i do find it true that a friendship breakup is more painful than a romantic breakup cuz when it comes to relationships, you always have that thought in the back of your head that this could possibly end, but when you start a friendship with someone, it is highly unlikely that you think "oh i might not be friends with this person forever". when you have a friendship, you dont expect it to end
This is so true. Our society in general undervalues friendship compared to romantic love. I love that this season explored the rift between Pen and Eloise.
Penelope's awkward first exchange at the ball when she tells her potential suiters she likes their dress too, reminded me so much of Bottoms when Josie and PJ were trying to flirt and they were like, "you're skinny, so skinny, you should see a doctor, and eat something."
I have mixed feelings over Part 1 so far, but the group dynamic with the Featherington sisters and their husbands was so funny! 'Insert himself where?' the comedic delivery ATE!

I love the dynamic of Eloise, Penelope and Cressida, because they're all similar and different in their own ways: El and Pen are smart and opinionated, Pen and Cress come from tough families and are just trying to find a match and El and Cress come from respectable families and feel the pressure of expectations on them. And they could be very good friends, all 3, if Eloise knew how to listen to others and empathize with people around her instead of thinking she's the only one with a brain, Cressida stopped being mean and could think about what she wants instead of just following what her family and the ton says and Pen would stop hiding and speak on what she thinks. And since all 3 of them are already changing (El sees harmful consequences of her actions, Cress gets called out and holds back the gossip, Pen is so tired of everyone's bs she's finally speaking out against her sisters and expresses her real thoughts) I'm really excited of what's to come.
Well in the books when Colin finds out Pen is Lady Wistledown by following her to a church at night and he was more upset that she went out at night by herself because she could have been hurt than he was when he found out her secret. He also spent the rest of the night running all over town rousing support for her once the secret came out.
