- PHDesigns - Alpine Ultra Half Bag
Half bags are awesome to make up a sleep system when you are already carrying a down jacket to keep weight to a minimum. This one only weighs 250g so can be used to sleep in as it is or as an extra layer inside another full sleeping bag for very cold conditions. I look forward to testing it further!

PHDesigns - Yukon Down Pullover: K Series
Amazingly warm for just 355g! I love the fact that it’s a pullover so you can join your hands in the pocket to keep warm. It has a typical operating temperature of -15C so perfect for UK winters and even high altitude expeditions. This will definitely be my go to jacket for winter camping with… warm, ultra lightweight and small packsize👌

PHDesigns - Minimus Down Trousers
Ultralight (230g) packable down trousers using 900 fill power down. Simple design to reduce weight but functionally perfect for those colder nights at camp with a typical operating temperature of -5C.

Why is Blue's camera man wandering about on his own?
Iol
😂😂😂
Brilliant 😂
😂😂😂😂
Other Blue Crue members are as soft as me. I knew it!... I feel at home here! 🤣
Heading back home (North Uist in Outer Hebrides) from seeing family in Cambridgeshire, had to go for hike and a nights wild camping up T'north (Lake District) en route. All cosy in me sleeping bag and listening to the rain, I thought I'd watch a couple of your videos - thought you summed it up nicely in this one...Living the dream! Absolutely!
Nice to see you out in my back yard. Great video as always!!! We've had some strange weather of late that's for sure!
Your back yard looks ace, bit big though, mine only takes 30 mins to cut the grass, then it’s feet up, and World superbikes on the tv 👍😜🇮🇲
@ManxAndy now your talking, world supervises!!!!
I’m a simple man. I see a new video from Al and Blue, I put the kettle on and enjoy with a nice cup of tea. Great work pal, hope to catch you out on the trails one day!
Good stuff mate. Tea and some relaxing camp talk
It's amazing how you can be in your tent for so long whilst keeping things so interesting , great content . Brilliant video footage scrambling over those rocks , the camera never left you .. Keep them coming ,Top man
Great attitude!!!
😂 I’m glad I’m not boring you
Good to see you in the Peaks, Kinder Scout is an amazing place. I wouldn't take my dog up there, but he's not a mountain goat like Blue! Hope he's ok. Thanks for another great video.
Awwe hope Blue is alright and just resting, lovely video many thanks 🙏
I think climbers years ago christened that area of weirdly shaped rocks 'Whipsnade', after the zoo, thinking of the rocks as surreal animals. Love Kinder Scout. There's so much to explore: Grindsbrook, Kinder Downfall, the Kinder river, Kinder Gates, etc., etc. Fantastic under snow.
Bout time you came down South a bit!! My favourite place in the Peaks!!
Fantastic to see you in The Peaks!! ❤
I am now 94 most of my walking in
The Peak District
It brought back memories it’s not always like that hope you go back again loyd of great places different than the Lake
District
Fred
Brilliant Fred and I’m sure you’ll have loads of amazing memories. Keep going old boy. Amazing 👍👍👍
Missed Blue & hope he’s ok? Enjoyed the video - some interesting rocks around there 👍
When you went through the gate 😂😂 fab as always Al. What a beautiful part of the country 😍 looking forward to the next one! ❤
I’m just an idiot😂
Anything but boring, Al! :) When I can't get out, you'll do for me... Vicarious camping! Love it! Thank you, as always.
I’ve become addicted to your videos!! Blue is a beautiful dog too ❤
Great video totally enjoyed it xx
Enjoyed this
Just found your channel. Love all the beautiful views and blue 😅
Love your videos, Al. Keep them coming!
Great vid as always, good to see you playing out in the peaks 👍
Great content again. Look forward to the next
Thanks bro! 🙂
Another great camp! Thanks for all you do to keep us appeased.
Brilliant, love the stones up on kinder, great to see you over in the peak district. Love the videos 💪
Great video as usual
lovely to see you enjoying kinder scout 😀
Oh my, those rocks are fantastic!
good to see you playing out in the peaks
Always love your videos. You put yourself in very testy situations. Keep it up and keep it safe.
Camped in that spot loads of times brilliant spot to chill out
Good to see you in the Peaks,
Saving to watch on the television tonight! ❤❤ Steady on in that mud!! X
Good to see you in my back yard!
Good to see you in the Peaks, was going to camp there last night before the weather warning for rain. As you can see it’s muddy enough!!!
