You shouldn't really smell fuel with a high flow cat unless your tune is too rich. For reference, I'm running catless longtubes on a 600hp supercharged v8 (e55 amg) i dont smell fuel unless im full throttle, normal druving is fine
Nice to see people still working on these I got the same exact model. any issues with yours? I got the ie catted dp as well as the cai looking forward to doing this install myself 😅
@Andres Ruiz there's a while exhaust setup on ECStunings website that is a single exit but it's like 800ish but you get the cat, downpipe, mid pipe and muffler with tips. I could be off by a bit but I think that would be worth it more than just this setup. I Also added IE stage 2 tune and it's great, all I'm missing is the big intercooler
I did this myself yesterday and it was pretty difficult getting the nuts off the cat. I broke one of the bolts on the flange for the cat it was so rusty. I just put the other 3 and let it be and I didn’t see no problems as of yet tho.
@moby dik If it starts to create a tiny leak, I would suggest removing the three and using a visegripe to remove the broken bolt. They do remove when turned, so that might be your next project, oh, and try to get a small size visegripe. But anyways, good job on the installation. Did you get a stage two tune with it?
I’m currently trying to take my own car off to do this but the bolts on the car to the turbo don’t budge at all what tools did you use I can’t fit a deep socket on it cause it hits the cat but the smaller ones aren’t deep enough. Thanks
Hey, my apologies for the late response, I hope the installation is going well, but to loosen the bolts on the stock cat you'll need some wrenches to help brake them lose. Then you should be able to use a short socket on them to take them off, when you install the new ECSTUNING cat you can then use a deep socket to tighten.
Hey bud question for you. Is that the factory maf assembly with just a cone filter fit onto the front of it and an aftermarket turbo inlet stuck onto the back of it? Think that's what I'm gonna do.. just wondering if it throws a code.. thank you
@latenightgarage7895 right on man good thinking. I'm going to do the same thing. Yeah it'd be stupid to do anything other than that haha.. and I'm going to get the same high flow cat and downpipe too I believe.. how's the car on stage 2 & what year is yours?
Nice vid my dude. I'm about to toss IE's HFC/DP on next weekend along with Stage 2. Curious how big of a difference you noticed going from stage 1 to stage 2. Also curious if you have any drone after removing that 1st resonator.
Thanks for watching, subscribe if you like it and wanna see more in the future. It's makes a big difference I noticed, the turbo build boost quicker and the response is better. It has a really nice pull in 1st going 20ish and in 2nd or 3rd gear around 35xx rpm I noticed. One thing I would definitely recommend is the IEs intercooler which I need and replace the stock intake box. There feels like it's has more to give but can't with the small stock intercooler. As for drone it's not that bad.
@@latenightgarage7895 yeah had the downpipe completely out as I replaced that aswell, but still no room to remove out the bottom and up top it hits a heatshield and the turbo flange
Yeah, it's best to have the stage 2 tune ready after, I have IEs stage 2. Basically they send a connector for the OBD2 and you have to use your laptop and the app you download, it's very easy to do. They are coming out with a mobile app soon, not sure when ig for tunes so that will be cool to see.
@Pedro castaneda should be, I don't think a air intake will effet anything but to get the most potential out of the tune your gonna want to get the IE intercooler sometime.
I have the same cat, it throws a CEL without tune, it did for me anyways. I put an O2 spacer on it , took my tune off and passed fine after drving around a bit
That boy can slide with no fear in the snow !!! That’s talent
Thanks
Shoutout to you my boy for the video and tips best out here cheers to the build🤙
Thanks for watching.
Thanks my dude for that over the engine trick I was stuck for. A minute I didn't have a long enough extension to go from under
Yeah, it definitely helps. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for taking the time to educate other people 💪🏽
Appreciate you watching

One of the best videos and well explained step by step, by the way, how long did it take you to change the parts?
Thank you, I'd say probably 4 to 5 hours since I never did this before to an Audi and it was cold in that garage.
@@latenightgarage7895 thank you I’m planning to do this upgrade on my b8.5 after temp’s gets little warm

So far I'm stage 1 full borla exaust with a cts high flow cat , and I have the cts intake gonna get an intercooler and I'll be going to stage 2
Nice what tune you gonna use?

That's how it's set up ha, didn't wanna pay $300 for a set up that does the same thing, and no it doesn't throw a code

All I need is the IE inter cooler but besides that the stage to is awesome to have. Way more responsive with power. And it's a 2014
How much horsepower does the 1.8/2.0 can make with those mod including with the downpipe and intake stage 2 tune
Go to www.performancebyie.com
And they have different results for different mods and tunes.
Car smokes like crazy must be bc it’s winter ?
Maybe from the new high flow cat, new metals being burned.
What is your intake?
What’s that tool you used to get the o2 sensor out? Never seen it before looks like a socket with a slot for the wire I guess
O2 sensor socket
I think that’s turbo flutter I’m hearing, what are all the mods you had on the car besides this exhaust? I want the flutters more than anything lol
It's a forge BOV
Hey man, how does your turbo spool when you rev in park/neutral? Everytime i rev it , it dosent make the spool until I take off .
Hold brake and gas
Do you know if you have to get a tune after you install a turbo back exhaust? Or is it best to get a tune for check engine lights that come up?
Best to do both at the same time, not only is there the check engine light but you be throwing off the ecu which could cause issues.

Have any issues getting the factory cat out? Couldn't get mine no matter what I tried
Did you separate the cat and stock down pipe? If not that's probably why and you'll have to separate them
@@latenightgarage7895 yeah had the downpipe completely out as I replaced that aswell, but still no room to remove out the bottom and up top it hits a heatshield and the turbo flange
You'll just have to keep turning and yanking on it. It'll come out eventually.
Do you have a blow off valve or a DV+?
@@johanfullard9438 it’s a Forge Blow Off Valve
Will the high flow itself bolt up or do I need the down pipe also
Best to buy the HFC and down pipe together from ECStuing
What’s done to it to get so much turbo noise?
Replace the stock box with a open filter or if your talking about the blow off valve, it's a Forge BOV
what's your setup for it to flutter?
I have a Forge BOV on the turbo bought it on ECSTuning
How did you get the stock cat out?
From the bottom
Tool sizes????
Did i not say the size?
IE crackles does not sound good
It would probably sound better with a full exhaust set up.
Did this throw a check engine light?

Ecs tuning products are junk. I had the same downpipe it cracked within 2 years of using
Where did it crack at?
@@latenightgarage7895 right on the weld before the downstream o2 sensor

It should since it's still a catalytic converter.
