    Thank you for this. Saved me prolly $200. My dad was the mechanic in the family but he’s incredibly abusive so I had to finally cut ties and I have no one to turn to with these kinds of questions anymore. Thank you. 🧡

    Dude this is awesome I'm a mom I've been riding my kids around with no air for quite a while now it's hot it's miserable I just learned that it's probably the blower motor and resistor so I went and bought them then I looked on TH-cam to find a video to see how to do it you did a fantastic job showing me I'm going to go buy the tools right now and get mine replaced so excited to be back to having air conditioning

    You got right to it and showed me step by step and included the caution areas. I'll be installing a new fan in the near future and now I'm confident it's an easy fix.
    Thanks...

    Thank you for making this video. After a lot of research, I found nothing to replace my fan motor and resistor in my '05 Malibu..........must be the old style. Your setup is exactly like what's on mine. Fan was squealing and only had 2 (4 & 5) speeds on the blower. Now I have everything thanks to you. And.........btw, I'm a 71 year old female. ;)

    Hey, Big Al. I used to do stuff like that for a living. Anything accesory that you could add to a vehicle, back in the 80's and 90's. I was thinking of doing how to vids, for the stuff I know, such as window tint, air conditioning, electrical problems, ect. I think you did a great job! I will be going thru your vids, as I am always looking to increase my knowledge.

    My blower will not work on any speed ,how did you determine that your problem was the blower motor and not the resistor pack or both
    I have checked the blower fuse
    Do you have a trouble shooting video ? Thanks in advance .well done video I know I can replace the blower I just need to make sure that is the problem before I start buying or parts also.

    Is there a way to test the blower motor or the restrictor before you tear them all the way to completely apart and out of the car to determine which one is bad

  • @brychaus9059
    @brychaus9059 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not sure if you monitor these comments anymore. If you do, do you have any tips on how to tell if it's a resistor or a blower issue? All I can say is that my fan will cut in and out and sound all warbly and rough at times. I'm guessing it's the blower, but I figure I might as well ask.

    How can you tell if just the blower motor, just the resistor or both need to be replaced???

    • @alleehoff
      @alleehoff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      usually if it's just the resistor, some of the fan speeds will work. to be sure if it's the fan and not the resistor you should run constant power thru it after unplugging it.

    • @lorimarkie7762
      @lorimarkie7762 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Big Al Hoffman Vlogs Yeah... it was running on only the last 3 of 5 speeds and off. I got both of the parts (resistor and blower motor) for $30 so I ended up getting both just in case. It was just the resistor. The blower itself was fine but I’m keeping it anyway just in case I need it down the road.
