I bought my first car, a manual 2019 persona, luckily i got it before they remove the manual transmission, really love it till this day, never regret going manual for daily.
I love your positive vibe, love the kelisa. It’s really nostalgic. The car my mother used to pick me up from school when I was younger. Holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for making your videos Beng 😊
What a cool channel, lot of great facts spoken in this video. I have L7 Cuore and its funny to me that you get almost lost inside the car while I am touching the headliner with my head.

Happy for your new humble looking car. As long the car can bring you to point a to point b, it make us feel contended to what we have. Some ppl cant even afford to own a car as it will comes with maintaining the car.

I had heavy duty std height springs & heavy duty absorbers fitted to my daughter's car plus changed up to the same 14" rims like you did. It rides firm but not harsh, drives like a friggin' go-kart now... more fun than my Sorento!! Now I'm somewhat reluctant to hand the car over to her...
The only bugbear is the rattling steering column coz something is slightly loose in there from the vibration.
lol so similar to my 2002 1.0 litre Yaris... I use it as a daily but it can be so much fun and always makes me laugh. Getting back into the NC MX5 at weekend it feels like a race car in comparison! But the Yaris can definatly be just as much fun when you just want to potter about slowely, and mind your own business. As always take care Beng and enjoy your new car :).

Great update on the Kelisa Beng!! Brings me back to the early 2000’s when my close family members had one before. Love those new rims on your Kelisa. The pokemon ball on the gearknob caught my attention. Reminds me of playing Pokemon Go!! Haha!

It's a UK perspective but I've always been curious about these. Back in the day James May said these were great but these are so rare here I'ver never had a chance to drive one or see them that often. Love what you're doing with this one.

@@bengtures I imagine they feel like my swift sport, small, light, no power and infinity chuckable with a ton of grip.
I have no experience with swift so I can't say for sure but I think the swift built quality might be better and slightly more planted.
@@bengtures try one they’re super fun. Sport has a bit more grunt and is stiffer than the standard car but both are fun

There are TONS of modifications you can do to your Kelisa? Slow? Convert the engine to 1.3 Storia or 1.3 Turbo YRV. Didn't like the seats? Change it to Daihatsu L700 Checkered seats. You gotta love the journey of owning a Kelisa.

My mom still keep her first car CLK 2004 (cute little kelisa), I plan to make it as project car. Thinking of making it as retro as possible by converting to Gino. Any insight? Do u plan to do it too or keep it as kelisa as possible?
This car is originally the Daihatsu Cuore/Mira. You would fell in love with Daihatsu Mira Gino.
Congrats Beng ! I once owned a similar small engined car the 1st gen Kancil, 650CC I think, and the best part I loved about it was you can drive the car anywhere all day and the gas meter still shows Full !!! 😆 Because it's fuel consumption rate is so low. Enjoy your new ride Beng. You'll love it. 😄

I actually top up my tank @ RM20 once a week for my old Savvy. To be safe 😁
no frills car, all round visibilty near perfect, coz its so small its like u are literally driving ur own body lol. start jalan, no need to wait for anything, just turn the key and drive, no need wait cold start, parking super ez, squeezes almost any space depending on each parking skills, anything rosak tutup mata terus tukar brg baru, no need to think2. low to medium speed this car is superb, good pick up, engaging and driver centric, ull be surprise the chassis is so much fun to drive. even viva and axia which came after kelisa, still cant match the kelisa fun factor. i owned 2 kelisas, cant lie that im contemplating getting a 3rd one just for fun. kelisa still holds strong in 2nd hand value price

My 2006 1.0cc Manual Lisa - 14' TE37 in bronze colour, standard exhaust, RM63 ron95 dapat 520km town drive. How bout urs?
Kelisa fun to drive. I change the door with halfcut gino door it come with all 4 power window, uv glass, and a black doortrim. A valuable upgrade for my kelisa. If want more power upgrade to 1.3 k3ve na engine and the drive feeling is soo smooth if maintain drive like 1.0 engine.

