Boosted Boiz collab next video! So sorry about your issues, but still great content. Really like your analysis. I'm learning tons. I didn't think it was Bouton end by the sound but over the internet hard to tell. Timing sounds about right. You'll get there.
Look at the bright side. At the end you can change out a motor in 2 hours. J/K! So sad for you. Keep your head up! Thank you for the content and testing out the water for all of us dreamers.
Comment is a little old now but for used motors you should always pull the plugs when doing an initial oil prime, otherwise you're building compression on a potentially dry bearing. Sure it's not nearly the pressure compared to what's generated on combustion but it's just so much easier on the engine and only takes a few minutes to pull plugs.
Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern. I have no doubt you will find the issue and resolve it. You show good character by being transparent, never hiding the problems. 💪🏽🔥🔥
Please do not give up! Take a few weeks off and try and see if you can get a better motor. We are all rooting for you brother! Sending positivity your way from Fort Worth!
Sorry for bad luck man. They really are great motors. They say when it rains it pours. Don't give up man! You will get it running and you will be glad you stuck with it. I agree with you being something with the timing chain. Praying to the motor gods that it's something stupid and easy to fix. Can't wait for the next episode and hear it running! Sounds to me like something got in a cylinder. I dropped a small brass needle out of my Holley carb in the intake of my 65 mustang and didn’t realize it till it made this same sound 🙄 I ran my bore scope camera through a plug hole and seen the imprint of it in the carbon build up on the piston. I pulled the head and it was stuck to the bottom of the head and didn’t harm anything. Thankfully, because it was brass it just smashed it and made a hell of a knock when running haha If it’s not in the timing chain set up like you were saying I’d run a camera in the bore and check it

Hey man. You aren't supposed to prime for oil pressure with the spark plugs in. You have compression and no oil in the bearings. This can cause the bearings to spin. My buddy did it to a freshly rebuilt 2jz. I hope this suggestion helps. I hope you can get a refund for the motor.
Sorry bro! Definitely hard to watch this fail a 3rd time. Hang in there, you' ll get it figured out. Sometimes its a good idea to take a step back and take a break for a bit. You can come back into it with fresh eyes again.
Sounded like a chain issue either tensioner or cam gear is seized. Do you have an oil cooler that could have debris from previous blow up? Or anything else that could have let shards re-enter into new motor?
Been watching this series. Great 👍 Was the 'knocking noise' already there, or did it start immediately after start? Are you running the stock VTC or the 50 degree VTC? I noticed TODA racing are selling 30° instead of 50° VTCs. Good luck with it.
I've said it and imma say it again, there's something wrong with the adapter kit. The fact that you had to add a stopper to the clutch pedal really, really worries me. Im sure some load problem on the crank.
I’m sorry but after the third time you should know to do rods pistons and springs and retainers I tried saying last time use the engine built for boost I know money is tight and your trying to do this on a budget but it is what it is!!
I think you just need to go built or at the very least fresh rebuild. I have a feeling that due to the increased demand a lot of importers think they can get away with riskier and riskier engines.
At this point I think it’s time to build that block you been saving with all new parts and if it fails sell your mounts and go the LS route. Or skip a step and sell the boosted boys all your Honda stuff then swap the LS.
A suggestion for you Buy an Accura Tsx or a Honda Accord with the k24 Make sure the car runs and drives good , Take the motor out Part the car out , sell the parts make a profit and you have a new motor and some cash if you get the car for relatively cheap Or Try to let the place you bought the motor from about the defective motor and try to get a new motor or a refund for this engine if that is possible
Okokok…. Mains from below is possible…. But it doesn’t sound that low…. Holy shit, this sucks Get in touch with BBoiz builder Chain guard broken, slapping case
The recipe is so sick for the car. You’ve just had bad luck with these engines you’ve bought. Just consider the source of where you bought the engine and try somewhere else
You need to let boostedboiz or pfi speed help you with that motor this seems almost non-realistic that you've had this many problems with that type of engine
Oh crap dude. I'd kick in on a go fund me. Maybe some others would too? It's not a charity. We are paying in advance for our future entertainment. Seriously. :)
Are you buying Street junkyard motors or are you getting them from the JDM supplier people seem to have better luck with the JDM ones cause at least you know they are roughly 100,000 km motors And I believe Kyle said they are 800$ and they are guaranteed not to do what that one just did
Well I sure hope that's the problem brother. I see people on these channels beating their heads against the wall rebuilding these Honda engines every two runs. I would never put a penny into any Honda but that's just me.
Sorry for your bad luck man, but this is really reaffirming my dislike of Honda motors. At this point I think you should scrap the K, do a junkyard 5.3 swap and get the power you want NA with less hassle, or If you want to be unique and do the swap kit route. Maybe do a vr6 or something else cool and obscure
The first engine was bad luck, this seems like something is just hitting because of something that has been done with the swap. Maybe the timing chain as he says or the baffle touching the crank or something. Would not be better with another make engine

You need to hook up with the Boosted boys or PFI speed. They seem like they know these motors inside and out.
What checks do the JDM supplier do on engines when they get them ?
Surely there has to be some warranty on the engine ?
I don't think there is a warranty for the motor ,
Definitely not when it’s being turbo’d

Don't check anything take it back less stress
Man, that's rough. Thankfully the bottom end is OK. Let's hope the valves and pistons aren't getting too familiar with each other.
Come on guys up those likes help a brother out with a steady stream of unbelievable disappointment

One thing about it you should have plenty of good parts to make one good engine. But why do they keep failing 😕
