The issue us readjusting back after pads replacement. Besides, it isn't professional to use the battery. www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/electronic_parking_brake.html
Today is the first time I've encountered the electronic brake system, it's a VW. I think my customer won't care if I apply voltage from my jump box and reverse the polarity by switching the wires around on the jump box, I know, it's very unprofessional😆
Ok, the ECM delivers whatever current the motor draws plus some safety circuits. So does my tool. In others words, I use the same circuits. The difference is sometimes if you have a code, the ECM will not work to retract the caliper. And you may not have scantool capability to retract that brand. My tool is universal. www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/electronic_parking_brake.html
I think that that computer only signals the relay switch , the relay switch opens and deliver the current to the motor , remember relays are switches that turn on by a smal current ,
I have a question. When my car was up for NY State inspecations, everything was working fine, no lights on dash, no engine check light, electronic parking break was working fine. When i took it over 2 hrs later they called and told me they couldn't move the car due to electronic parking break wasn't releasing. He said he had use a scanner to get it released. I was like wait a min. So, ever since feb 2023 had put new rotor on. Then 2 months later passager side rear was getting hot. So, replace rotors, caliper, pads. Now, driver side rear is getting hot make this loud sound. The place i took it to said he's not fixing it anymore cause it's costing him money. Ever since the issuse with elecetronic parking break, i feel like they have screw something up. This is costing me money to figure this out.
@@ADPTraining I know that it's in the rear. Ever since they said my EPB wouldn't release they had to scan it to release it. The thing is i never had any problems with until they had it. It's been a continuing problem with rear brakes getting hot and making this loud noise.
No, you need detailed operation to advance the brakes by STEPS. Otherwise after pad replacement the caliper is maladjusted. This is how it's done. www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/OBD_2_DLC_Health_Checker.html www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/electronic_parking_brake.html
This is a westoff time , any one can make this tool , need dubble side switch 12 v power suplly revers nd forved switch , best is scan tool ,so we no my car caliper stick , this tool u force to rewind , revers nd forved ! Good luck , u can do it witout ant tools is well , 3 tiny start bolt open get 8 mm spaner or jumper cable ndu can do it !!
This is not a simple relay reversing polarity. It takes more than that to adjust the calipers properly. Not everyone has a scanner that'll do this. And, even if you do if the calipers are stuck, there's a code, the ABS computer will not actuate. So, if you do auto repairs professionally, forget jumping or using relays to do a man's job. The right tools all the time. autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com
I wish there was a cleaner/more professional, stable way to connect than alligator clips. On the ADVICS EPB units we get on Mitsubishis (and other makes) at our shop, alligator clips slip off the pins. Really frustrating fumbling around trying to get them to grip the tiny pins and hope they don't touch inside the connector.
With my www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/electronic_parking_brake.html RETRACTOR TOOL, even if they touch, the unit won't get damaged. However, our RETRACTOR comes with a simple pin to alligator adapter. You can always build yourself a dual pin rig or buy a connector off Amazon for testing.
Idiot Ford why they replace the traditional manual hand brake compare to this crazy idea epb which is another investment to car owner. Manual hand brake long last and no problem even 200 yrs or more. Ford bring back the manual hand brake so that owner will not invest for this shit epb
Very good video on the electronic parking brake retractor tool!
बहुत बढ़िया जानकारी दी है आपने मुझे टेक्नोलॉजी बहुत पसंद आई धन्यवाद#suhanauto
Ok
I’ve always used a battery to retract the pistons and never had problems

Gracias por su vídeo, cuando vuelvas a españa avísanos por favor ( claro si es por tema de trabajo). Un saludo
Gracias, casi siempre caigo en Coruña, Galicia. Tengo descendencia allí y mi esposa también.
If the scan tool and pcm use lower current, is the wiring inside the motor designed for the much higher current delivered by your tool?

EPB is only in rear. Doesn't make sense.

Good job
Thank you. www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com
Do you need to take off tire or can I just use this on the battery to unlock ebrake?
Yeah, but why would you want to. This is done to perform a brake job. www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/electronic_parking_brake.html
I use a Milwaukee m12 battery with 2 wires
Won't work after pad replacement.
You’re full of ssss, your unit is just a box with switches, any 12vdc with >1 amp battery or power supply would do the job
