SZCO might be the premo budget blade company. So many good options under $20. Their Mountain Lion looks pretty good and they have a Kabar replica for about $15.

Always like seeing more SZCO stuff and this one proved itself. Makes me think of their Silver Bowie I just picked up recently for about $16. Been thinking about their axes too, but looks like the reviews on those are very mixed.

I love your enthusiasm for all well constructed knives regardless of price! It's been cool seeing good knives at all different price points start to come out of China the last few years, feels like that's one of their production sectors that's really matured. Great news for all knife collectors and people on a budget that need an EDC.

That Szco Bowie you mentioned is one of my favorites too. I beat on mine in a vid and it came out flawless.

As a person who would own 4 knives if not for budget blades. Some are good and some are bad is it because they are budget? Nope. I have seen $500 custom knives fail cause of a flaw or bad heat treatment. Little Squatch thanks you for the bigfoot comment, different breed from Sasquatch and they DON'T get along.....Great review and yes budget blades can work and they do.

Nice. I own a couple of bayonets. Including a really cool WWI Sheffield lee Enfield bayonet. Strong as. Thanks for sharing Dave

I don't have the bayonet, but i do have the Lee Enfield rifle. :D Made in 1918, my father in law gave it to me.

That Sheffield L-E bayo did some great things, including serve as a saber for the 4th Australian Light Horse at Beersheba in the afternoon of October 31st 1917, when they charged under the Turkish guns... It is one I really should add to my collection...

@@Bullitt3401 Lucky for you Brother. out of all the many rifles I own I never owned a Lee Enfield. A friend of mine back in 94 offered me a Mark 1 number 4 (or vice versa - the flash ones with the peep site they made in about 1942 onwards) that was ex Canadian Air Force and never fired. Mint. Regret not buying it.

Your channel made me look closer at SZCO and none of their stuff has disappointed yet. Due to the price and country of origin, this stuff gets written off way too quickly. Experience has taught me a fair number of people in the knife community, gun community, and survivalists don't want stuff that works - they want stuff from an expensive brand so they can show it off.

    • @DonnieBAllDay
      @DonnieBAllDay  ปีที่แล้ว

Especially their full tang stuff. It just works for less

You again proved many people wrong who say things like:
    "these knives are just garbage"
"knives like this are just crap"
"stainless steel is just shity steel"
"steel like this just will break with any use"
(and the best one off all) =
"A knife like this will just fall apart on you" 😂😅😆
I'm not particularly in love with this knife, but I just really like the video xd

That Szco looks to be a minaturised knock-off of the Mauser 98k bayonet. Probably not made to fit any particular weapon, just my guess... You didnt show it, I wonder how it would take to a sharpening, might or might not be tempered to that point.. bayos are tempered on the soft side to minimize impact damage. That one certainly takes the impact, as you show! Kinda like the swords Ive handled. That said I couldnt help myself- over the years Ive butchered several German bayo and made them into a "fighting knife" style just for the heck of it, something a guy might carry in a trench or foxhole. They take an edge but are kinda soft. As usual, an interesting video, thanks for sharing your experience and posting once again. Szco makes some fun and useful stuff as you amply demonstrate on this channel! 🦌

  • @andrashavas

Looks like a knife is typically two types: Usable and for decoration. Use it with respect, and you will love it. Use it for decoration and you will love it. Made in the USA or China. Who cares if you respect the knife? If you want abuse, buy an Axe from Tops for $$$, or buy a cheap axe. Same result, you will be tired. This vid also proves that some knives are way overpriced that are made in the US of A. What is the REAL price of manufacturing. I am thinking of Tops using 1095, Ontario M9 and others. If you do not use special steel, then the price comes from precision and brand name. China has all, except brand name.
