    Great vidz! A little sumthing I like to do iz add a drain plug to the pan. That way, its way less uv a hassle to chanje the fluid, so ownerz will actually do it. And even if you are going to chanje the filter anyway, you can drain it first to avoid the waterfall.

    Thanks for all your videos, Gary. Primarily because of you, I can repair certain trannies even though I am not a pro. Just wanted to mention that the anchor pin for the manual shaft is actually a torx T-10, not Allen. If you look at this video at about 13:05, you can probably see that the head is torx. My ATSG manual dated 2012 shows it to be 3mm Allen, and the WIT online catalog references it as 2mm Allen. Obviously the Allen tool you're using gets the job done. Just wanted to mention it.

    • @GaryFerraro
      @GaryFerraro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, i use a torx now to remove that

    The part number for the Doorman pan that has a drain plug is# 265-833 and is available on Amazon. This was the part number for my 2 vans,2015 and 2016 Grand caravan.

    Great learning videos. Have a lot of respect for Mr. Ferrero.
    I have almost rebuilt 62te. I might have missed the procedure to measure the clearance of direct clutch. Is there a way to gauge the range of direct pack?
    Please educate on this.
    Sincerely,
    Rana.

    Gary, whenever you’re completing an overhaul do you totally disassemble the main control/valve body? How do you personally clean them? Do you vacuum test the bores, or will you just perform a “Gravity Test”?

    why not put the silicone RTV gasket on the pan itself? my transfer gear pan has a small leak and the solenoid cover as well. checked my fluid level and it wasvery very low and realized I have a leak in the bottom pan, transfer gear cover and solenoid cover because the RTV is swollen in one spot in each cover. ended up replacing the transmission filter and the bottom pan with one with a drain plug, Luckily no metal chips in the pan except normal amount on the magnet. I know some about cars but not an expert. If I may ask, for the front cover and the side cover, should I just take those off and put RTV and put them back on? I also found a minor where the transmission connects to the engine. RTV is swollen in a small spot there too. Chrysler T&C 2013 only 86k. thank you very much for sharing this video.

    Great video. Appreciate you taking time from your busy schedule to do these videos. In all my years of being a mechanic I usually left any internal transmission work up to someone else. well I have an issue with a 2010 Caravan. p0734 and p0792. If I open up the Trans where should I buy the Banner kit with pistons and what brand? I dont want any cheap low quality made in china parts. Because i dont want to do this job over again. Im sure ill need the updated low drum which is what i suspect is the problem. Or the direct clutch piston in the compounder assembley
