Here's an argument for considering the poison mushroom a powerup in The Lost Levels: Only one powerup can be on the screen at any time in the game, and if there is already one, and you spawn a poison mushroom, the other one despawns (and vice versa). The game's code treats it as a powerup.
Also, in Sunshine the nozzles and Yoshi are the pwerups.
Yoshi has rights too! Don't treat the fellow dinosaur as a power up.
Honestly you could count Captures in SMO as powerups just in this video. Every capture has it’s own ability just like powerups and it’s just for this video

Exactly. If the caps in 64 and the Bulb Fruit from Galaxy 2 counted, then why couldn't the FLUDD nozzles or the Odyssey captures? The only reason I can think of is that the Odyssey captures aren't really used for that long compared to traditional power ups, but I'm pretty sure the FLUDD nozzles stay with you for the rest of the game and you switch between them, which is no different to the powerup reserve.
@@Hijiri_MIRACHION I do think they should, it isn’t a ranking so mention sunshine and odyssey won’t lengthen the video too much. I understand a ranking list for each power up doesn’t include those, but I do think it makes sense in this contest

I'm glad that the Mini Mushroom isn't included at all. In my opinion, it's a great powerup but unfortunately many people hate it.
How's it great? It makes you weaker, it makes you very slippery and hard to control, and is only really needed for fitting into tight spaces. Other than for finding Star Coins and secret exits, I always avoid this one.
@@scratchy523 You can jump higher and control Mario better mid-air. And you can climb up walls in some games.

Well, if movie Mario had to pick one of the three power ups in the original Super Mario game to be the worst, I bet he’d also pick the mushroom. Just a feeling..

I don't think so. He says he doesn't like mushrooms and there are a lot of other mushrooms that would taste worse. I don't think that spring mushroom would taste good.

For Super Mario Odyssey, I think the "Super Star" that you get with amiibos is the worst powerup, since you still get hit despite the fact that you should be invincible
At least in its first appearance, the mega mushroom could be stored for later if you grabbed it in a small space, disrupting the growing animation. It can then be taken with you to sweep any boss in the game for free
atleast power ballon is better in mario maker 2 because it last until get hit

I remember when I first started playing Super Mario All Stars for the Wii as a kid I always mistook Poison Mushrooms for the red ones and I kept dying a lot
Great picks for this list! The Spring Mushroom is so bad to control, I often find myself skipping it everytime I play Super Mario Galaxy and just relying on jumping skills and backflips chained with wall jumps! 😬😬😬
Honestly I wouldn't say the mega mushroom is a bad power up because it's not being used that much packet new Super Mario Brothers DS you could go to a mushroom house and get one anytime you want and it's pretty cool to use it and Crush pipes.

My theory is that Nico was been replaced by a doppleganger and the original is being kept in a cold, locked basement.
The FLUDD upgrades in Sunshine also count as power-ups.

i absolutely loved nsmb2 when i had it. it was my favorite game on there, and my most played. i literally had NO IDEA that the mega mushroom was even in that game until this video

In SMB3 he can turn into stone, but that isn't really used at all
A 1-Up is a powerup and is worse than a Mushroom
To be fair, the 1Up allows you to cheat death, so its more useful than the mushroom if you're thinking long-term, or in situations where you'd die.
Should have mentioned 64 DS’ additional power ups the Super Mushroom, P Balloon Mario, and Fire Yoshi. The Vanish Cap is still the worst, but mentioning these three would’ve been nice. Super Mushroom is my second fav powerup in the game behind Wing Mario, but Fire Yoshi and P Balloon are about as situational as Vanish Cap, it’s just that spitting fire and skipping an entire bowser level w the balloon is way cooler than walking thru walls.
Vanish Luigi is actually immune to the toxic gas in Hazy Maze Cave
I would much rather use the vanish cap than the P Balloon. The P Balloon is a nightmare to control, especially in 64 DS, and the only stars I can think of that need it are the secret stars in Behind the Waterfall and Under the Moat.

I’m also mad at you for picking the Super Crown as the worst one in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. It literally turned Toadette into Peachette. It’s the coolest thing we ever seen. You made two challenge videos where you beat this game and New Super Luigi U as Peachette while avoiding the coins in this game.
The super star is worse than the mushroom, the star runs out after 10 seconds
You actually can be blue toad in super Mario bros u deluxe. You have to click and hold R or ZR (can’t remember) while on yellow toads profile. It’ll switch to blue toad, and ta-da!

DS, The Gold Mushroom in Super Mario Bros 2, The Spring in Super Mario Galaxy, The Mushroom in Super Mario Galaxy 2 if not counting Glow Yoshi as a power-up, The Mushroom in Super Mario Land, The Mushroom in Super Mario Land 2, The 1-Up Mushroom in Super Mario 3D Land, The 1-Up Mushroom in Super Mario 3D World, The Mushroom in Bowser's Fury, The Heart in Super Mario Odyssey and 1-Up Mushroom in New Super Mario Bros. when including the Mushrooms

For the original Super Mario Galaxy, I agree with the spring mushroom, but a dishonorable mention to the red star. It’s a really cool idea, but it’s only useable on one level, which makes it kind of pointless

Maybe for nsmb the mega mushroom is good compared to the one in nsmb2 as in the first one you can get 1-up’s so I will say the blue mushroom as all it dose is makes you tiny yeah you can run through water and take shortcuts but you can die kind of easily
but if you do frame perfect jumps with the frog suit it is the fastest way to mvoe in smb3

I personally think that the star is the worst in the original game because it is rare to find and only lasts like 10 seconds while the mushroom adds an extra hitpoint permanently untill you get hit.
NSMBU Deluxe didn't sacrifice Blue, as you can press the shoulder buttons to turn Yellow into Blue!
The super mushroom lets you use most other power ups like the fire flower. This is useful in the games without toad houses.

Actually the worst powerup in 3d World is also the Mushroom. Because of the same reasons for Bowser's Fury and 3d Land. And also it just gives you 1 extra hp which almost every powerup in the seires does. And I'm so annoyed that if you take damage, it gives you a useless Mushroom instead of something else that does the same thing but also gives you more. That's why the Mushroom is the worst powerup in every Mario game. Well, exept maybe in Mario Kart.
The only one I disagree with is the Mega Mushroom. You can store for later and then defeat bosses. At least in DS Mario.

If you ask me the worst power-up EVER is the Ice Flower cuz it doesn't insta-kill, YOU have to get to the enemy you just truned into ice, then press some buttons next to the frozen enemy and then throw the enemy, BUT IF YOU DON'T DO IT IN TIME THE ENEMY GETS OUT OF THE ICE

Probably, with the exception of Bowser Fury, the star is worse than the mushroom
First of all, the mushroom unlocks all of the power ups, there is a few exceptions like toad houses but those exceptions are rare.
Only for this is really good but, the star have the same problem that the mega mushroom but worse because at least you can storage mega mushrooms and the mega mushroom makes it really easy to cross gaps (it's also faster)
Finally, the star let you exposed after use it while the mushroom is eternal, common and gives you invencinility frames after use it
The mini mushroom isn’t as bad as most people make it seem but I would still say it’s a little worse than the ice flower.
