Hey sweetie! I loved watching you paint today. That lilac! Exquisite! We’re off for fish ‘n’ chips with the outlaws! ❤ We have a premier with an amazing artist tomorrow and would love you to be there on the premiers if you can. Wishing you a happy day ahead ❤
Hi Marie Louise, I love fish and chips. Hope you have a good time with your outlaws lol. If I’m available for the premiere, I will watch, but I often go to the gym in the mornings. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend good friend.😘
Louise, you have such great "small ideas" when doing these videos 😉like one of making sure the "grove" on bottom of lid to not get bubbles that will break later, and ruin your lid 😉Wow, even more tips at the end of this video!!! Great job, love it !!! 🤗😊❣
Thank you 😘Jude, I think I should call my channel tips galore, because the things I share are not anything that anyone else shares that I am aware of. I only wish I had someone like me around when I was coming through, 😅 because I’ve learned some things the hard way, and had a little heartache every once in a while, when things were beautiful and then I couldn’t use them because of a mistake. Thank you for being here, maybe spread the word and help me grow a little bit, and then we can all grow together.😊
@@LouiseMcKayArt Growing together, always creates new ways and idea...don't we wish the whole "World" would do just that 😊🤗❤

Louise, these are so beautiful. I just love them. I also noticed that the varnish job that you put on them looks so flawless. What do you use to apply your varnish? A brush, a sponge, an old piece of t-shirt? Or do you spray varnish? Just wondering...
Thank you 😊 Lakota, I resin all my lids, no varnish. I use KS Resin…
Thanks, I knew it looked like perfect resin, but I didn't know if you would use that on something so small. They are so nice.
Gorgeous Louise❤. Are the jars from Hobby Lobby?
Thanks 😘Kathy, yes they are, they have a variety !
Hi Louise, I am getting there. I have the valspar and the Vallejo gloss varnish for my PM. I have mixed 3:1 of this and then 3:1 PM to paint. If I need to thin this out a bit, do I mix in water, varnish or valspar? My aussie floetrol arrives tomorrow and I am so excited. Final piece of the jigsaw for me. Then lots of practice. Its been tough trying to get all the equivalent in the UK. Erica Hughes art has been brilliant and I have bought the exact products here in the uk that she uses. Fingers crossed. Appreciate your help. Thank you. Liz
Thank you Elizabeth, Erica Hughes is outstanding, so if you can get what she has, you’ll be in great hands. To thin down your pouring medium, you can add any of the 3, often I just give a spritz of water, and that takes care of it, but if you really need to thin it down, you probably need to add more of the varnish or Valspar. Sometimes I will even add a high flow paint in the similar color to thin it down, you just have to play around and see what’s working for you. But you’re asking all the right questions??s
I am sorry to keep asking you questions but my aussie floetrol came today, I have done exactly what Erica says to do, weighed all my ingredients and excitedly started and all my colours are sinking to the bottom. Help. I look at your videos and your colours are quite thick and don’t sink. What am I doing wrong. Its driving me nuts and I want to throw it out the window. 😂
One of my alter egos, is a crusty, mean, old bastard named Grampa Jake.
He always answers his phone, "who the hell is this. You better not be wasting my time! I'm an old man and I don't have anymore time to waste!"
By the way, that's a lovely Qtip holder.
Wow Ozwald, 😜sounds like grandpa Jake gets right to the point! Sometimes we need a little bit of that down to earth honesty! And as always, I always enjoy your comments and insights, even if you sharing old bastard jokes lol. Have a great rest of your weekend!
How do you get the resin on the underside of the lid?
Hi Karen, I guess I’ve never actually have done a tutorial showing that part with this type of lid but I have with others. But all you do is pick up the lid and apply the resin to the top sides and underneath you just use your fingers. Of course it’s already taped off and covered up underneath so you’re not gonna get resin where you don’t want it. But I just push it around with my fingers. For this particular type of lead, the hardest part is getting into that little nook they hourglass shape part were you really have to push it in there. I hope that helps.
@@LouiseMcKayArt yes it sure does. Thanks
Re too much paint … are you talking about too much pillow paint or too much color? Also, is this jar from IKEA? I saw a 57 oz jar with glass lid that looked similar to this.
Either or both pillow or paint. Jars from Dollar Tree
