    Born & raised in VT (East Montpelier) moved to Maine to go to college many years ago and never looked back! The cost of housing in VT is literally insane.

      From what I hear NH and ME aren't that much better for buying a house, but yea, expensive to live in VT...

      @@LivinginVermont FAR cheaper in Northern Maine! Anything North of Bangor is downright reasonable.

      That's interesting to hear

    can you talk about buying small piece of land. im looking to buy some land and slap a built container for to rent out. camping/ winter ski/snowboaders for the mountains. thoughts??

      Hey Andrew!
      I can do that. I've avoided doing it in the past as land isn't my primary expertise but I'm always learning about it and maybe I'd interview someone who does primarily land before making it.
      Some things are pretty straightforward. There isn't much out there for affordable land either unfortunately.
      With land these are the main considerations:
      Confirming zoning, covenants, amd that it's not in a floodzone, wastewater permitting for septic (perc test), installing a septic, drilling a well, clearing land/trees and installing a driveway, running electric or installing solar, some sort of foundation and a few other things. If you have specific questions or want to see what's available for land send me an email! Thevermontrealtor@gmail.com
      There are a lot of airbnbs out there, so you'd really have to make yours stand out and market it well. Also, some towns are making airbnb harder so that's something to be aware of also.

    Is it easy to move to Vermont from European Union countries? Is there any work and visas for immigrants?

    • @LivinginVermont
      @LivinginVermont  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, I'm not super sure but there are a lot of immigrants in Vermont, it shouldn't be too hard to get a work visa as Vermont needs workers!

    If they can buy sight unseen over market price your not getting enough for your property!

    • @LivinginVermont
      @LivinginVermont  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not necessarily true. Depends how desperate the buyers are making the sight unseen offers. If it's a loan you have to worry about it appraising, if it's a cash offer then the higher the better with no worries about under appraising

    VERY upset with you. YOU told me 2 years ago that homes started at one million and I was the one who asked for a midcentury with tall ceilings. YOU were not honest with me. I was ready to move there but YOU mislead me.

      Hey Allyson,
      I most definitely was not referring to you in this video. I have lots of people ask for similar types of homes. I am honest with all my clients about what is and is not available but it sounds like there was a misunderstanding between us, so I apologize for that. We haven't spoken in over a year or two, and when we did, inventory was actually higher then. You were not ready at the time to make a transition, and I forgot to follow up with you after that. I'm happy to show you what is available with any home type and any budget. Most of the homes I sell in Vermont are well below $1Mil and so I would not tell you what you are looking for is not available if it was. I would also not tell you something was available if it clearly wasn't. Feel free to give me a call if you want to discuss in more detail 802-349-7840
