I walked into Microcenter and walked out with one! I got it to replace a dead raspberry Pi 4b on a machine that was already running klipper. It was soooooo damn easy!!!
Woo Hoo! I love it when a plan comes together!
I have tried the sonic pad, rasberry pi 3b and the pad 7 so far. . I love the pad 7. I have 3 out of 4 printers running klipper and the easiest one to set up was the BTT pad 7. BTT made easier when it comes to setting up klipper. Same goes for the cb1 or BTT pi. They did a great job. I had so many issue flashing klipper on my pi. So for those who are considering one, i support it. Now it is still a bit of a learning curve but a better product then the sonic pad hands down. But like chris said it still is some work. So dont expext plug and play.
Awesome, thanks for your insight!
I really appreciate that btt has the disk images with klipper available for you
I agree! Thanks
I have had one for a while and I was able to download kiauh and have full functions and options.
🙂👍
the rubber duck is one of the most important components in any BigTreeTech products :)
Yeah it is!
Had the Sonid pad, and updated it which resulted in a boot loop, didnt want to be stuck down to a company, returned it and got the pad 7, a little more handsone to set up, but once set up youre good and can basically do whatever you want to your klipper machine.
That's great, I'm glad it worked out!
still using the predecessor "raspberry pad5" with the original cm4. that was one of my best upgrades on my ender3 v2. 😎
That's great, thanks for watching!
It comes with accelerometer and can be powered directly by 24v, also you can print mount for ender like printers. One of the best upgrades.
Cool, thanks for your comment!
This looks to be one of the most robust "klipper pad" devices, I really like how it has CAN, might be time for an EBB36 or similar video!
Мой SKR 3ez + EBB42 v1.0 + BTT Pi отлично работает по CAN шине!
I'll see what I can do!
Спасибо!
I've got one in a box. Got it for my Ender 5 Pro but before it arrived I took an extra Pi4B and got Klipper running that way. So it sits in a box as a backup.
Give it a try and tell us what you think!
I'm struggling to get mine to boot with a CM4 module. Works fine with CB1. Documentation is still a BTT flaw.
I'm not sure what the differences are, but I do plan on looking into it. More videos to come.
I would like to see this used on a Prusa mk3s+. Got video of it?
More to come!
This was actually what I picked up when I got fed up with the makerbase skipr being buggy AF. The one thing I want to know is, is there any difference worth putting a CM4 in place of the CB1? Seems to be fine with the CB1 buuuut, you never know how green that grass is over the fence!
I'm getting one for Christmas.
I am planning on running two printers with cameras on it, so I picked up a 2GB wi-fi CM4 to possibly swap out the CB1.
A local person I talked with didn't think the CB1 could handle two printers AND 2 cameras. Crowsnest is a bit hungry, and my Pi Zero 2W couldn't compile it.
That's a good question, I'm not sure how the performance is on both, I will have to compare and report back. I think the CB1 is more than good enough to get started.
I've been running the SonicPad on my 2 Ender 3s, which is my first experience with Klipper. I like it, it's pretty much plug-n-play. But I want to get a little deeper into Klipper. I was wondering, how well does the Pad 7 handle multiple printers? Also, how well does it handle a webcam?
More to come!
You can buy any klipper compatible usb camera and it will work
Is there a way to run multiple printers wirelessly from the Pad 7?
You bet, more to come!
I own two for my two printers (flsun qqs pro and sovol sv05) they have been a great upgrade. However the setup was only completed by online TH-cam tutorials, only. Which I think is not really acceptable IMHO. Do the pads make a difference? Absolutely first class, they are cheaper to run, but I'm still unable to load print files to a usb flash drive and upload as I'm ready to use. A big issue for me. BTT please take note, a great product but support must be better along with decent instructions.
Thanks for your insight!
Just checked and my local Microcenter has these in stock right now... So they are in retail stores.
Great, let us know what you think!
Klipper is mainly about printing quicker but can the hardware cope
That is one of the test's I plan on running, we will see.
I have all btt boards in my printers 3 of them. I wonder if the pad 7 is capable of running multiple printers at once.
Yes it does, have 4 printers connected . Make multiple instances of klipper
👍🙂
thanks for the info, definitely going to buy now. @@aaronl3628
Hello@@aaronl3628 how did you connect 4 of them in 3 USB ports? Thanks
I don't get the thing with CAN-Bus and how BTT is implementing this. Why do i need a whole Octoboard (without drivers) for this?
Really the only time I can think of it being handy would be to swap whole tool heads. If one was a lot different than another, the tool board being attached would let you change a lot less in the configs. I still need to check out the whole process.
a netbook will do a better job at a better price and with a keybord :)
Thanks for your insight!
@ChrisRiley Chris I wach many videos of yours on how to install klipper and many more it's easy for some impossible for many if some pay 130 euro for a 7in tuch screen and needs to install and configure 85% of klipper....
@@emmanuelskolinos1361 I agree with you, I really hoped this would make it easier some how, but there is still a lot of work to do. Thank you for watching the videos.
Pad 7 have big problem with WIFI, if you have problems just swap to antenna CM4 to solve that problem.
Awesome! Thanks for the tip!
I need to investigate this further, I'm having WiFi issues on both of my pads.
@@aarondavalon8985 You don't need investigate. Antena design is shit and if you replace to something else will work like a charm.
comments for the algo
👍🙂
You cut the part where you updated the OS and Klipper.
I think you should have made sure you showed that as the very first thing once you login by ssh.
Also referring to Klipper’s documentation is much more appropriate than blaming BTT for having poor documentation on the process of flashing Klipper onto the main board of the printer.
Just some advice from someone who just setup Klipper on a bunch of BTT parts and first time Klipper user (though I do have plenty of Linux experience)
Thanks!
To me klipperscreen doesn't make sense on a device such as this which can simply run a browser and get the full interface.
Thanks!
@@ChrisRiley it's not that I don't appreciate the video, just seems to make more sense to run the full interface.
@@timmturner Yeah, no worries, I don't disagree, but some folks really like these screens. I guess they do look cool. :)
