So thankful to be living in a world where Korn exists. Rock on brothers!
I know right, I feel lucky to have grown up in Fresno when they exploded (with them from Bako). There was a whole scene here, with Deftones being from Sac, and then you had Sublime, No Doubt (they were good once upon a time) down in Socal, it was just a whole scene, especially with Bay Area hip hop exploding Too Short E 40 Mac Dre it was a good time to grow up in the 90s
Alex B No love for the sisters?? lol it's all good. Rock on brothers and sisters!!! 🤘🏼. Korn for FUCKING EVERRRR!!!!
Alex B
Alex B TRUE DAT
Alex B same
this is the best KoRn song of the last 15 years, hands down.
Nah, I think Punishment Time is their best song in the last 15 years. Mass Hysteria is really good too!
Anthem
Yes I agree
rol trans It passed Freak On A Leash for my favorite KoRn hit, and BELIEVE ME, that was hard to do!!!🌽
I like this song more than their older songs
The first scream "VAINNNN"
Gave me goosebumps
korn FINALLY went back to the way they were in the mid to late 90's
jim burlingame hell yeah
right I didn't really car for the dubstep sounding stuff they did a while back
"first two albums which is the only ones that are any good".... totally your own fucking opinion
i like the first 2 along with untouchables. in my opinion untouchables was their last good album until this.
I mean honestly this album doesn't sound a whole lot different than TPS, it's just a lot heavier and the electronics aren't as in front.
Who is super stoked that the old Korn are back?!?!?!?!
With this and Insane we are back to Untouchables and everything before it.
:Raises hand:
and seems by this song at least that they haven't fucked up and changed their style they still sound like the korn of old like u said...so glad they're back
It sounds like Head was the special ingredient that made Korn, KoЯn.
This is by far their best since Life is Peachy/Issues!!
+luke666808g Indeed. Head is the straw that stirs Korns drink. It was Heads guitar riffs that gave Korn its unique sound, I'm so glad he's back in the fold. It's no coincidence that this album sounds a lot like pre-2005 Korn.
Korn saved my life in 2016
Thank you 🤘🏻
The Serenity Of Suffering is my favorite album 🔥
we aRE Aall freaks mate, some just don't admit it and that kills them
at the end of the song JD asked Tommy if he brushed his teeth
By 2016 I had been a fan for over 20 years but not a freak for at least 15. They became a bit formulaic after the first four albums, though their current stuff is still miles better than most other shit that is around.
Are you on a leash?
Do not save! Only fake.
this was in my recommended after "divinempty" by eyes of your eyes and honestly, not a better match to be made.
holy SHIT another EOYE fan. Love that band too!!
Checked out Eyes of Your Eyes because of this comment. Mind=blown. 😱
Eyes of Your Eyes is probably my favorite new heavy thing ever. glad to see them getting mad support, seems to only be two guys building the craziness.
Jaysos Chroist, Jackie boy!!!
SAMCRO!
JAJAJA bloody jeal
I laughed so hard. Excellent timing.
I instantly thought "AHH, MOTHER O' CHRIST" when I saw Chibs :'D
The SOA quotes. Having flashbacks of episodes. Hilarious
Glad to see Korn still screaming gibberish after all these years.
lol
It's not gibberish what the fuck.
@@prawngravy18 He probably is talking about the scat thing that Jonathan used to do on the first albums, around 2:40
@@ItsNotaTuhmah I know what he was talking about. I was saying, if he is too dumb to understand the music then why bother commenting. It's not gibberish.
@@prawngravy18 relax dude
This has now become a KoRn Klassic. It's a perfect example of what korn is. Groovy, heavy, and fucking weird, but awesome.
Definitely
hell yes
Agreed.
I love to define them as "Desperate Brutality".
Jonathan Davis is just pure talent and versatility....
Can't stop watching this! It's a masterpiece
Jajaja ridiculous
I can't stop watching 'insane'!
Agreed. I heard this song live a few days ago man.. it was epic :D
Did you go to First Niagara Pavillion?
saw them at the pnc bank arts center it was awesome
Lyrics :
I wouldn't be angry if you just fucking cried
Your tears would arouse me, refreshing my supply
The suffering is fading, I scream into the sky
Repulsion invades me, I say goodbye
Digging deep inside of me
Getting past this agony
I can't seem to get away
Another day rotting in... VAAAAIN !!!!
I wouldn't be angry if things would stay the same
You're fighting the torment that helps me feed my pain
The suffering is fading, I scream into the sky
Repulsion invades me, I say goodbye
Digging deep inside of me
Getting past this agony
I can't seem to get away
Another day rotting in...