@@bengtures thought of it, but nahhh.. kinda like it's lil imperfection.. plus when I resprayed the car nicely within 2 weeks someone bang my rear bumper, I replaced it n spray nice again ppl scratch in ss15. Now I leave it like that nothing happened 😂. Hence I adopted the concept of wabi Sabi
I love manual kelisa. Rent it from my brother rental car. Because it small, can easily zoom zoom. Rent it for a day for friend's wedding. As i late, i have to speed a bit and jump on bump too. In the end i figured out the steel rim bengkok a bit. Haha. What an enjoyable moment, with my wife! Haha

kelisa is best car for handling fair with the price . I own one 2002 first gen, it is not performance car. Fuel economy car, small easy parking. If you need power , adjust for bolt on turbo. Mine i just make it standard coz its my weekend car .
It's not a coin holderrrr... it was an ashtray! And beside got that thing to light up your ciggy punya. It was USP as a set when I bought mine. But I dont smoke, so i also use it to put coins. Mine's the 1.0GX Manual and it's superb.

@@bengtures oi dont say sorry. It's just time has change that no car now has an ashtray in it anymore - shows how old it is. YESSS i still have mine!! From 2004 till now. Getting it a paint job soon, been delaying it since can't drive it around =( If there could be yum cha session, there's so much to talk about as Kelisa owners haha!

Personally, I love the Kelisa and Kenari as they are spacious and practical. But yeah, my budget only can afford a Kancil hehe.

Standard they mean was all the mechanical, tyre profile, suspension and so on is original lah 😂

@@bengtures fun fact my mom used to drive a kancil & a 2009 myvi but now a proud owner of a Nissan almera haha(I can't recall the model number for the kancil heh😅) so yeah haha man perodua cars have aged well though heh. got a question for you 6:15 do you prefer a single din radio or double din though? haha mana tau you need ie: apple CarPlay or android auto ke but nice sound upgrade though actually Kenwood is a really reputable brand too #manualliferocks

@@bengtures Yeah, I know it was the colour combination right, the blue and the red? But I think it will look cool with maybe a blue resprayed exterior with maybe minor red touches inside too. Hope that's a good idea for you to consider too :)

@@bengtures Personally if you thinking of respraying to yellow, maybe rims in black will be good. You thinking of respraying to full yellow or more of a dual tone contrast design, like yellow on the lower part and a black floating roof design?
Hi I thought kelisa comes with power steering n drivers side got control of the 2 side windows... Cheers
Coz this is a base spec with smaller 850 engine. The usual spec is 1.0 engine and with power steering + 2 powered windows for front doors.
I owned one for few years. The petrol consumption is extremely less, maintenance very low and the car drives well. It's a recipe of success and I regret selling off mine.
Time to get it back!

I'm sure she still has it as a weekender/special occasion car. Something like this will actually be more fun to drive in busy traffic on a day to day basis, and cheaper to maintain with heavy use. I have the same MX5, and whilst it's fun it can be a pain in busy traffic etc.

The manual gearbox not rubbery meh?. Think the 1.3satria 2nd gen manual is better. Ive taken the kelisa 1.0A to the end of the speedo meter.
Yeah, I agree with you on the gearbox but I think it's a good introduction to ppl like me who is getting back to the manual shifting. Now when I drive other manuals I'm always amazed.

Airbag=0, that is the best car out there....No point repairing the cosmetic dents/chips la, later fix, someone slam another dent at your doors.....save your money, just go make good memories with it... Maybe better cushion for your seat. Go service your aircon (make it super cool), sparks, ...any leak- go change engine/oil gaskets, prevent from overheat , gearbox oil,....no point noise isolation also.... Car was meant for get-go, easy parking and furious nippy. A foul excuse for not taking passengers, small car. LOL. My 2 cents.

When i saw your video, remind me of my kelisa back in 2004. I bought brand new worth RM42k at that time monthly served me only RM461. After 2 years in possession i convert my car to Daihatsu Cuore TR (i mean fully including door panel, all mirrors, all 4 power windows, flip side mirror etc) with SSR original rims from japan (2 piece rims) 15in size. I installed sunroof too. Now, I'm regret sold that car for exchange a brand new car after 13 years of service
Oh! The Cuore reminds me of a mini Subaru Forester. I'm still thinking if I wanna do Cuore or Gino. Wah, siap ada sunroof pun! Perhaps you could get it back? hehe
@@bengtures i think I'm not getting the car back as new owner of my car staying at Terengganu..haha..if u like sportier look go for cuore but if u want "head turner" better go for gino. Now the price is not expensive compare from previous years. But remember, if u convert the car, if possible, don't ever think to surpass the jpj roadblock ya 🤭😂
