Did a 221 mile drive up the A1 to North Yorkshire in my iX3 at the weekend. Started off on 100% charge with an indicated 237 mile range. Arrived there (also using a lot of cruise control) with 74 miles range left. For the return leg, charged up to 100% at a Super charger (150kw) and got back with similar 71 miles left in the tank. Very impressed!

You gave a better and factual review on the iX3 range, than the gentleman who did the video, he made a review about his range anxiety.

I've had the M Sport Pro for 5 months. I've taken it Cornwall, Scotland, London and everywhere in between. It's an incredible family vehicle and has all the finishing touches, like adaptive beam which auto uses your full beam in dark conditions, or the heads-up display for speed and directions, 360 camera etc. The drive and comfort are the standouts. It has plenty of road presence. Interior probably the best screwed together at this price point. Really easy to manoeuvre and judge the corners. It's plenty fast especially in the 0-60 driving range and overtaking, eg going from 30 to 60 is a flash. Just buy it.

How long does it take to charge the battery in real life at a service station? Got a few golf trips to Scotland planned next year and don’t want to have 2 lots of 1 hour waits at service stations while it charges

@@michaelrees8092 copout answer: it depends. If you are under 20% charge and got to a 150kw charger, you should be 80% plus in 45 mins. Charger speed plus level of battery are main factors. All batteries 'throttle' as your battery charge increases. In cold weather you should preheat your battery also about 20 mins prior - there should be a setting in the car.

I would always use the adaptive setting on the motorway. It will always select coast unless a slowing vehicle is in front. Coasting is the best way to increase range i.e. the most economical option.

I miss one thing. What is the range left??? 180 miles minus 30 miles charging is 150 miles!!! That is not a lot , so what was left??

I'm getting 420-500km real range out of my IX3. Tested it on motorways and uphills, downhills and curvy country roads. Got 480km once before I got to a charger here in nz. Constant speed at 100-110kmh

Matt. Lesson 1....check the weather forecast! [Trying the Farming one, usually 'bang on'.] 2.... totally agree! If we are to go electric, like you the car must look like a car! Do not want something that looks like out a jelly mould or worse....Yes that 'T' brand is simply silly in every sense. And the H and K brands too! VW needs to sort it self out too in terms of design. It is so important that an e 'car' doesn't look like something from Captain Scarlet ...Google if you have to. Lesson 3. Home chargers, Otherwise eye-watering expensive. 4. Hopefully there will be a 'day' when range anxiety is a thing of the past. Infrastructure and investment in a public charging system. And not simply in London and the home counties!
All in all the BMW iX3 is one of the best Electric SUV's available. And regardless of the weather conditions, excellent edited and presented video. Perhaps a 'week in an electric Mini? New one details emerging on the internet. Looking very good. Cheers. Matt.

@@willielarsson9651I know this is an old post but you can divide 100km by the kWh number (24 in this case) to get km per kWh then just convert km into miles by diving by 8 and multiplying by 5. I think that’s right anyway 😅

After you charged it at the services, the windows are steamed up. Were you running the A/C continuously? Currently thinking of one, and never turned the A/C off in my last 3 cars which had climate control, so don't want an EV where running it might be an issue.

Very unlikely the regen of an undulating road increased your range, a hill is a 0 sum game at best 🤣