Getting past this agony
I can't seem to get away
Another day rotting in

I already know that but 👍
Wifi jokes 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks
(Wi-Fi password jokes) lol
Admittedly a very minor, persnickety correction--I'm pretty sure he says "I wouldn't be angry if you would just fucking cry," not "I wouldn't be angry if you just fucking cried."
Slight difference of meaning there.
As I said, a very minor, persnickety correction.
I was an English major. I can't help it. Sorry.
This song, saved my life, during a really bad period of my life. I'll always love Korn and for whoever is out there, struggling, just know that you matter and your life is precious!
Turn to Jesus to gain eternal love❤
@@TylerHerwek fuck the jesus
Love you!
His broken voice in the word "Agony" is just briliant
one of the bands who really aged well!!
bounsJDM Yeah true. It is rare for a band almost 30 years into their career to make such great albums again.
@Jeff Z He is technically MILES better than David but he can't replace Silveria's flow from the early albums. Not even David himself can probably anymore haha. Ray is a great guy too!
Im 31 and these guys ruled the school yard. PLUS who remembers PS2 ATV OFF ROAD FURY SOUNDTRACK?
@@Habeev07 ATV Offroad Fury?!?!?!?! Haven't heard that name in years, and I'm only 16 :)
I think the thing that kept Korn's head above the water, was they were authentic and original. Most of the shit that didn't age well, is the Limp Bizkits and the PODs that followed their explosion. All Jnco and wallet chain mofos that latched on. Even Korn got a little lost in their way in the mid 2000s. They lost Head and David during a slump in their popularity, and I think the band were quite shaken by that. Not to mention Jon came close to dying around that time, even having to sit out on that tour. That's kind of why I overlook Untitled. It's got some good ideas on it, but Korn was basically 3 guys at that point, and they weren't exactly in a good place in their lives. I think Head returning was the best thing that happened to the band. I'm not saying he was the only thing that made them good, but it's like he was that thing that was missing. His energy and his playing, which made the rest of the band play better and seem better mentally. I'm not trying to say Korn never lost their popularity. Even when they weren't hitting the charts, they still filled the arenas. I as a Korn fan will always support and love this band. We Korn fans are all different in style and appearance, but we all somehow relate on many levels.
This is like if Untouchables and Issues had a baby. Fucking amazing, exactly what i want Korn to sound like in 2016.
was thinking exactly this
Is the "Mask" representing JD's "Oxygen" mask when he needs it on his Live tours??!! Just a thought. Going to go down as a Classic..
Kevin KOhler
And the Paradigm shift already sounds a hell of a lot like Untouchables. This is heavier than both of those albums.
The only song that sounds a little tiny bit like a untouchables one on the the paradigm shift is love and meth
Dude was thinking the same thing!
3:30 those backround voices make the outro even more beautiful than it already is, KoRn knows how to make Thrilling music
Love it 💙💙💙💙
Tt/t^es s
U obviously have GREAT taste in music 😉
NuMetal still alive
Damn right.
Always hated this characterisation, Korn were never nu-metal. They were groove/funk/alt metal
I swear to god they were butt-fuck-chime-british-folk-blood metal ?? Wtf?
I mean, if you really wanna get into it they'd have a different genre for each album, but yeah, Nu Metal is definitely a broad enough term to cover their general sound.
One of the main characteristics of nu-metal is to deny being nu-metal.
2:45 - KORN BROUGHT BACK TWIST!!!!!
They brought back Korn 🙌
Its just a reggae thing
oh hell yeah!!!
Anti_Aaron26 fuck reggae that was fucking TWISTeD

Obviamente :b
They never left, fyi.
CrispyCakes Korn was not the same for many years. That's why I said that they are back. They have a little bit of the old sound and they kinda went back to their roots. I have been following korn since 1996 and yes they were lost for a time trying to experiment with new sounds that I personally never liked.
Yep

