Korn helped me make it through my depression after my wife died of cancer 10 years ago. I was in a dark place and the emotion that Jonathan Davis has always put into their music saved me from doing something that I would’ve regretted. There are always better days, but they helped me make it through the dark times
I cannot say I have been there but pretty close there right now. Went through six weeks of Chemo and Radiation therapy, then surgery to cut out part of my esophagus and replace with my stomach...now my wife is in ICU in another country and I cannot travel to be with her...she had a kidney fail and had been touch and go the last day or two. Things are looking up but it is hitting me now-all the emotions messing with my mind. She is in her home country in the Philippines and I am here in California. And I miss my three year old daughter who is there in the Philippines. She is definetly a daddy’s girl. I do hope things worked out in life for you...thanks for opening up and sharing a part of yourself with us.
Sad how much negativity this band gets from old fans that say their music is terrible now and are angry that they don't sound like their first album..... They're are missing how extremely good and deep JDs lyrics are and how great the music sounds and is put together. Forever will and always will love korns music
As someone who's been a fan since the first album, I agree with you. The first 2 albums are my favorites but they have not made a bad album. One of the things that I fell in love with is the uniqueness of their music and how it constantly evolves. And that's what the bands that have longevity have in common; the music evolves. If I made a list of my top favorite songs there would be something from every album. Those who want to bitch are missing out. Fuck em!
They've definitely changed and I can see why people wouldnt like anything but older songs. I myself appreciate the new songs, been listening to them more than the older stuff now.
Usually there's about one or two songs at the very least on each album that I don't go back and listen to. I've gone back to every single song on this album over and over again. They've outdone themselves.
dear korn. thanks for being there for my whole teen years. i'm now almost 23. thank you for saving my life and helping me feel understood when i felt lost and alone. i almost ended it a few times and never thought i'd make it past 18, but look who's here and still going... thank you.
This song hits very close to home for me. It reminds me of my dad. Sadly, he was an alcoholic. Not long after I graduated high school, he ended up in the hospital for his drinking, and he was diagnosed with acute liver failure. After that, he quit drinking. He was sober for a year, then unfortunately, he fell off the wagon not long after. It was actually a week before my 19th birthday. He never got clean after that. He drank almost every day for a full year, until he ended up in the hospital again on Halloween of 2016. He was in the hospital for over two weeks, and he wasn't getting any better. His liver was a lot worse than what it was the first time he went into the hospital. So, he decided to go into hospice. He went into hospice, and he died two days later. It's been a little over a year since he died. Words can't even describe how much I miss him. I don't know what's so special about that damn bottle. But this song reminds me of what he must've felt in his head. That he needed alcohol in order to function. But I'll never get it. I love this song, because it's a great song, but at the same time, it makes me a little sad whenever I hear it. Lol. I guess you can say I have a love/hate relationship with it. Lol. :P
+Karina Moreira Thank you. I appreciate that. It's been hard. I listened to this song all the time last year. I don't know. It kinda helped me cope with his death, in a way. I know it sounds weird. Lol. Like I said, it makes me a little sad when I listen to it, but it's such a great song, I can't help but listen to it. :P
Definitely understand. And I can see you have a very good understanding. I am sorry to hear about your dad. Nothing is special about the bottle. Its the mental and the body affect, it just consumes you. An addiction that shouldn't be considered an addiction. More so a life consumption. It controls you. The thaught of it will never leave . Ever. Just remember....you know what happens . Stay away from it ♡
Father died of cancer when I was 11 I completely understand. However I cannot say i do having to watch my father poison himself to death must have been awful. That was 7 years ago and I still remember asking any god there was to take me instead.
Unfortunately I can tell you what's so special about that damn bottle, but you can't understand unless you're there. I'm sorry that he chose that over his life and family, that's a very sad way to lose someone. I hope you're doing better now.
What is this "old" and "new" Korn everybody is talking about. I thought Korn was just Korn. Korn will always be Korn no matter what they do because they can do whatever the fuck they want to.
I agree!! Sound and taste change over time. I LOVE how Korn’s music has evolved through the years! Shows how they’ve grown and matured. If people wanna bitch about it, well, the other option is don’t listen to it! And don’t bitch about it! There is no “old Korn” or “new Korn.”

I feel the same way as all of you do. Jonathan Davis is a unique person and I will never get sick or tired of his twitching neither. Forever a korn girl here.
This video is somewhat reminiscent of "Make me bad" Nice to see Korn getting so much positive feedback for the new album. The usual whiners talking about "Old Korn" have been mostly drowned out.
alvaro andres allende matus They really never went away. You can never please everyone. thank god. Its nice to see that KoRn wants to please their old fans. Those complaints were still annyoing as fuck, despite Paradigm Shift beeing so good.
Korn has helped me through most of my miserable life and im happy to be a Korn fan. Biggest struggle i ever had is my grandfather's passing. Been extremely tough to find some light out in the world. Korn makes that light brighter, long live Korn.

