@@TStormGuy Nah even his other live versions recorded early this year have been amazing vocally! And not even hitting the notes, his tone and control has gotten insanely better compared to previous years
@@TStormGuy There was an accoustic version of On Track with just Kevin on the guitar and with no vocal processing whatsoever, and he was perfect. I think people mistake effects like chorus and reverb for pitch correction and as soon as an artist like Kevin gives a good performance people are quick to cry out pitch correction. He's just a good singer and he's said he's been getting vocal coaching in the past few years after realising it wouldn't effect the style of his voice.
Even without effects, go back and listen to live versions of Lonerism. He used to place the vowels for his high notes in his nose, which is very common and makes hitting G’s and up a lot easier, but has a very “tinny” and nasally sound. I remember listening to the Slow Rush on Valentine's when it was released, on my noise cancelling headphones just staring at the ceiling playing through the full track list. What an amazing piece of artistry. As the pandemic got worse, and I discovered each song was attributed to a certain month of the year (January 2020, February...December 2020 etc.) I began to listen to each month's song with much closer attention. On Track represents July 2020. I remember feeling hopeless, so tired of everything being shutdown, but this song brought me a little bit of hope. Like, at least I'm still On Track - despite it all. ♥ "The hardest part is over...so glad you're coming over...the world ain't waiting for you....we're just a little older, the rest comes easy..."

Tame Impala is the reason i haven't gone crazy because of this world circumstance in which it feels like we only go backwards. I don't watch the news anymore cause the less I know the better, I'm scared that nothing that has happened so far has been anything we could control. It distress me but I pretend I don't really mind. I'm tired of having apocalypse dreams, I'm on the borderline. Sometimes I get lost in yesterday remembering my past life and I lose my lucidity, then I realize it's been one more hour and maybe it will become one more year. I was wrong when I said solitude is bliss, now I feel alone and I miss everyone, Why won't they talk to me? When I drink a half full glass of wine and I listen to his songs I feel patience and I feel sun's coming up, then is when I think eventually, the moment I have been waiting for will come. I just breathe deeper and think "it might be time to let it happen". I like to think that yes, I'm changing, but then my alter ego tells me "Keep on lying to yourself, your gonna be a new person, same old mistakes" and it descourages me. Maybe my expectation won't become true, maybe it is not meant to be.
While writing my master's thesis anytime I was about to leave everything, this was my endurance song. So, it'll always have a special place for me. Thanks, Kevin.
