are alot more that you gotgot i can remember a vayage where you had to hunt down sertain megaladons and needed atleast 5 people to do it
I had a gilded Athena run gone due to the season.
You can still cancel the first bucket animation
Cute pfp :3🏳️⚧️
But yeah i can agree that the adventures were not the best, tho they did include lots of lore, a part of me wishes they could be replayable, tho the smartest way i could think of implimenting this is to make them safer seas exclusive since most of them included some kind of change to the game world, tho this would mean they would need to re think some of them since in safer seas you cant get the five pirates to summon the shrouded ghost in that one adventure😅
ngl I actually stopped playing when they brought out Adventures.
Anyone know if they removed humble/generous gifts?
Tbh knowing the community there always complaints and then rare just took it all away cause someone ruined it for everyone else.
Maybe if they didn't remove all this content they made the game would feel like there's actually something to do
Only thing I'm sad to see go is flame heart
Lesss go I have repeat flag and duke set
I miss arena so much it was a lot of fun
The berserk theme gave me ptsd
I miss ashen cosmetics. come of the coolest looking items in the game
Speak for yourselves I use the quest board all the time.
This embarrassing there’s no content in there game yet they remove stuff constantly
tall tales, world events, 4 regular enemy types, 2 sea monsters, many voyages, hourglass, etc.
@@infinitypeaches3329 yea and everything you listed gives the exact same loot I’ve been staring at captains chest for 1000 hours at the end of the day every world event and voyage is the same so little thing like bonus rewards with reapers mark is nice
@@Chunk757 I mean yeah man, you’re not gonna get an entire box of wondrous secrets just for defeating a meg or fighting other players. The game hasn’t changed. It rewards you through reputation, treasure, or straight up gold. I’m personally happy that it’s kept to that core value, as it is a PIRATE game.
@@illuminAxel_Productions hey stupid never did I say I wanted insane rewards for easy tasks I want more variety so someone with 63 days played has nothing to hop on because what am I going to do I haven’t done hundreds of times they have removed voyages with this past update not overhauled them instead of RNG to tell u what to do it’s scripted want to go to a X marks the spot u can but u can only get 2 chest on a small island or 3 on a big that’s ass
I miss Golden Sands.