It's been around a week or two since I got to peek at the half of the next Korn album and now they even released an official video for the upcoming album?Amazing.
I just love KoRn. Love all their albums (YES, ALL AND IDGAF!) and their music videos are always awesome. Grew up on them since my early teens in the early 2000s, though 12 yr old me knew and liked them since Issues' release. So I guess I'm a "semi-long time" fan.
+Dark 6 Revolver I'm glad it doesn't sound like Life is Peachy because that is by far their worst album. Even SYOTOS had better songs than that garbage
Satans Hell Hound To each his own, buddy. Perhaps I'm confused on exactly what old KoRn is. I've had a similar discussion on other thread. I'm not dissin on the guys. Nuthin but love here
Dark 6 Revolver it's cool I'm not being confrontational I'm just stating my dislike for that particular album. Don't get me wrong "Good God" is amazing but the rest is pretty bad. Personally I'm glad Korn don't go back to their old sound. I like their albums to be unique to each other 👍🏻
But this song is practically all chorus, that's the problem. Should have longer verses. And Insane is the best track on the album hands down. Edit: Changed my mind haha, Black is the Soul might be the best. Insane is definitely better than Take Me and Rotting though.

That chorus is beautiful

So zen
Every chorus in the álbum Is perfecto
Sticks in my head all day after listening to it.
That simple but addictive kick drum that follows his voice during the chorus at “take me” and it’s “the only way” is simple but sounds epic!
Serenity of Suffering is one of their best albums in a very long time. I can't believe after 22 years they can still create some bad ass music.

These new Korn songs are bringing my teenage years back :D
o yeah i totally agree

Such a unique song. I can't describe the atmospheric feeling the chorus gives . It's sick. So uplifting. "Take me" chorus executes that perfectly .
The chorus gives me "a rainy dark night car trip" vibes 😅 such a beautiful and great song

Julius Hackenschmidt I know. but I'm just being the stereotypical American who is right just because that's how he thinks.
Bob Man OHHHHHh, sorry about that. just trying to defend the band for making a great song. I hope it's understandable
Bob Man I'm English we spell it favourite. There's a world that exists outside of the U.S ☺👍
All these times Korn has been there for us.. We need to be there for him. John, the fans hear you man.
Korn then Korn now Korn forever, I'm sure I'm not the only moody teen you got through the 90s 🤘🤙

Let's be honest, we're all still moody teens on the inside.

I was down and you took me up past the ceiling
You are the disease
I'm the remedy that numbs all your feelings
You come looking for me
I'm the only one that keeps you sound
Bring you down to your knees
'Cause I'm the only one that makes you, you, you, you
[Chorus]
Take me
Please take me
It's the only way
Please take me
[Verse 2]
You came after me
I'm not worth anything if I'm not inside you
Only you can truly see
All the hell you put me throughwhen the fish is feeding
Can't really be free
'Cause every time I run away, you hunt me down
I can't ever be me
'Cause every time I turn around it's you, you, it's you, you
[Chorus]
Take me
Please take me
It's the only way
Please take me
[Bridge]
I feel it calling, I feel it holding me
It's taking everything I love away from me
I feel it ripping, I feel it scarring me
This shit has made me blind to all reality
I feel it calling
I feel it calling
It's calling me
Go! Away, away
Go! Away, away
[Chorus]
Take me
Please take me
It's the only way
Please take me
Take me
Please take me
It's the only way
Please take me

I think they could have improved with this song at the end by maybe a killer riff at the end or jons voice, same with a different world
LOL. Paradigm Shift was the best since TALITM and is better than this one. Issues and Untouchables are both easily better than FTL too. So... no :P
the world is better with Korn.

KoRn sendo KoRn
Have rescued the essence, please continue on this line.
This new album is the Korn we were missing
Issues, Untouchables and The Serenity Of Suffering. I don't need anymore.
idc how different it is korn never changes korn will always be korn
rock never dies!!
rock?
But it does go in and out of fashion.
Black is the Soul needs a official video!!
the best track on album
there is an unofficial video
AxlVlogs you got your wish

AxlVlogs they have one
This is the best song of metal guys

Me too!
Andrés Berrocal me too

*come out with ;)
i hope so
I just love KoRn. Love all their albums (YES, ALL AND IDGAF!) and their music videos are always awesome. Grew up on them since my early teens in the early 2000s, though 12 yr old me knew and liked them since Issues' release. So I guess I'm a "semi-long time" fan.
so glad this album is what we all needed and expected
Korn should make psychological thriller.
about a psychopathic caterpillar
I think it'd be a psychological horror
his voice💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Love how JD wrote this song! He wrote it from the perspective of the actual substance.. hence "take me"
this is so ..... deep........
nep
I got scared I had a virus so my pants fell down wtf?
A coin alters a hash across the classical clone. Wtf?
Amazing. Sounds just like the old Korn I loved!
Ayye Suzy! I Seen Your Streams Before Haha Small World!
What is old KoRn to you? This isn't Life Is Peachy. This sounds more like the shit after FTL.
I like their albums to be unique to each other 👍🏻
This is really beautiful. Love you, Korn 🤘🏼
Rotting In Vain > A Different World > Insane > Take Me
Take Me > Rotting > Insane > A Different World. Corey Taylor and Slipknot sucks.
Leonel Mancia like
Don't agree at all. A Different World is one of the most disappointing ones I think. Take Me has the best melody and chorus
But this song is practically all chorus, that's the problem. Should have longer verses.
And Insane is the best track on the album hands down.
Edit: Changed my mind haha, Black is the Soul might be the best. Insane is definitely better than Take Me and Rotting though.
I liked Insane best as far as video wise.
Finally Korn put out an album worthy of the Korn name
Anthony Morado the bands finally completely back together!!
Stop ripping on other Korn songs they’re all really really good!!!
