Pam, I can’t tell you how valuable your videos have been to me. I could never get tired of watching your paint and listening to you describe your process. You are an amazing artist as well as an incredible instructor. I have taken many online classes that I have paid for and many that have been free… I can say definitively that I have learned more from you than any other instructor. Thank you so much...I hope your art videos never end!
I know you have said that people who work only in acrylic and not cold wax can still learn a great deal from your online workshop, however I really hope someday you will do an acrylic abstract workshop and or retreat workshop....If I take your cold wax workshop I am sure I will want to rush out and buy all kinds of new materials which I really do not need! I have so many acrylics I need to stick with them for now.
Thank you for sharing your expertise and such a personal and supportive way to artists like me who are starving for good instruction and, find them invaluable!

I love the way u progressed in play! Now explore, patterns texture, drips, 48x48 , angles and lines, wet in wet, rolls of newsprint for shapes n patterns, hard and soft edges. Newsprint shapes very different & lg.don't compete with the main players ! Less is more!!!DOCUMENT YOUR PROGRESSION! Gouging wallpaper scraper! Keep going covering w grays, making contrasting sizes n diff kinds of marks! I love it & am building my repertoire! I'm in a lot of pain these days due to my spinal cyst so it reaklly helps to practice my shapes and marks in my sketchbook! I do need to order some things but don't have a credit card right now😢 when all the sales are on! The studio isn't started yet!! 063 & 064 next!

Your process is so interesting and impactful. I admit my heart jumped as you took more and more of your hard work away with the grey paint. I even admit to thinking the shapes were so small, but trying to learn to let go and trust the process.

You are like the Thanos of painters ! You destroy the painting in order to save the painting. At first I was like ... use orange Pam, use orange, and then use green Pam - go with the green, and then I was like ... purple ! ! ! YES ! ! ! purple ! ! ! Suddenly I find myself cheering for colors. I really need to get a hobby.

    • @PamelaCaughey

Yes - you should try painting ;) It is better to risk destroying something mediocre with the hope of making it better than accepting mediocrity and being content :)

I love how when you painted over the underneath layers with white, with fairly sharp edges, it appears like you are looking through odd shaped windows into another world. Really a cool look. I'm hoping I can find where you finished this since it's a really old video!

I am totally astonished at the way you paint...such guts and so brave to cover up so much, but i totally get it....i'm finding so many helpful thoughts and ideas .... and i usually dislike watching someone painting speeded up...but you do such a great job of talking whilst we watch, it is a perfect balance. thanks so much for taking all the time you take to put these together...i'm off to watch #3!

I went to my local art store to buy some cold wax to give it a go. Wow! It’s expensive! 16fl ounces was $30. I totally appreciate the benefits of using this medium, so going to give it a try !

LOVE your teaching and ability to play is wonderful to realize. Thank you for that Pam. Can I ask what material you are using for your BIG Canvases? Is there an alternative to use , and what would that be ? Considering the Starving Artists cant afford the Insane Over prices for the Bigger Canvases.. Please help, I love to paint , express myself and need to find some material I can work with ? So grateful and thank you for all your educational videos. YOUR Work is fascinating.
