There's one thing I use that I have yet to see on a skin care video: Embryolisse cream. My gentle skincare routine
    AM:
    Cleanser: LRP Lipikar cream cleanser
    Serum/treatment: Vichy probiotics/prebiotic factions (depending on where you live. Same product, different name)
    Moisturiser: Dermaveen Eczema Cream
    Sunscreen: Bondi Sands Hydra or Australian Gold tinted mineral BB Cream.
    PM
    First cleanser: ponds fragrance free cold cream
    Second cleanser: CeraVe SA cleanser or LRP Lipikar cream cleanser
    Serum/Treatment: Acure Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol serum
    Moisturiser: LRP Lipikar AP+M Baume.
    When I'm looking at what I call a "full" skincare routine I add Vitamin C (3 times a week) or peptides and Bakuchiol (2-3 times a week) to my morning routine and Tretinoin (4-5 times a week) or copper peptides (2 times a week) to my night routine.

      As a facial specialist , I'll point out that the products you used with niacinamide in them that irritated you could've been a different ingredient or combination of that caused the irritation. There are so many products out there with so many ingredients added it's often hard to tell. Try gentle ones with fewer ingredients and see if it helps. Alot of times we get irritated simply because we heavily exfoliated the skin before applying the product. I hope you find a product that works best for you though, with as many of the best ingredients your skin will tolerate. 🤗

    How many times a week should you be taking a break from retinol?

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was one article I saw (I think it was Well+Good) that recommended if your skin is sensitive from a damaged skin barrier, maybe use retinol (including switching to weaker formulation) no more than one or two times a week. But this is all based on how your particular skin reacts with a damaged barrier. It would be okay to stop until the skin is healed. Also, some damage can occur because people are using too much of active products like retinol.

    You mention the Elf cleanser has all these great ingredients in it but does it really matter, You just rinse off?

    • @kristab8728
      @kristab8728 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I were to use a cleanser with perfume in it, it would burn/sting my sensitive skin. So I think it does matter. Good is better than bad. And if it's not expensive, then why not! I haven't tried Elf, but Cera ve has a gentle cleanser and is perhaps more easily accessible. At least where I live.

      Most derms are going to recommend brands that are backed by clinical trials, research and development and that tends to be larger brands. They do recommend some cruelty free brands, in this case, e.l.f., the inkey list, the ordinary and paula's choice are cruelty free. She's also recommended cruelty free brands like versed, tula, biossance and australian gold. There are also so a number of cruelty free channels.

    The one thing that disappoints me about La Roche Posay is that they aren’t cruelty free, they still test on animals. To me that is just a companies excuse to not PAY people to test their products out, & I know there must be many people who would do that gladly.

    This entire routine cleared my whole face! I struggled with comedones and congested textured skin so this is holy grail, HOWEVER, I am noticing a LOT of pilling of my makeup when applied after the niacinamide > Vichy mineral 89 > la roche posay double repair SPF. I love the feel of my skin with no makeup with these products. But with makeup my skin almost peels everything rubs into tiny balls of skin/product. I do wait a while before applying, but is it to much product on my face ? Or perhaps the mixing of silicone vs. water based product? What is a good alternative? I really wouldn’t want to change this routine, but what do you think may be causing this???

      Maybe on days you do wear makeup, try limiting the number of skincare steps. For example, only use a light weight moisturiser and sunscreen, or a 2 in 1 moisturiser and sunscreen before makeup application.

      Also I want to add that I’m 59 & for over 20 years I’ve been using Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy. They worked with doctors to formulate this. It’s gentle yet removes waterproof mascara and makeup. No need for several cleansers to wash with. I sometimes also use this with my Clarisonic brush & it’s changed the skin in my face wonderfully. A real game changer for me. If you have Issues with products pilling during the day, I recommend you use lighter face lotions under your makeup & use the heavier creams & actives for nighttime.