I think he meant that the one before him spelled it wrong
Nismo Jdm my bad for misspelling it. I meant cocaine I was typing really fast. I was just making a reference to heavy metal man's profile pic
That riff is so dope, gotta love Munky and Head’s groove
@@ChrisJohnson1988 Absolutely. Head is the mastermind in the studio and just has a knack for writing some of the best riffs. I'd go as far as saying he is probably the best nu metal guitarist of all time. Only ones that may compare to him are Steph Carpenter and Wes Borland but I'd say Head is even better than those 2! I think Munky has more on stage confidence than Head though. He may be a better live guitarist, but Head is that secret ingredient that they absolutely need in the studio or it just won't truly feel like a classic Korn album.
@@leadme2thebliss21 I agree with alot you mentioned there. I met Munkey once, the whole group actually. I always envied Munkey and my second guitar I ever purchased was a 7 string Ibanez RG series 7620 that had a $999.99 price tag. I even purchased a Mesa Boogie 4x12' cab with a Nomad head. I loved their sound back then so much I incorporated some of it into my creative process. Inspiration in writing. We all have our inspirations. My main one was Dimebag, obviously always a popular choice & J. from White Zombie. Back to concurring with you, I will say as far as that category of nu-metal guitar goes, there's not a whole lot of competition......at least much talented competition anyway. That style of play is hands down the easiest style to learn to play on guitar in my opinion. Grunge might be a bit simpler of a style maybe. Like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Blind Melon. However, Alice in Chains isn't as simple as those others, some tracks are more complex but certainly not intricate. STP isn't easy but it aint hard either. Unfortunately, most bands do mellow out the older they get. I think Korn has made a real effort in trying to keep that edge and they have. It's just for me, the first record was just that good it's hard to top although they almost did in LIP. Twist got on tape, lots of raw power in that record. I just miss the older Korn, just like I miss the older Deftones. I miss raw early Mudvayne, early Slipknot. I first saw the knot play to a crowd of, about 50 of us. A unique show cause there was so little of a crowd back then it made it all more intimate of an experience cause your getting alot of feedback & reaction personally, you react and they react to you. Not a huge crowd where you can't fish 1 face out of the sea of people. It made it more special. I always treasure that experience. Dems was the days and growing up really blows sometimes.......unless your filthy rich that is.
Wer ist ehrlicher, als Korn mit ihren Songs. Bin mit euch groß geworden und werde euch immer dafür danken, dass ihr mich begleitet. 🌷 Grüße aus Deutschland 🌈

Masterpiece, Jonathan’s voice at peak. My biggest inspiration as a vocalist.
New Pokemon, new Korn, remakes of every 90's movies... Yup we are back to the year 2000
Unfortunately, I must disagree slightly. Much of the world have become zombies to their mobile devices. That was not the case in 2000. Although I do reminisce about that time quite often as it was full of music with substance. Looks like Korn are still leading the pack from those days. I digress. All the best to you brutha.

KORN IS BACK
I think the message the music video is trying to tell us is: "Inhale inside a gas mask heavily and Korn will appear in your house."
Jeff Z Do either of you see the literary references of really only one author...I am sure those who know the works of the author see a lot more and maybe a different story.

@@daveme7 can you tell me who the author is? it sounds like a good read
Einis Pro Edgar Allan Poe...the house from The Fall of the House of Usher
The Raven.
Had a few of his works In a lit class so I am sure there are a lot more in his literary works I could be missing...and I could be thinking maybe these are just references with no corollary to the song.
My favorite work of his is The Masque of Red Death. Because everyone gets it in the end.

Absolute masterpiece. Korn DNA 100%.
This is probably the best song IMO they've put out in a long time that captures more of Korn's original sound. I like it.
Well I think from SYOTOS on was them kind of distancing themselves from that sound, it's interesting to see such a strong return to it. I almost wonder if them doing their entire first album live again didn't have a big impact on how this one turned out.
I think this may be the biggest shift in sound Korn has ever had between two albums, TPS is so technical and clean sounding, while this is basically the complete opposite as far as Korn goes. I'm very interested in finding out where this album goes, I hope they have a good variety this time around and it's not all songs that sound like they were made for radio - like their previous three albums were.
I feel like SYOTOS and Untitled having mixed reactions really scared them into playing it safe artistically and this song is a big departure from that, I just hope the rest of the album is too.
Best song since Take A Look In The Mirror
SYOTOS was OK. A little too drastic a depature. But admirable experimenting. Untitled sucked. Their worst album by far besides that dub step shit, i aint even counting that one. Korn III was decent but they missed Heads song writing and guitar still. Paradigm Shift was too clean, too safe in moments, and too electronic at times still. But like half the record was good.
Korn: 10/10 classic
Life is Peachy: 8.5/10 Really good
Follow the Leader: 9.5/10 classic
Issues: 9/10 great
Untouchables: 9/10 great
TALITM: 7.5/10 Solid/decent
SYOTOS: 6/10 okay
Untitled: 4/10 not good
Korn III: 7/10 decent
Paradigm Shift: 6.5/10 okay
I hope they can eclipse Korn III and TALITM on this one. This song sounds like 2001. Closer to Untouchables but not quite there, some left over creepy sounds in the verses that are reminiscent of Issues. But the guitars and chorus sound close to Untouchables.
+Grant Inskeep damn, I agree with that list/ranking you got there, well put
