Had one of these for the last four months, and it’s brilliant. Smooth, comfortable, loads of kit and space. Only slight disappointment is the range. 233 miles is the most I’ve seen on the dashboard before setting off, but hoping as the weather warms up it’ll get closer to the theoretical maximum of 280.
If I‘m not mistaken Rory at some point owned or still owns an X5. So why doesn‘t he know to pull twice to open the hood ? Says a lot about a car tester … He‘ also not able to properly close it afterwards. Never push it down, let it fall in its lock to prevent dents. smh
Had my iX3 M Sport Pro for a month now, done 1500 miles. Utterly brilliant car. Beautifully put together. Standard kit on the Pro spec is huge. Panoramic roof, drive recorder, assisted drive pro, etc. I’m seeing up to 280 miles on the range including a 200 mile motorway run to London. 3 year lease deal via work for £450 with nothing down, so the £60,000 price tag is irrelevant. Going to order a second for the wife asap.
Don't know where you have got the £450 PM with nothing down deal from, but please share. That's £16.2K over 3 years which is 26% of the total value. You are either very lucky or not telling the full story. BMW can sell every one of these cars that they make at the moment so they don't need to support them.
@@TheMoonigans Via my employer on a lease deal as stated. Salary sacrifice, nothing down, includes insurance, tyres and maintenance. BIK on fully BEV vehicles is 2%.
After first dismissing the ix3 because it wasn’t designed as an EV platform and the battery spec isn’t exactly the greatest. I was so surprised at just how well the ix3 puts it all together to create a perfect package. I love the way it’s just another x3 model with all the benefits of an EV. I truly believe bmw have stumbled upon the perfect recipe for the future of EV’s. A useable frunk and it will be near on perfect.
You would think they'd do an iX4 since that shape is more conducive for an EV. And this iX3 should be for sale in the US. With our suv obsession here, we should have this before the i4 and i7. 🤷♂️
Nah this is not a proper EV. It has quality interior and it drives nicely. Not like the Ix or the Audi/Mercedes EV with cheap plastics and huge ugly glossy screens.
With a toss up between this and a Tesla, it wasn't too hard, telsa was a pile of cheap plastic crap with the luxury of a dolls house of a 3-year old. Not even close to BMW in terms of comfort and enjoyability to drive. It's a shame BMW have to levy big price jumps when the vehicle gets into Europe. The price in China is heavily discounted, mostly competition is higher with other domestic brands like BYD
@@gdevans - it’s only theoretical lol… couldn’t afford either, personally. I e just always LOVED the Jaguar design and, even now, I still think it’s the best-looking EV out there! Could use an upgrade on range and recharging speeds, and hopefully we’ll see a true mk2 i-PACE next year, but if I was better off and buying electric now, it’d have to be that or Kia’s EV6!
Find it funny how the electric cars that use an ICE cars chassis looks better than the purpose built electric cars that try to hard to be different to the point that they look hideous. Look at the i3, the i8 flopped. Then you have the biggest flop the ix which looks a kid designed it.
BMW unfortunately completely lost the plot in the past years. The 5 most recent new presentations had (by the looks of it) 5 different designers barely aware of the brand - or they have been drinking methyl alcohol and have gone blind (probably a combination of both)... I have driven BMW for all of my cars - until now. Their prices are rediculous for what they deliver and the Brillaince ones are butt ugly. So for an EV they are out (not that they were ever in the ballpark with their i3) - for me it's going Korean (at least they have designers that can design a common look, the tiger face of the Kia Stinger and EV6 are brilliant and the Lancia/Lambo inspired looks of the not so small hatch Ioniq 5 is equally enticing)...
It's me or everybody are too generous with the score??? Also BMW these days are making a lot of models witch doesn't make sense. And then i thought the ugly grill could be as far as they can go
it just lacks the heir of elegance BMW has prized itself on. They are becoming just a badge with no real spirit in their cars. No heritage drawbacks or special feel to their car's characteristics. other brands attempt to bring a feel of history from previous cars or they innovate to the point you're left in awe. BMW is just a base platform and language being copy-pasted across their lineup of the same dull, dry, and generic BMW feels and look.
Nice car, made in China but given a typical German price tag. Cheeky as F. I know let’s make an EV in China cheaper than we could make it in Germany and then bill people like we did in Germany even though everyone knows we didn’t, we are just overcharging them.
The BMW X has never been assembled in Germany. Spartanburg, South Carolina. They put it where the main market is - it just makes the logistics simpler. The main market for EV cars is currently China. The supplier for the heaviest part of the car, the battery, is CATL in China. So, you suggest transporting tons of batteries to Germany, assemble a car there so that it's "German", and then transport 80% of these cars back to China where they are sold?.. You'll be surprised how many manufacturers are doing this. Audi e-tron from Belgium, "British" Jaguar i-Pace made in Austria by Magna, etc. Don't forget Apple phones actually made by Flextronics in China.
I always thought with the ix3 it did not look right not because it is an EV like the new C4 and the C4 EV there is little differences but still can tell and in this video they hit the nail on the head. It is because it is made in China it looks like a typical Chinese knock off car like with the knock off Evoque a few years ago.
The double pull to open the engine bay has been standard at BMW for years... There's even a label saying "2x" in the lever.
Now on Mini Coopers too
I ordered the iX3 today after a test drive. Fully loaded loaded with options as standard. Class leading drive and exceptional interior
Hello , I'm going to order mine, and I'm really will be thankful for your feedback about the car after your daily use :) Thanks in advance

Use B mode and adapt your driving style and you’ll get more. I get around 260, and more like 280 in summer :)
40/40 for the four of you! Good to see Rory.

I’m confused. Why are you lot testing this only now? It’s been on the market for 2 years or so…?!

Team test chemistry is great a
and cool to watch
This is the old iX3, no the LCI...
There is an after market frunk available for the IX3
Would buy one but it hasn’t got dual motor
so, what does ix3 rank among the tested ev models?
You would think they'd do an iX4 since that shape is more conducive for an EV.

I was looking at these, since this video's release the price has jumped to over £64k base 😢
Great team. Brilliant team review!

How sick they must feel in the back lol
Only just realised that’s Plato
I have this car I love it 8.5/10 from

BMW seem to be losing their way with plethora of models, messed up naming convention, pfft
Not to mention increasingly cheaper build quality. I've driven a few new ones and the interiors are showing signs of penny pinching.
I love bmw but the whole ev takes the fun of driving out of it for me. The feel of a big engine roaring away is just heaven
That kind of sound I can get on board with.
The new bmw ix3 m sport pro looks way better and has a bigger sat nav
Why review a model you can’t buy new anymore . Should have got the facelift model, much better looking inside and out
If the wheels are more efficient, why are they not on all of the cars?
The ix3 is the third! EV from BMW, not the second.
@Dr Weirdgloves i8?

Is Rory on Fifth Gear now? Hoping he hasn't left Autotrader.
Love evs
I was 15 yrs from the future looks the same where's Tiff
What the heck has happened to Fifth Gear?
Not bad, but in that £60-70k bracket it’d have to be the i-PACE for me!
The iX3 is available fully loaded for £63k. Putting all the same options on the i-PACE takes the price to about £77k.
