I bought the version with brown keys. I love the low profile and short key travel. I was frankly surprised at how quiet the keyboard was - making it easy to use for video conferencing. The low profile keys also reduce strain on the wrists - reducing the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome compared to regular keyboards. I was surprised at how the low keyboard profile keys allow a similar hand-wrist orientation as the Microsoft Ergonomic keyboards, despite the Keychrone not being specifically an ergonomic keyboard. The one downside I found is the loss of the F15 key since this was replaced by the hardwired RGB Light Key. I would have preferred keeping the F15 key for macros while using a key combination to activate the RGB lighting combinations - particularly since I don't change RGB lighting selections that often. Note that all keyboards accumulate dust. And with standard keys, the dust and dirt is deeply embedded in the keyboard. But this keyboard's floating key design makes it very easy to pop the keys off and clean the keyboard. So the dust accumulation objection is actually non-existent on this keyboard compared to regular keyboards. Overall, this keyboard is also much much less expensive than other higher end keyboards. It is much more comfortable to use than Apple's magic keyboards. I love the tactile feedback of its mechanical design, its quietness. So I highly recommend the keyboard.
As a physician, from an ergonomics standpoint, you do not want to raise the back as it increases anterior wrist strain, which increases propensity for carpal tunnel syndrome. Similar to playing piano. Otherwise great review!

I've been tempted by the K6 in the past because it checks off so many boxes for me: hot swappable, TKL, backlight, Mac-friendly. Hi, do you hear or experienced the problems that some users of this keyboard pointing has, for example: 1. Keyboard randomly types by itself sometimes, like "llllllllllllllllllll" or "aaaaaaaaaaaaa" etc. and 2. Issues with bluethooth connections.
Got these errors from the comments of some customers in keychron official webpage.
14:03 Not bad sound even it's a brown switches. All it's left is lube stabilizers.
Pity it has floating buttons, I don't like this but all other aspects seems fine. I've taken a note of this keyboard.
How does this compare to the v5? Is the bluetooth usable and consistent for gaming?
new subscriber, bought the K1 after watching this
Hope you enjoy it!
How do you like it so far? I was thinking about buying one.
@@drumdover the only problem is the existing switch for it because its hard to look for a replacement (if you dont want the original) of keycaps. It does not use the conventional switches with the (+) for keycaps
Hope you can get your hands on a K3 before it comes out soon! I am soooo looking for someone to do a K1 vs K3 review before I pre-order.
I pre ordered so I won't get it till 2021
You should put the 10% link before the keyboard link. I almost missed it the 10% off. Thanks!
Best review channel keep it up
just bought the v5 version with banana switches, i hope i will like this miles better than the k6 i have currently which is way too high and way too many wrong keypresses due to having red switches. my experience before i had a CM KB with brown mx keys and i liked these so much better than reds. i cant wait to try low profile banana switches!
Is it possible to remove rattle on stabilizers on this keyboard by lubing it? Never saw stabilizers like this.
Yes, lots of 205g0 lube
I wish they did a layout like the hex gears x1. With a numpad but still compact. The big k1 with numpad is too big.
Hi there !!! Great review!!!
Between the K1v4 and the Logitech G915 tkl? Which one would you recommend, regardless the price?
Tks!!!
I believe this can be my main keyboard. Maybe I'll wait the v5, but definitely a low profile
I tried a low profile at a store these days and man i really want one. I’ll probably wait for when I upgrade from my laptop to a desktop.
2:05 behind you!
Could you tell me what cable you used at 14:22 to charge the keyboard?
What type of keycap profile would you recommend for linear switches? I'm trying to go for SA profile cuz it looks good and I'm hoping it could give a more bassier 'thock' sound. Great video as always :)
It's a winner to me!
Missed the group buy on the V4 104key and can't find one anywhere unfortunately. So was able to pick up a slightly used v4 with red keys on eBay. Will give it a shot as I have been looking for a low profile mechanical and see if I like the reds vs. brown. Thanks for the in-depth review.
How does the does the Logitech G915/815 compare to this keyboard?
How does it affect your wrists? Great video!
Great review, thank you! Do you have plans to also review the K3?
I wish there was an alternative option to also pair via dongle like in the logitech g915
@@SwitchandClickOfficial looking forward to it! Looking for something wireless to replace my DasKeyboard
Thank you for your very informative video. Would you recommend the blue or brown switches for someone who does a a lot of writing? I do like the clicky sound, so long as it’s not too clicky.
brown for sure
Hi, how it works with windows? I don't see ,,windows logo" key? How i will be able to make ,,windows + L" shortcut for quickly close my pc? Is there any another problems? Plz reply how it works with windows
Got mine today! I must say the build quality is awesome. But I'm missing 1 ALT keycap in the box! came with an extra Del keycap instead.
