  • Bit of a different video today. A lot of you asked if we were getting a wildlife camera / trail camera for the bottom of the garden... and well, I fell down a bit of a rabbit hole. Today I’m looking at the Vikeri, Ceyomur and Kejector wildlife cameras and also taking a look at how it’s even possible to make these things for so little money. Not to mention a load of dodgy advertising and what to watch out for if you’re considering buying a gadget like this. I guess this is kinda a Vikeri vs Ceyomur test... but there’s a bit more to it than that.
This video was originally on my Gosforth Handyman channel but moved it over here on 19/09/23 as part of a channel tidy-up. At time of deletion the video had 14,516 views, 162 comments, 779 likes and a like ratio of 98.1%.

Outstanding investigation of where these parts are built. You did a good informative video, thank you. I went for the Vikery, it will be placed on a tree facing the sidewalk to expose the dog owners who do not pick upbtheir dog poo, footage will be turned into property management so a fine can be imposed on the perpetrator dog owner.

Just bought a Ceyomur as it's the cheapest on AMZ and I just want to see what's digging around in the garden. I think I have a later version as it had USB-C but the same useless fittings. The cheapo plastic strap lock came apart first time I used it but I have some 1" heavy duty locking straps with metal clasps and they worked really well. Didn't pick anything up last night but early days yet. Glad you pulled it apart so I don't have to cos that would be my next move! I'm a sports photographer shooting with Canon gear, love the reverse photo lookup on the marketing blurb and I must admit I did laugh at the mounting bracket. We'll see what the cam does long term. Time will tell. Great review. Thank you.

Thanks for exposing the false advertising in full detail, and for taking the time to dig into the hardware inside.

Originally came looking for a review of trail cam with time lapse, but I'll admit to nerding out on the PCB deep dive. AND particularly enjoyed your philosophical consternation at the end there, Andy.

Thanks Andy. One of the best reviews of anything I’ve seen. I love your style and your political concerns. Will now look to see if you’ve reviewed any better and more recent trail cams.
