Honestly? Yes. If we're talking about the literal meaning of the word underrated? Then very yes. Lots of yes. Pond and Silverchair are, hands down, the two most underrated bands....ever? Ever. I'm American, and I honestly didn't intentionally choose 2 Australian bands. It's just that you can't listen to Diorama or The Weather and tell me these 2 bands shouldn't be WAY bigger than they are. And that's just one album from their basically perfect catalog of music. dk....it just kills me that Silverchair and Pond are so very unknown here in America. But any time I show people their music....the reaction is _always_ the same. Everyone is like "this is....incredibly good. how on earth have I not heard this yet??"
Saw Pond the night before (Thurs ,15th June) at Brighton.. And yup.. It was crazy hot.. One of those gigs you leave saturated from. :-) Nick was an absolute gent after too. Lovely guy.
Damn.....what a show! First, I love the set list....The Weather was such a creative leap forward for them. Def my favorite album. But man....Nick is SUCH a stellar performer. Such a showman. Such a cool weirdo natural spaz. I love it. Also love when Nick went into the audience. You can tell the crowd was super into them...but were all a bunch of awkward introverts. And it's like Nick was going into the audience to shake them up and get them to move from their heads into their bodies. But it was absolutely hilarious during Sweep Me Off My Feet....when he sang that line about waiting for the perfect latin lover to walk in....while basically eye f*cking the good looking guy in front of him, who was trying to act all casual like he didn't notice Nick staring him down like that lol..... They really are an incredible live band. Most of my favorite artists/bands I tend to prefer either their studio recordings OR their live shows. I'm a huge fan of Aurora....but her actual albums don't move me that much. Her live shows though? Absolutely life changing. And I adore Deftones studio recordings....but live? Meh. But with Pond I genuinely love both. Different vibes....but perfect in each domain. They walk that line between electronic music and a live band sound perfectly.
Pond is super underrated because music like this is only appreciated by people who have the mental capacity and tolerance to be able to consume these sounds lyrics and mannerisms.
Actually Pond is underrated because the notes go into the ears of people who then interpret those notes as sounds which their brain hears and either likes or doesn't like.
It has to be weird for Jay to play such venues with pond, coming from Tame Impala playing NYC, just look at the Panorama performance... the crowd, stage, everything... compared to this. And Tame Impala ain't that much better imo, Pond deserves much more
Pano was Tame's biggest show ever apparently. Essentially like headlining Coachella (same company). So it's a very recent big development for them. I guess they had a contract or something out of the usual, because Tame were definitely on hiatus during the past year. Pond is blowing up too. Rumors are they will play Governor's Ball in 2018. Rough Trade is an awesome record store for small shows. I would be ecstatic to see them here.
sponk mcdonk okay i dont know these venues like you do but it still seems lightyears apart, look at the audience here.... most of them look like they dont wanna party with nick, when he goes into the crowd, and tame just comes obto the stage and gets a response only really big bands usually get. At least thats how I felt like watching these two bands on yt sadly I didn't get to see any of them so far
Patrik Kozjak-Lesički Yeah, but Pond still played some pretty big stages this year. He even played the main stage of Primavera (one of the biggest European majors)
I'd tell you but I suggest going to listen to "Man it feels like space again" then "The Weather" then just for good measure "Tasmania" since that came out Firday.
Parte de. Es una banda con mucha trayectoria e influencias, sus primeros discos tienen mucho de Pink, Led Zep, eso sí siempre han sido muy auténticos en cuanto a creatividad musical
Be a helluva lot better with just 1 keyboard player & Jay back on drums. The 2 keyboards are killing the vocals here (which is the most important part of this band!) I don't dig the new direction that much either. Just my 2 cents.
most underrated band ever? 30,000 megatons is a insanely good song
Honestly? Yes.

This set was mind blowing. Just felt so dreamy and a complete vibe. Pond is unbelievable.
My favorite live performance along with the best of Zep. Live emotion, screamed and unspoken
Nick was born for music.

1st song reminds me of Pink Floyd's The Wall. Awesome sound, these songs are true bliss.
Damn.....what a show!

That was Fuckin Dope AF. I Am so KEEN for Pond this week In ADELAIDE... And i reckon that's just the norm for Nick

The band of 2017. Pushing all the buttons. All 40,000

Franky Martinez ok
Actually Pond is underrated because the notes go into the ears of people who then interpret those notes as sounds which their brain hears and either likes or doesn't like.
Nick was on one 😂
Maybe. We've seen them a few times and he seems to always be this way though hah which is awesome
I'm fairly sure he is ...u can always tell
No he isn't, that's his normal personality
He's always on "one"
Los Dioces!!!

Jay started from the bottom like everyone... Also he has his solo project (GUM) that only plays in venues like these :)
Nick seems kinda methy but in a fun way
haha....love that.
C-c-c-colder than ice....
Pond rules.

WTF does a band have to do to get a few more likes here ppl??
👌👌❤
Set list please?
I'd tell you but I suggest going to listen to "Man it feels like space again" then "The Weather" then just for good measure "Tasmania" since that came out Firday.
sounds like an E to me!
Both Pond and Tame Impala have the tightest drummers. I guess they flip flop back and forth.
different person
Kevin Parker on drums for pond and Hes main singer in tame impala
@@lizzytink01 wrong. Jay Watson drummer for Pond on the albums. Parker only drummed on Beards wives denim
Pink Floyd ???...
...Seguro fue su inspiración ...
Parte de. Es una banda con mucha trayectoria e influencias, sus primeros discos tienen mucho de Pink, Led Zep, eso sí siempre han sido muy auténticos en cuanto a creatividad musical
Kevin Parker's doppelganger on drums?
Coming from early Tame Impala, I checked out Ponds music but could only get into 2 songs. Might be too far out there for me. Cheers

More instruments doesn't necessarily mean louder sound, they should've fixed the mixing of them though
