    Beautiful guitar Klesh! I’ve always been a Fender player. I have many strats but I’ve been playing my tele mostly lately. I will only play nitro lacquered guitars now. I refinished a few of my strats in nitro. It’s a great feel and sound. And I love how it wears when you play the heck out of it over many years! My tele is extremely road worn after years of touring and gigging. Thanks for sharing brother!

    It's almost 2024, hope you still have that Strat. Try finding one now! The 9.5" radius is why I bought one, Ii got a 60s White version. Took a bit of wire wool to the back of the neck to remove the sticky layer, now I use it for everthing. What is the weight of yours, I got a 3.5kg which is 7.7lbs...Use a wider 3" strap. Had to hunt it down, travelled across the US to get it, N.California is where I found it, the owner had 9s on it and just did'nt dig surf music so I snapped it up and made it mine. Love/hate at the begining but as with all great things you have to invest a little time in getting to know your instrument. Wanted a 50s type but this olympic white was too beautiful to pass up on. Next best to a Custom shop. BTW the lacquer is begining to show very intricate shrinking patterns that make it look like it's been around for 50 years, hot-cold-hot-cold. The only things I changed were the strings(10s) and the saddles(got those grooved thicker bent steel tone pros). Sound is the classic 60s Earthy tone.

    I really am curious. But... yeah those tweed cases -nice to look at these days but... not as functional. They need to up their game on those for this line. Guitar is beautiful though in the white as well.

    the components are of a better quality than my Vintera Strat...but its not as well made,the finish inside the spring cavity is really rough,the nut is poorly cut,its too low,some of the bridge saddles have offcentre drilled intonation screw holes,I had to swap them to stop the high E going over the edge of the fingerboard,the frets are cut a little too short of the fretboard edge,you can feel a gap at the end of the fret slot,the transfer on the headstock has been applied over the laquer...it just scratches of,cant say much about the durability of the finish as it hasnt been out of the house yet but some have reported problems with this...if you take the neck off it will crack the paint,never used to do that on the old nitro finished guitars...the pickups are great they are quite weak so I found I had to raise them up much more than I normally would.....so all in all beware...at least play before you buy!

    Gorgeous guitar. I love the 50s aesthetic, but a bit out of my price range at $2,800 CAD unfortunately. (I settled for an American Professional series model in the same colour.)

    I would guess that the lid hinges on the guitar case have been bent/distorted by bumping around by the handlers. Of course before you unpacked it. It appears to have some overhang towards that latching corner. So nice to watch you enjoy that fabulous new guitar “MAN” ! High altitude tones !

    I'm considering buying one of these too. It's a pity however that there aren't more colors available. A black one or a blue one like the American Pro II offerrs would have been nice. But I like the two color sunburst version. I recently bought a Player MN Strat and also a Vinterra Road Worn Strat. In the Player Strat I like the fretboard radius (9,5") and the playability, but I don't like the two-point synchonized tremolo which grotesquely is less tuning-stable that the vintage style six-screws tremolo. The two-point one is unusable in floating setting. I also don't like the trem-arm which has a much to steep angle and ist too high. Also I prefer the vintage-style tuners. In the Vinterra Road Worn one I like the overall better resonance of the body when played dry (probably due to the nitro lacquer) and the vintage-style six-screw tremolo which is very tuning-stable even in floating mode. Also the trem arm angle is better. The finish of the neck feels good but I prefer the frets and the flatter fretboard-radius of the Player Strat which is more playable for me. From what I can read in the specs of this American original 50s this one seems to combine both of what I prefer, so the flat 9,5" radius, the vintage tremolo, the vintage tuners and the nitro lacquer. Do you think this is correct? I btw. don't care about the pickups since I'm going to mount an EMG DG20 pickup board which I already have.

    • @carlitobrigante330
      @carlitobrigante330 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That two-tone sunburst is authentic to the period, and is the same that Buddy Holly played (to boot) ;)

    • @b-music9329
      @b-music9329 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlitobrigante330 I finally nevertheless bought another Player Strat in the same finish (two tone sunburst) since I like the Player neck so much - it's so smooth and playable. That's the most important to me. But I will exchange the pickups. The look and also the finish is fantastic.

    • @KleshGuitarsOfficial
      @KleshGuitarsOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems correct to me. I didn't measure the radius but if they say it's 9.5, it's gonna 9.5.

    • @b-music9329
      @b-music9329 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KleshGuitarsOfficial In fact 9.5" is better for playing, first of all for bending since the strings don't fret out as easily as with the vintage 7.25". I have this vintage radius on my Vintera Road Worn Strat which is true to the original vintage Strat and I like the 9.5" of my Players more. I think the necks in the Players are perfect. Good radius and smooth feel.

    Thank you for discussing the case first instead of rushing to the guitar. I wanted to see the “Made in USA” G&G label inside the case and you showed it. Strangely, neither Sweetwater or even the Fender websites are clear about which tweed case it comes with. There are 2 versions of the case, at $199 and $299.

    Ever consider doing a quick 10-15 minute vid for 100% amateurs that know nothing about playing a guitar...just the very basics...yeah, I have watched other TH-cam vids for beginner acoustic guitarists, but they never seemed to 'stick'...just a thought...thanks...JethroGritty

  • @nickf9392
    @nickf9392 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The nut slots are cut to match the relation ship to the fret height, deep enough, but no buzzing of course. Once you have the slot cut to that depth then you simply sand down the top of the nut to get the effect you showed in the sketch. No, I'm not an internet know it all, but that is just basic and correct guitar set up.

    • @KleshGuitarsOfficial
      @KleshGuitarsOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      RIght, and they should've had it right from the factory if they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, seems Gibson are more about "quantity over quality" nowadays.

    • @nickf9392
      @nickf9392 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KleshGuitarsOfficial And the prices have all gone way over the top. I started putting guitars together from factory parts. The same guitar Fender would charge $4k...I am putting together for about $1k. And I know they are made right, and with the pick ups to my taste. Both Fender and Gibson need a good trip to the wood shed.

    Mr. Klesh, I gotta say, that is one sweet guitar. Can you imagine if Charlie Christian had lived long enough to see 50's guitars? How do Fenders and Gibsons compare to others, like vintage CF Martins? Also, as a luthier, is there a wood that you've always wanted to use that is out of the ordinary? (Like box elder instead of maple, or using holly for a fret board with blackened frets for example.)

    • @KleshGuitarsOfficial
      @KleshGuitarsOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pete, so there are many different tone woods and combinations of those tone woods to create unique sounds. I've used many different woods for fretboards (Maple, Ebony, Rosewood(s), Koa, Bubinga, Purpleheart, Paduak, Wenge to name a few) but the choices there are limited due to hardness. For instance, I don't think a Mahogany fretboard would be very good due to it's relative softness in comparison with say walnut.

    Sweet guitar, though I've never understood the appeal of replica old Fenders. Seems like paying a lot of money to deliberately not get any of the design improvements of the last 70 years.

    • @nsbomb
      @nsbomb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not improvements, changes. Changes are not always improvements, improvements are always subjective. 😁 But I get your point! In that case we would have to look at G&L because that was Leo’s last “form” for the Stratocaster.

    • @carlitobrigante330
      @carlitobrigante330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Not entirely true. The fretboard radius (9.5") is deliberately modern, and I am guessing that the tolerances on the hardware and electronics (wiring, caps, pots, etc) are more exacting than those used back in the 1950's.