Just done Mam Tor, Hollins Craoos, Back Tor, Lose Hill etc and back down to Castleton today. Beyond Muddy and claggy !
Great video Al - good to see you out and about in the Peak District ❤️👍🏻
Love it! Happy to be along for your journey!
Cheers. I’m glad you could join me👊
Thanks for another great video. Pretty area despite the dark skys. Blue must have set this one out.
As everyone else is saying, great seeing you in the Peaks! Woolpacks is by far my favourite wild camp spot although it’s busy, practically a campsite in summer these days.
What a cool landscape and I think the tent fit in well! I love Osprey packs, I hope yours goes well!
You never fail to put a smile on my face.
😂 ace mate👍
Great video really enjoyed, I stayed there for the 1st time last month and had a great but cold time
Clever sleeping system, very well thought out.Fascinating camping tips which are so simple yet so necessary.Well done, happy camping.
Love the vids; always look forward to them on a Sunday evening. Ever thought about doing Coast to Coast. Love the positive attitude
I might run it one day
You are so chilled out because you can deal with all weather
I bet its beautiful there on a lovely sunny day wow that scenery is amazing ..
It most certainly is my friend!
loved this camp Al , nice to see some new kit and you experiencing a new location, looking forward to the next 1 , hopefully Blue will be out
You’re at the top of the world.
Great video, I am relatively new to your videos but completely hooked. Roll on the next one.
Welcome😬
It was funny, made me laugh. Great stuff fella.
Nice video
The classic gate gag, always makes me chuckle. Love all those weathered rocks in the Peaks, yeah very like Brimham Rocks, I remember visiting them when we were staying in Nidddddderdale as we loved to pronounce it.
A beautiful place 😉
I've been walking many times across the Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks near Leek and Dragons Back near Buxton. Used to be my backyard before moving up to Cumbria 12 years ago.
Rain or no rain. Just wonderful as always :)
👊
That was an excellent excursion, Al. Filming while you were traversing the rocky areas must have been so difficult! You sure captured the beauty of the landscape. As always, well done! 🇨🇦
Thanks ☺️
I would say we bother watching because when we can't be out there ourselves, we are out there via you.
Thank you for another great video.
I’m glad you can join me☺️
Love Blue - but - Allen always gets my vote 😊. Brilliant as always 👍 xx
🥰
True the weather stinks yet you still manage to produce another great vlog. Those conditions were obviously massively challenging but Alan, you just take it all in your stride. Thank you for another very entertaining episode.
Thanks Tracy. I take life in my stride🤷🏻♂️😬
After watching (and enjoying) many of your videos, I managed to source the gsi minimalist to pair with my soloist, after a few months of use, can I say what a great addition it is!, thought I’d share that with you (😴) what an amazing little setup it really is 👍 love the sippy cup in a tent…. I’ve been minus the tea/coffee stains a little while now! Another enjoyable video 👌
Well I only ever use my GSI set up as I’m not sure there is better.
Hi Al, you did well to sleep 8hrs. Must have bin cosy. We missed seeing Blue but glad he had a rest at hom e.😊😊
Amazing you have temp same as here in Malta
Thank you.
I enjoyed it Allen! Best wishes from Germany Viola
Another interesting video, the boulders were brilliant the hot chocolate and coffee interesting and blue would be manky if he'd gone
I love your videos bud, I have an 8 year old son and a black Labrador and these inspire me to get him outdoors. Keep up the good work👍☘️
Definitely get him out whilst young as when he hits the teens the interest may subside👍👍👍
Good to see you visiting Kinder mate. Not been there myself in ages. Hope you enjoyed it. :)
Thanks a lot
Kinder scout! Lovely part of the world. To me, looks like another world
My home turf❤. Alport castles was wild on Friday. Car temp said it was 16 degrees when we got back to the car. Mental for February.
Next time you come down, get to Blue John Cavern, lad, Castleton, sorry you dropped on bad weather on your first trip down.
Good to see you out in my neck of the woods, I’ve walked up that way and camped on top of Kinder a few times myself. Also glad to see you didn’t bring your potty mouth with you from the Lake District video last week 😂
😂 I barely swear
Bushman and Bog 😂😮
Great to see you my neck of the woods 😊many good camps up there. Great video again. Just not sure of you hot drink selection 😄 one of the other in my opinion. Chocolate last drink of the night 👍🏻
Besides going to Matlock on a school residential, I've also never visited the Peak District. I don't know why but I just find it much easier to travel north from where I live. More sceneic route I guess.
