I've been a few places in East and West Texas that are described in this town. I lived in a small town for several years. When you got the time to stop and enjoy the scenery its nice. At 56 years old and a Veteran and many moons of experience as a First Responder. I relish the time when my wife and I can go through an old town and enjoy what we see.
Tommy Thompson Fortunately he was pretty successful as a songwriter after his singing career stalled out...he wrote a ton of songs for George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, Doug Stone, and many others during that period.
I worked closely with him developing a couple of artist. We became pretty close during that time. I remember going to ASCAP to a #1 party for I Never Knew Love that Doug Stone sang. It was during that time that I worked with him. I think we hit it off because we both had a warped sense of humor. He would tell jokes that no one would get but me!
The song was just playing in my head recently and I'm a DJ on a online site called Paltalk in a country music room and I've been trying to play more traditional country music than some of the country of today. That's song came out I think it was 1988 I think or 1987 I know it was one of those years. In fact when I first heard it it was on a radio station called American forces Network in Germany I was about 14 or 15 years old when it came out on the other hand it was on American Country Countdown with Bob Kingsley are on the afn network he sure is trying to keep the country tradition back then just like Randy Travis and George Strait did. Everyone is right he deserves more than what he had gotten. Way to go Larry Boone.

I knew Larry in the 90's. I couldn't believe he didn't go straight to the top. He could out perform must of the "stars" of that era by a country mile!
