DIY How to replace valve stem TPMS. Very Easy!

  • Here is a simple way to replace a broken valve stem, with or without a TPMS sensor. No need to remove the tire. This can be done in your driveway. The new TPMS sensor will not give a reading until it is programmed but you can have a shop do that if you don't have a TPMS programmer. Or just go without pressure sensor in that wheel.

    For the record, EZ-Sensors come blank. The TPMS diagnostic tools that can program those sensors and perform an OBD relearn to start with are Bartec's TechRITE Pro (WRTTRP100) and Ateq's VT47. The Ateq VT37 can program Schrader EZ-Sensors, but lacks OBD relearn capabilities.
    One thing I do know for sure. Those tools don't come cheap, including their software update licenses once the first-year period expires.

      Thanks for the comment. I figured the tools for this weren't cheap. Which is why I'll check my tire pressure the old fashioned way until the next tire shop visit.