When you were up on those rocks, my first thought was, they are not a patch on Brimham Rocks. 😅 Some of them did look rather cool though, especially the one with the peaked cap.
Nice to see you somewhere new.
Thanks Al. 👊
Some of us can't get out and about, so we love watching TH-camr's laid in tents! LOL
☺️ keep joining me
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Will do!
Cheers Allen, great video although I'm bloody knackered watching you skip over them rocks.😊
Great video as always Al - but I missed the usual music at the end! Looking forward to seeing your next one as always.
It was funny!
Naw… the gate gag was funny. I totally LOLled.
Good another daft idiot like me😂😂😂
Those boulders had some amazing shapes..as you say weather been all over the place last few weeks. Very mild for Feb
You were very unlucky Al. In 25yrs of exploring Kinder I've never known it to be claggy, wet and definitely no boggy ground😂. It's always a pleasure listening to your thoughts about life. 🐐 ❤
Loving your videos fella. Handsome and humorous. Well hog my haversack!
☺️ thank you
Great video. I went to the peak district about ten years ago. It was in summer, I remember it being dryer than now but still plenty of peat bogs (like Dartmoor😂). I really like the down jacket, but I'm not sure about half of a sleeping bag!
Great video Al. Good to see you out and about in new territories. The Peaks looks good, like Dartmoor on steroids!
If you want a healthy crouton style crunch then smash up some Nairn's Gluten Free Original Oatcakes. I break them in the packet and then mix them in with veg and tuna-mayo. Some wonderful scenery, up there. Thank you for another beautiful video.
Yeah I like them. They used to have a cheese one but I can’t ever find it.
I was up there yesterday was a brilliant walk did just short of 10 mile starting from kinder reservoir round kinder down it was so slippy going down was funny 😂
Your videos are great! Blue is amazing and your kit reviews are spot on. You know what I like the best though.. it's when you urge people to just be present! Just to stop and pay attention to everything. We all seem to need constant distractions :)
Yes it’s definitely how I’ve always kept a happy soul.
Morning flower! Really enjoy your video's of u and blue, I checked out some of the prices of the jackets you wear, goodness me! I'll have to start saving you my penny's 😮 from one yorkshire man to another, keep safe and carry on! 👍
You don’t need to spend that money unless you have to save weight and packsize. It is awesome stuff but better for the extreme expeditions
Just saw the van build again and as a bonus: new stuff 💣😸💜. But no Blue 😌
Nice video mate, pH designs stuff is top notch isn't it 👌. I've not been hiking in the peak district, done a bit of cycling there, may have to try a laal trip in the summer for a wander and a camp. Keep up the good work and look forward to the next video 👊👌
Cool I’ll join you👊
@@BUSHMANandBLUE spot on mate, that would be class 💪
No way my 68 year old legs could keep up with your pace. But its fun going along virtually and remembering when I'd have given you a run for your money! Well, maybe I was never as beastly as you, but I was in the neighborhood.
Yes as I’ve said before use your body whilst it works. Many don’t.
Ran up jacobs ladder to the trig 3 times last weekend
At least you closed the gate😂
Nearly summer time so we can all sit outside of the tent 🎉🎉🎉
We camped in that exact spot last feb, it was an ace camp
Nice one mate, love it up there. Familiar territory for us. There's a couple of cracking cycle climbs there too if you happen to bring your bike at some point. Winnats pass and Mam Nick are both brutal as well as the almost impossible Bamford Clough a little further down the road 😎👍
I love a good hill climb👌
Missed Blue 😞 but he would have made a very muddy bed pal. Great vid as usual. Still think you’re nuts 😃
Still amazes me Al how much you can fit into a rucksack. But then again I have seen first hand how much the PHD kit compresses down. Watching that sleeping bag disappear into the Thermarest stuff back was like watching a magic trick. Now you see it, now you don’t 🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Good evening
Can you imagine the state Blue would have looked like if he had gone through all that mud 🤣🤣🤣
He’d have loved it… but he’d be sleeping outside 😂
That was Kinder Scout you were on btw - my local hill 45 mins away! A good tip for a brilliant breakfast back in Edale is Newfold Farm campsite cafe. Good food in Ye Olde Nag’s Head pub too.
I are in both over my 2 nights there😉👌
@@BUSHMANandBLUEI thought a discerning chap such as yoursen would have sussed out the local scene!