Great video! Could you please review the version 5?
OMG U REVIEWED IT
Oooo I had a question about stabilizers on the k6 and i thought might as well help support and comment here! I've been reading more about screw-in stabilizers and in terms of compatibility for the k6 or is it even something worth worrying about? Or are the stock ones fine but just check for wobble and lube them and I will be okay.
I have been trying to find pbt low profile keycap with no luck. Could you recommend any place/site if you know any? Thanks!
HI! Which one would you recommend between the k1v4 and the Logitech G815
I am a news writer, so I type A LOT! =) thanks!
Also which keyboard would you prefer for a smooth typing experience?
Thanks!
"Should be pretty easy if you have fingers..."
Question. Which color switches sound and feel most like an IBM keyboard? Thanks, Mark
how do you switch between function key and multimedia keys ? i tried press FN + X + L and blinking but didnt work. any idea?
Your K1 V3 video never popped up. I was wondering what the time intervals between these keyboards were so that I don't buy the K1 V4 today and have the V5 come out next month. Any hunches on how often then release a new model?
I'm very interested on buying this keyboard but i'm hesitating for the following reason can any of you help? For my daily job i use the Pause key which was replaced by the lighting key. Does the lighting key serve a dual purpose or if i buy this keyboard am i losing the pause key all together thank you!
It's almost keyboard that I want. But it's not truly wireless. Bluetooth is just not so fast as dedicated 2.4GHz dongle. So it not for gamers or programmers. Seems like the only option in the whole world is Logitech g915 TKL.
@CARLG1 yes. The price of proper wireless without noticeable delay. I hope manufacturers will provide us with more similar options in near future.
Does it remember the backlight setting after turning it off/on? Or after unplugging/plugging it in to a different computer? (I want to use this with a KVM switch and wondering if it would maintain backlight setting after switching computers via the cable and not Bluetooth)
Hi I'm new to the mechanical world of keyboards. Which is the best one for being a graphic designer on a mac. watched a few of your videos. I am use to the apple magic ones but want something different and cool. Need help please and thank you for your reviews!
@@SwitchandClickOfficial Thank you for responding! Is there any other mechanical keyboards i should be looking at?
Can I change a regular mechanical keycap to this low profile?
Im really interested to get this version as K2 is hurting my wrist alot even with palm rest. However, I really don’t like ABS keycaps. Does anyone know of compatible PBT keycaps with letter shine throughs that work with the K1 V4?
Try Tempest.sg I'm loving it ...
Nice review! Do you know of any low-profile, wireless keyboars with a 75% layout? That would be pretty much perfect for me
@@SwitchandClickOfficial looks sweet, thank you!
I've seen A LOT of users complaining of bluetooth problems with keychron kbd... Mainly related to delays to wakeup after some minutes without use... Do you know if these problems are gone with new bluetooth 5.0?
Debating whether I should get the K1v4 or K8 for doing medium gaming and school work. what's your take on it? In your review the K8 is hot swap-able, also can use other key cap available while K1v4 is more limiting on switch and caps. Wondering which one I should get >_
It looks nice but I'm not really into low profile, nice vid 👍
Can you do Hexgears x-1?
There was lots of comments on the old version, but they claim to fix them.
And I really like the layout of it, when programming I really like when the home and end buttons are on the arrows keys to quickly go to the end or start of a line by just holding the fn key.
Edit: Awesome review btw!
Nice video and good job staying away from the LP gateron blues that seemed to have quite an annoying sound on the v3. How do you think this compares to the Havit keyboard with LP kailh switches?
I have the Havit LP and just ordered the K1 V4 brown switches. I’ll be sure to swing back by and update you on the comparison 👍🏻
I ordered both in red. I'm returning Havit because the keycaps were too small compared to Keychron. Plus the build wasn't as sturdy.
Nice video! I have this keyboard with red switches and I really wish I had gotten browns
Switch and Click Yes, that is what I am finding. It was also my first mechanical keyboard so I didn’t make the most informed decision 🙈. I thought I wouldn’t want the “bump” coming from the MacBook Pro 2019 keyboard but found I wish it had it. But yeah it actuates too easily and I don’t know where in the travel it will actuate using my fingers. So I’m getting browns to feel when it types the letter.
Switch and Click the letter doesn’t type out until you feel the bump correct?
Switch and Click Thanks!
If they make this a 65%, it's gonna blow out!
@@SwitchandClickOfficial I hope they do! Before I settle for this one 😂 I'm almost sold and the price is very attractive. Have you played games on this keyboard? How's it like for that?
@@SwitchandClickOfficial great, I'm planning on using it plugged in all the time anyway so it's good to know it does the job. Thanks!
@@SwitchandClickOfficial this was very on point, they're releasing the K3 (75% layout) ... I guess I'll wait for that 😂
