12:22 Setting up the printer.cfg and debugging error messages
15:01 Change the name printers on the touchscreen (for Pad7)

17:57 Test print 3D benchy(55 mins) using Ender 3 printer profile
18:50 Moving the MicroSD card from the Pad7 to the CB1 and finding the new port on the CB1
20:08 Test print 3D benchy(40 mins) using FFF custom printer profile
20:44 Some upgrades on the Ender 3 Neo
    22:38 Conclusions
Today, I will show you how to set up multiple instances on Klipper with the BigTreeTech Pad7 or the CB1. The CB1 is a Raspberry Pi replacement board and is combined with the Pi4B adapter to make it work as a Raspberry Pi. Getting something like this costs around $50, and like the Raspberry Pi, you also need to get a USB-C charger and a spare MicoSD card to get started. You can also just plug the CB1 right into the new generation of BigTreeTech motherboards like the Manta series I previously tested.
The Pad7 combines the CB1, Pi4B and the heat sink with a touch screen and packs everything in a case; the package also comes with accessories like an accelerometer for input shaper calibration, a 32GB micro SD card with the system OS pre-installed, and a power supply that allows you to use it right out of the box; this Pad7 costs around $130.
If you are worried about it being difficult to configure the Pad7 or CB1, I will show you every step in this video, as well as setting up multiple instances.

After watching your videos, i decided to upgrade my Longer LK5 Pro printer. This is my first venture into Klipper and it's quite a learning curve.
I have a couple questions, all relating to Klipper, and it's implementation in a Biqu Manta M8P board, with a CB1 EEMC. I'm running TMC2209 stepper drivers, I purchased both a TFT70 and a Bigtree HDMI 70. I also took the plunge and purchased a Biqu H2 500C to be able to print flexibles and other materials. I've got the mainboard talking to the printer and thanks to your video i have the blTouch working with mesh bed leveling.
    Here are my questions,
    1. my extruder Thermistor reads either -250C or + 250 C and doesn't track the heater. ( the heater works) I've tried sever config settings to no avail. I've reached out to biqu, but no answer yet. All the documentation is for Marlin, so it doesn't help me with Klipper.
    2. I haven't been able to get either screen to work. THe TFT screen displays a menu but says can't connect to printer. The HDMI 70 turns on, but nothing displays
I'm kind of at a standstill and I would appreciate any help you could provide.
Thanks in advance, and please keep those Klipper videos coming!!!
    Dave

I came back after a chat with Tiny Machines because they recommended the Pad 7 for my 10S Pro as a update for reliability and speed enhancements. I so wadded through your video. I am amazed at the depth of your broad knowledge. Tiny Machine will provide on line setup support which would be required. this level of integration is beyond my patience. I need to design and print. So i ask you, would the Pad 7 for my one 10S Pro Printer provide the extra capability and set the machine up for Linear rails and faster Hot End. Thanks for all you guys for the cause. Dennis

Could you make a more detailed video on exactly how much did the linear rails upgrade on a Klipperized bedslinger contributed to the increase of speed and acceleration compared to running Klipper on a stock printer with POM wheels? I couldn't find a definitive conclusion anywhere on whether it is worth upgrading to linear rails at all if input shaping is already working. Especially Hiwin rails.

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  ปีที่แล้ว +4

As long as it's still a bed slinger, I can't see how linear rails would contribute much to the speed. They simply run a little smoother and won't wear down like POM wheels. In my opinion, it may not worth getting Hiwin rails on a printer like that.

Hello Aurora Tech, I have after some help and re-watching your and others help videos at last got the Pad 7 to log into my browser and now see the Klipper system on it.
Now the real fun begins, I have a Elegoo Neptune 3 Max I wish to control using the Pad 7 system through the Browser, where do I get the Files needed to do so?
I need two it seems? so the klipper runs on the printer it's self and the other file to control that by the browser or the pad 7 directly.
I have a Elegoo Neptune 3 that I also will be adding to the system as I have it working! So how and where do I get the files needed?

The HC32F460 chip is now supported by Klipper 1-2 months ago, as Kobra series are using the same chip (my latest Kobra 2 is using HC32F460 as well), so I don't think it's a problem to run Klipper on them. You can refer to the example config files here (Ctrl-F to search for Kobra):

So I have tried a few times now to install several instances and it does not work. As soon as I remove all the options in Kiauh and install them back when I try to reboot the pad it will no longer reboot in klipper screen. I even tried to not remove klipper screen and just remove and install 2 instances of klipper and moonraker. Either way I can't. And then I am forced to install the CB1 OS all over again and it is a long process. Is anyone else having these issues? I have seen some complaints online about things after the last few updates. I am running out of ideas and have had to reinstall everything close to 10 times now. How are we supposed to get more than 1 instance? I have followed this video and a few others to the letter and keep getting the same results each time. The pad won't boot up . I also ran into this on a raspberry pi as well. I can install one instance no problem but as soon as I remove everything and installing it back on the bad won't reboot again into klipper screen. And I am also not able to SSH back in .

@@AuroraTech I am confused, I was asking if the cura settings cancel out the pad's ability to handle the acceleration and jerk with the adxl and input shaper... please clarify as I have operated on the pretense that if you are using Klipper - those settings should not be checked in Cura

Thanks for your videos they help a lot. I just got a Manta M8P V2.0 board with TMC5610.
    I have a Pad 7.
I followed your video and everything went fine except it will not connect, I get mcu 'mcu' Unable to connect. When I run ls /dev/serial/by-path it shows the right port: platform-5200000.usb-usb-0:1.2:1.0-port0.
On the boar next to the USB C is a switch that according to the diagram switch between USB-OTG and UART to USB, I only get a port when it is in (I think. The white square on the diagram is to the right, closed to the edge of the board) USB-OTG.
I also see a dip switch block with 4 switch marked:
    eeprom-WP
    NEXTRST
    RPI_BOOT
    USB-OTG
Could it be that I have to set one of those?
I have tried with different USB cables, they works to communicate with Android phones and tablet, when I write code and use them as debugging device.
    Thanks for any help.

Classic LCD works with Klipper, you just need to enable the display in printer.cfg (Ender-3, Ender-3 Pro and Ender-3 Neo):
      [display]
      lcd_type: st7920
      cs_pin: PB12
      sclk_pin: PB13
      sid_pin: PB15
      encoder_pins: ^PB14, ^PB10
      click_pin: ^!PB2

The advantage IMO of the Pad 7 is that it uses stock vanilla Klipper and Mainsail, why Creality decided to butcher Klipper with its own fork is beyond me, Creality has a track record of releasing bad software, hell they cant even configuire Marlin correctly, so why they decided not to use stock Klipper that is a proven firmware that receives regular updates and would not need any programming and the costs that incurs was a bad choice IMO.
I myself have previously used a RPi 3B+ and touchscreen to run bothe Klipper and Octoprint but have now changed to Orange Pi Zero 2 + USB expansion and the same 7" touchscreen to free up the Rpi for another project, total cost £83
