Thank you so much for this video. I wanted to ask if you know of the company Joytalk as it has sent me an employee offer to start in April this year. And they noted that I will be allowed to travel to Japan as an essential worker for public schools, did you have to use that as well?

Hi Emilie! I was very lucky to be allowed to enter Japan last September when the border restrictions were less strict, though many people in my program still haven't been allowed to come. I don't know how they coordinated our entry or under what laws/regulations, but your company should keep you informed about your entry process! Good luck with everything and stay safe!

This video is so nice! And I'm slowly understanding what it might be like to be in quarantine there, so thanks a lot. I'm concern about you 5am waking hour! Is it mandatory? Or do you just usually wake up at that time?
i woke up early due to jetlag! definitely not mandatory. it also worked out since i left quarantine around 5:30am, so it wasn't as hard waking up haha

And then my most important question : we were told the hotel bus won't allow hand luggage with wheels but I saw you were taking a backpack with wheels. Did they have a problem with it?

i stayed at keio plaza hotel in shinjuku! and my backpack didn't have wheels. my bus to the hotel wasn't crowded thankfully and none of us had issues with our stuff
